Welcome to the MAVV Farms 1st annual Bull and Female Event. We are excited to be hosting you at our new sale facility here on the farm just east of Okotoks. It has been a dream of mine to be able to host our own sale at home for a long time, and it looks as though that dream is about to come true. It’s been quite the journey and a lot of work to get here, therefor there are many people to thank as it was nothing but a team effort. Firstly, I want to thank the Round Up Group for having me be apart of their sale the past many years. It was not an easy decision to leave a group of people that I respect greatly. All my employees that have worked here for many years and have worked diligently to make sure that the facility and animals are ready for this event. Many friends and customers that have shown their support, given advice and just heard me out during the planning process of this sale. Their feedback and friendship were greatly appreciated as everything was coming together. And lastly my family, my Aunt Mary and Uncle Oz are a constant help around the farm since retiring from their actual paying jobs. My Mom and Dad have been onboard with my vision since day one and I am so grateful for everything they have done and continue to do. None of this would be possible without them. And finally, my kids Vanden and Vienna. Both have taken a strong interest in the farming operations this year which has been pretty special for me to witness as their Dad. There
are many others who deserve recognition, so thank you to all involved in making this sale come together.
We just finished coming off one of the best fall’s we have had in the commercial calf market for as many years as I can remember. It is so nice to see that all our hard work is getting rewarded, again this past fall more pounds equaled more dollars. It’s exciting times again in the cattle market and I’m excited and proud to be a part of it. Please join me and everyone else on December 15th for some good old-fashioned hospitality, nobody will leave hungry or thirsty.

Jacey 151J gets the honour of being the first animal cataloged in the 1st annual MAVV Farms Bull and Female Event at my own sale barn. I think she is very well deserving of this spot, she’s an absolute tank of a female. Jacey has a tremendous set of feet under her and she is dropping a beautiful udder. Her mother is a very hard working Anchor T Supreme female that puts everything into her calf. Her sire is Anchor D Rubicon, the senior walking Fleckvieh herd sire here and he is one of the most consistent Fleckvieh bulls I have ever used. As you go deeper into the catalog, you will see the tremendous set of bull calves that he produced as well. Trust me, you won’t be able to walk by Jacey on sale day!
Jada is another tank of a female, only this time in a polled version. Reputation needs no introduction; he has left a very impressive mark in our industry so far and in just a short amount of time. Jada has a ton of volume and I believe she will make one hell of a momma cow down the road. She could also be carrying the ultimate prize inside her, perhaps a polled Battle Cry calf would make her new owner a very, very happy fleckvieh enthusiast.
AI Bred to BEE Battle Cry March 26 (Safe). No Exposure.
Jianna is a very nice moderate framed heifer that can easily be admired. She is very soft made in her make up and she garners more attention from everyone around here each day. She has a very nice smooth polled head; I think she is a very attractive female. Anchor D Rubicon has been the senior herd sire around here for a couple of years and he always leaves the very best. A polled Rubicon is something of a rarity so I really do wish Jianne was staying home.
AI Bred to BEE Battle Cry May 24 (Safe). No Exposure.
Jewel is the result of how my heifer breeding program has been run over the last number of years. Jewel is a very dark, medium framed heifer sired by Anchor D Outlook. I have been using Outlook on my Battle Cry heifers and it has been working extremely well. I love the dark red color and big goggle eyes that Jewel carries around with her. I believe this could be a very cool mating with Rugged R Cavill for an early January baby.
AI Bred to Rugged R Cavill March 21 (Safe). No Exposure.
BEE BATTLE CRY 282B MI MISS EBERLE 40E MI MISS CLARABELLE 62C
Jazmine is sired by another senior herd sire Virginia Giordano, whom has walked here for a few years as well. He was my pick at the Bull Spectrum sale in his perspective year and has worked very well. He is so dark red and pigmented up that I do often get calves that are solid red with some white on the face. Jazmine just has a small white star on the top of her forehead. Her dam Eberle is one of my favorite fleckvieh cows that I look forward to seeing calve each year. She is also bred to “Full Tilt” my exciting new polled herd sire that was a sale topper at $42,000 this spring again at Bull Spectrum.
AI Bred to Virginia Full Tilt April 7. No Exposure.
Joy is a very attractive, soft smooth made female that checks all the boxes. She is very dark red and very attractive to look at. She is developing a very nice udder, but that doesn’t surprise me being a Brooks granddaughter. Brooks is by far the best bull that I have ever used as a red purebred bull. He did so much for my red program, I will never ever regret the decision to buy him, even though I wasn’t sure what the hell I just did when I did purchase him.
AI Bred to Spring Creek Maverick April 4 (Safe). No Exposure.
Joyce is an outcross pedigree for me with the Reds, she is a WHF Limitless daughter who I have had great success with as an AI sire for a couple of years now. Her dam is a black NCB Cobra daughter who did one hell of a job as a first calf heifer on Joyce. This heifer has a ton of middle to her and again is developing a nice udder, I think when you see her on sale day, you will really appreciate her even more. She is bred up early to the exciting Heat Wave bull owned by Michael Maronda and Lewis Farms.
AI Bred Circle G Heatwave March 22 (Safe). No Exposure.
Jen is a large framed black blazed face heifer, trust me she will be a bull making machine. Her depth and shape of rib are to be admired. If you stand back and analyze her, bull making momma will come to mind. Her mother is very similar in make up to her, big bodied brood cow is what you see. Lad 197E was a bull that I really like, unfortunately an injury ended his career earlier than I would have liked.
AI Bred Mader Son of Anarchy April 8 (Safe). No Exposure.
Jessa is another large framed black blazed heifer very similar to her ¾ sister Jen 123J. My strong opinion is that Jessa will again be a bull making momma. The udders that LAD 197E left on his females were very impressive, teat length and placement were both impeccable and his daughter’s milk very well. Jessa again is a very attractive female who I think you will appreciate more come sale day. Being bred to SOA, the blaze shall continue.
AI Bred Mader Son of Anarchy March 25 (Safe). No Exposure.
Jenny is one of the most eye appealing heifers in the pen. There is just something about her that catches your eye each time you walk in the pen. Jenny is a solid black medium sized framed heifer with lots of rib shape to her, smooth and complete all the way through. Again, I have used her sire with a lot of good luck in the heifer pen for a couple of years. I think her mother Genesis did a tremendous job as a first calf heifer. Genesis also goes back to Black Betty, who still to this day is one of my favorite cows on the place.
AI Bred Mader Son of Anarchy April 8 (Safe). No Exposure.
Jolie is a medium framed heifer that I have also been very excited about since birth. The heifers that BEE Emperor left me here have been fantastic. He was a Crosbyson son that I bought from the Beechnoir program, and he was an absolute tank. I really think that when a first calf heifer raises a heck of a calf the first time around, they tend to have bright futures ahead of them.
Jolie is developing a beautiful udder, I think she will follow well in her momma’s footsteps. AI Bred Mader Son of Anarchy April 8 (Safe). No Exposure.
Bella Anne is maybe the softest made female in the group. I really admire the complete body make up in this very moderate framed female. Her dam raised a pretty wicked Assassin daughter in Bryan’s Tradition with a Vision sale in 2020 that resides at Yarrow Creek Ranch. She also raised a pretty wicked Mulberry son this year that sells as lot 64.
PE Exposed to SSS Fat Cat DBB 323J from March 31-May 30. (Safedue January 2023)
Blackbird is a very easy doing, easy going Red Ringstead Kargo daughter. I believe that her mother did a hell of a job as a first calf heifer, you can only assume that this heifer will do the same. If you look up Kargo on the CAA website, he has just about 330 registered progeny. If Blackbird happens to be carrying a little bull calf inside, you may think you have just won the lottery.
PE Exposed to
Fat Cat DBB 323J from March 31-May 30. (Safe - due late January/early February 2023)
Reba comes from a long line of greats. When I purchased these great Angus cows from Brylor Ranch, Bryan took me on quite a tour the day I went down. The Reba cow family was obviously one of his favorites and it doesn’t take long to figure out why!! They are so special that there is talk of an entire sale featured around one Cow! Her sire was a high seller from Mar Mac’s in his respected year but unfortunately was lost to early.
PE Exposed to SSS Fat Cat DBB 323J from March 31-May 30. Observed bred April 3/2022 (Safe).
• IPU Elevation son that comes from one of my top producing young cows that is quickly becoming one of my favorites. She is a Blueprint daughter that has an awesome udder. Her dam is 53Z who still continues to produce here as well.
• Big, bodied rascal that pushed the scale down at 945 pounds on weaning day.
• 211F, as a first calver raised a bull that sold in last years bull sale to Reid Snodgrass of Snodgrass Farms.
• Homozygous Polled/Dilutor Free
• Deep dark red powerhouse son of IPU Elevation 35G again. One of the later born fullblood bulls on offer, but every bit as good as his older brothers.
• Very attractive smooth polled head, and continues to be smooth through the front shoulders to a huge middle and square back end.
• His dam is also a very moderate made, nice udder big volumed female that just works. She traces back to the JB Kananaskis cow family on the bottom side.
• A very good stout, performance type bull again sired by IPU Elevation. He has a large white face with a small goggle under his right eye.
• Dam is a Virginia Ranch female I purchased a few years ago, that goes back to a D bar L bred female that I believe Harry picked at the dispersal. Lots of old time fleckvieh greats stack up in the bottom side of her pedigree.
• Dilutor Free
• Don’t let the color fool you. This is one of the thickest made bulls in the pen.
• When you study him, he moves so easy. Nice and smooth through the front end with a massive amount of rib to him and a huge hip.
• Nice smooth polled head.
• His Battle Cry dam is one of my favorite fullblood cows on the farm. I look forward to her calf every year.
Dilutor Carrier
• Deep, deep dark red son of IPU Elevation again. I wish that I could make them all as dark red as this dude.
• His dam is a very moderate framed Battle Cry daughter, and this guy follows in her footsteps. I think his mom has a bright future ahead of her.
• Dilutor Free
• A more moderate framed, smooth made bull to finish off the Elevation sons.
• I really like the smoothness that this bull posses from front to back, he’s very neat and tidy through the front end but has a big rib in him and a square made hip.
• 202F is a cow that I believe is going to be here for a long time. She’s an honest producing cow out of my flush cow 64B. She has left some tremendous females in my herd via embryo transplant and naturally that will continue to show up in the coming years.
• Dilutor Free
• The deep sided, soft made tank that pushed the scale down the heaviest in all of the Anchor D Rubicon calves.
• He’s long spined, big ribbed, lots of guts and middle to him that just make him plain good.
• Check out the deep dark red color and full face pigmentation that make him a very attractive bull to look at.
• Dam is a big barrelled full fleckvieh cow that has always been a producer. A cow that everyone loves to have, low maintenance and produces the very best each time. A couple years ago she had twin heifers and they sold to Sunville Simmentals and Virginia Ranch

• Very moderate 101 lbs with a ton of performance behind him.
• Dam is another favorite Battle Cry daughter that I fall in love with more each year.
• Dilutor Free
• Very stout made Rubicon son again. Lots of hair in this dark red package.
• Mother is a polled cow that was inside her dam when I purchased from Keet’s Simmentals a few years back in Red Deer.
• I really like the foot and leg structure under this bull, I think you will really admire the way that he walks.
• Hetro Polled/ Dilutor Free
• A stout made Rubicon son with lots of rib and hip packed into him. He’s solid red with two big goggles and excellent testicle development thus far.
• His Dam is a big soggy type of cow, that has put four females into my herd, so a bull calf this year is a first.
• He should go out and sire females that you will want to keep and build a whole herd of.
• Dilutor Free
• A very attractive son again out of Anchor D Rubicon. He is definitely a head turner and you will notice him in the pen for sure.
• I bought his dam from the Ricochet dispersal a few years ago and she has been a solid producer since coming here.
• These Rubicon sons seem to be no miss, and it doesn’t surprise me given the way that the old bull himself has performed around here.
• Dilutor Free
• Big bodied Virginia Giordano son that pushed the scales down at weaning with an actual weight of 905 pounds.
• Huge volume cow is two words I would use to describe his mother. She is a tank and always produces me one of the best.
• Full brother sold in last years sale as a high seller to Cody Jackson of Sundre Alberta and one the year before to Snodgrass Farms of High River.
• She also has 2 daughters in my herd here, so you know that she can produce the best.
• Dilutor Carrier
• Almost completely solid red, this Giordano son carries a little white star on the top of his forehead.
• Very moderate 98 pound birth weight but still managed to push the scale down at 830 pounds come weaning time.
• Mother is a very easy doing type of female, but she comes by it honestly being an Anchor T Supreme daughter.
• Dilutor Free
• Big, hairy, soggy made Battle Cry son that is one of the most eye appealing bulls in the pen.
• I bought his dam as a heifer calf from Chad Smith of Clearwater Simmentals in their first annual bull sale in Olds. I knew a lot about her as she was inside a heifer that I watched Chad buy just the year previous.
• Look at some of the old fleckvieh greats in her pedigree.
• Dilutor Free
• Very smooth made heifer type of bull with this son of Battle Cry.
• Moderate frame, nice hair coat, excellent pigmentation and very well balanced are 4 phrases that you could use to describe this guy.

• Dilutor Free
• Definite no miss heifer bull in the fullblood pen.
• Started with just a 65 pound birth weight, but pushed the scale down at 770 pounds at weaning time, off a first calf heifer. Battle cry has always done that for us, easy calving but lots of performance to them as well.

• A bull that has a ton of rib to him, a ton of guts and solid muscled all the way through.
HETRO POLLED
• This IPU Lotto 148H son is a red bull that I’m pretty excited about. He posses lots of rib in him and he exhibits that extra muscle expression so well, he’s become a favorite.
• Lotto 148H came to me from the very respected program of Labatte Simmentals. He was the high selling Red bull in 2021 and a bull that Barry was very high on.
• His dam is a very good producing black cow that has a bull working at Lomond Colony and a string of heifers that have stayed here in herd.
• HOMO POLLED
• Performance Lotto son that pushed the scale down as the heaviest red bull at weaning time.
• Dam is a beautiful 2nd calver Beechnoir bred PWK Cliffhanger daughter that I bought as a bred heifer a few years ago. She raised a bull last year that sold to Miller Cattle Co.
• Lotto has really impressed me with the first set of calves we have on the ground.
• HOMO POLLED
• Dark red meat machine, again sired by Lotto 148H.

• HOMO POLLED
• Big stout made son of Erixon G Money, a Double Bar D Liberator son that I absolutely loved, but unfortunately lost him to a shoulder injury much too young.
• Dam is a Brooks daughter that may be one of my favorites. Her dam is 19A, a cow around here that everyone loves, and we always look forward to her calf.
• Very nice 87-pound BW but pushed the scale down at 850 on weaning day.
• HETRO POLLED
• Big stout made G Money son again with a good amount of performance behind him.

• Dam goes back to the CMS 155Y cow, she’s been here a while and keeps raising me the good ones. • HOMO POLLED

• Very moderate 85-pound birth weight but pushed the scale down at 750 lbs off a first calf heifer.
• Dam was bought as a high selling heifer calf from Mader’s at Friday Night Lights.

• HOMO BLACK/HOMO POLLED

•
• Very wide topped muscle machine again sired by Head Games 56G.
• He really needs to be admired from front to back. He has lots of rib shape to him, and a very correct foot and leg structure.
• Maybe the most eye appealing bull in the pen, you definitely won’t miss him.
• Stout made and thick all the way through.
• Sired again by the Head Games 56G bull, a bull that Bryan and Sherry bought for $13,000 from Howe’s in Saskatchewan.
• Dam is a very neat and moderate female.
• Long spined, wide topped Head Games 56G son.
• Dam is of the infamous Nikita cow family that Bryan raves about.
• Dam raised a bull calf last year that sold to Ken Mackenzie from Golden BC.
• An absolute tank of a bull to start the Red Ter-Ron Freeway bulls.
• Look at the massive rib in this bull, but also look at the length of spine on him. This dude will add pounds to a calf crop.
• You will want to keep every female this bull produces, they will be dam good.
• No miss heifer bull, sired by Red Ter-Ron Freeway.
• Lots of performance to him as well, weaning at 710 lbs of a beautiful 2nd calving U2 malbec daughter.
• If you’re looking for calving ease, but don’t want to give up on performance than this is your guy!
• Another heifer bull here, again sired by Freeway.
• He needs to be admired for the way that he is soft made and his overall smoothness from front to back.
• Very correct on his foot and leg structure.
• Very long spined and wide topped Freeway son again.
• Dam is a beautiful three year old Assassin daughter.
• Very good temperament on this bull, but all the freeway sons are no exception.

• Dam is also the dam of Lot 12, the wicked bred heifer sired by Marshall.
• Look at the way this dude pushed the scale down at 765 lbs at weaning. Heaviest bull in the pen.

• Dam is a very nice uddered Apex daughter that came from the mighty Red Round Up sale.
• Very attractive made bull that should have some friends on sale day.
