Central Carolina Livestock Alliance Additional information for Lots 1, 2, & 3 Central Carolina Livestock producers have come together to market their home-raised, performance driven calves together on truckload lots. All calves follow the same vaccination, nutrition, and genetic programs found on this page. Location: Burlington, NC - 20 miles east of Greensboro, NC Weighing Conditions: Hauled 20-30 miles and weighed on the ground at the Alamance County Cattlemen’s Association barn.
Genetic Program Calves are predominantly Angus-Simmental half-blood calves, typically out of half-blood SimAngus cows and sired by half-blood SimAngus bulls. Extensive Artificial Insemination work has been used for many years. All bulls used are performance tested and come from reputable purebred breeders. These bulls include sons sired by PVF Rookie, GAR Predestined, RCR Stetson, and PVF Black Joker.
Performance
Calves are home-raised, backgrounded, weaned 45+ days, bunk broke, broke to waterers, docile, and triple vaccinated. Vaccination protocol followed the SelectVAC 45 programs and was as follows: First Round: Second Round: Third Round: Bovi-Shield Gold 5 Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot Enforce 3 UltraChoice 8 UltraChoice 8 Dectomax Inject. Five Circle Farms Five Circle Farms and the Odell family do an excellent job each year of bringing fancy, top-quality calves to sell. The Odell family uses some of the best high-performance genetics available and follow excellent management practices with birthdates on all calves. Calves are Angus-based crossed with Charolais genetics. They have used Yon Family Farms bulls for many years.
