WINTER WANDERLAND It’s that time of year when some extra clothes are needed to brave the elements. When the streets are wet and the mountains are covered in snow. These cold conditions bring out base layers and jackets to keep the body warm when the air is brisk.

Though we are all on different paths, we start our day and put our pants on one leg at a time. Rich or poor, young or old, we are here to make the best of it. One Leg at a Time gives you a look at a day in the life of our advocates. What makes them progress, how they move forward and how they live their lives. 2. 1 ) W OL F MAN B I K E R , D A G G E R S P I G M E NT D E NI M | 2 ) F L O O D D E NI M NE U T R A L

The RVCA x Toy Machine collab was a no-brainer. Both companies place importance on authenticity in their teams, artwork, and ways we approach our business. Since I have been doing Toy Machine since 1993 and been working with RVCA since 2003 what would be more organic and authentic than for both companies to work together to offer a line of clothes that is the love-child of us coming together? The spawn of our union will include t-shirts, flannell, hats, socks, vest, and even a womens swimsuit! These items reflect both the surf and skate cultures we participate in. – Ed Templeton 1.

“In a time when gender lines are more blurred than ever and the need to be defined as either male or female is dissipating, we are inspired to explore the idea of the undefined. Clothing is used as a form of self-expression, with this collection we intend to bridge the gap and provide a Neutral platform for people to do just that. We have taken a minimalistic approach, with comfort and wearability at the forefront. Using soft hand fabrics, heavy laundering and indigo dyes to create worn in timeless pieces. With subtle hints of workwear and utilitarian styling, each piece is designed for versatility, to look good and wear well on anyone and allow the wearer to style their own way.

STEVE POWERS Stephen Powers was born and raised in Philadelphia. Known by his graffiti name ESPO, he moved to New York City in 1994, working as a magazine publisher and graffiti writer before opening his studio in 1999. That year, Powers stopped writing graffiti and tending bar to dedicate himself to being a full-time artist. His work has been shown at Venice and Liverpool Biennials, as well as numerous shows (TO BE FAIR: 2.75 shows) at Deitch Projects. Powers was a Fulbright scholar in 2007. He used the grant to paint in the streets of Dublin and Belfast. His work in Belfast’s Lower Shankill area was inspired by the area’s political murals; Powers told the New York Times that he was “taking the form of the murals, which are powerful for all the wrong reasons, and trying to retain some of the power and use it in a really good way.”

Based out of Oahu, Hawaii, surf photographer Zak Noyle spends countless hours in the water creating dramatic imagery and artful interpretations of the magnificent ocean environment. From the crystal clarity of a breaking wave to the play of sunlight on a deep-ocean swell, Noyle brings a unique insider’s view to the colors, shapes and textures of the sea. Zak also has a great respect for the people that protect people from the waters of the North Shore of Hawaii, the North Shore Lifeguard Association. RVCA is proud to sponsor the NSLA and support their efforts. One of Zak’s sponsors is Da Fin Hawaii, who also sponsors the NSLA…so collectively, RVCA and Da Fin have produced a collaborative pack where a portion of the proceeds will go to support the NSLA.
