Acapulco had its peak during the 1950’s, when Hollywood stars gathered on its beaches as if it were the French Riviera. Nostalgia for that time seems to permeate everything and it can be part of the romantic atmosphere of your celebration if you marry here. This destination is divided in three areas: the Traditional Acapulco, where downtown and the old port are located; the Golden Zone, with its classical beaches extending around the main bay; and Punta Diamante, full of luxury hotels and residential complexes.

Admire the famous divers who jump off La Quebrada, and also take a boat tour to visit La Roqueta Island, located in front of Caleta and Caletilla beaches. The sea in this area is ideal for diving lovers.

Go in search of the Casa de Dolores Olmedo, the house of an art collector who was also the muse and friend of Diego Rivera. In 1956, Rivera covered the facade of this building with snakes and other motifs made of tiles.

Visit the Historical Museum of Acapulco Fuerte de San Diego, a 17th century building designed to defend the harbor from pirate attacks. Nowadays, archaeological finds from the surrounding areas are exhibited there, as well as nautical instruments and objects that show the trade that New Spain had with the East.
