Beginners Courses with CLPC in the course code

If you are aged 60 or over at the start of the course, you will be entitled to have your fees waived, whether you are in employment or not. You will need a bus pass, birth certificate or driving licence to enrol, as proof of your age. You may be entitled to have your fees waived for a course up to Level 2 if you:

1) Are unemployed and receive an eligible benefit and are taking the course to help you find employment or improve your current employment situation and the course is relevant to your job prospect. Evidence of benefit/s must be preferably dated within 3 months of enrolment date and not more than 6 months prior. Eligible benefits are: • JSA including National

Insurance credit only • ESA (WRAG) • Income Support • Working Tax Credit • Housing Benefit • Council Tax Benefit (not single person discount) • Universal Credit - Work Preparation Group, Work Focused Interview Group, Work Related Requirement Groups

2) Work and earn less than £18,525 per year: This will need to be evidenced by one wage slip dated within 3 months or your current employment contract stating your gross wage. 3) If you don’t already have a full Level 2 qualification in any subject and need to study at a lower level in order to progress to Level 2: A full Level 2 qualification is equivalent to one A Level pass, two or three AS Levels, five or more GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or an NVQ 2. There are other qualifications which are equivalent to a full Level 2 so please ask if you are unsure. You will be asked to sign a self-declaration at enrolment.

Level 3 courses if you are aged 19 - 23 at the start of the course

You may be entitled to have your fees waived if you do not already have a full Level 3 qualification in any subject. A full Level 3 qualification is equivalent to two or more A Level passes, four or more AS Levels, or an NVQ 3 Diploma (subsidiary or above). There are other qualifications which are equivalent to a full Level 3 so please ask if you are unsure. You may be asked to sign a self-declaration form at enrolment. There are new opportunities for adult learners to undertake selected Level 3 qualifications for free, especially Greater Manchester residents. Residency of Learners (Not applicable to full cost courses)

If you are a non-UK national and have been living in the EEA/EU/UK for 3+ years then you will need to upload evidence of your EU Settlement Scheme status. This can be your EUSS share code. If you are have one of the following immigration statuses then you will be required to upload evidence of this: • Refugee status • Discretionary, Exceptional or Indefinite leave to enter or remain • Humanitarian protection • Leave outside the rules • Afghan Locally Engaged Staff under the intimidation policy • The husband, wife, civil partner or child of any of the above • Section 67 of the Immigration Act 2016 leave • Calais leave to remain • Asylum Seeker and has lived in the country for 6 months or longer

How can you pay for your course?

1) You can pay for your course in full by credit/debit card when you enrol online. You cannot currently pay online by instalments but we hope to bring this facility to you soon. 2) You can also enrol online if you do not have to pay the fees or you are using an Advanced Learner Loan to pay for the course. You will need to upload evidence of your benefits and income as applicable. 3) If you are struggling to enrol online we will have a limited number of in-college enrolment appointments available over the summer period. Please contact enrolment support at learner.hub@boltoncc.ac.uk or ring 01204 482 004 for assistance. Instalment payments may be available for in-college enrolments for courses over £150 and more than 12 weeks long. The total cost of the course is split into six equal payments. You will need to pay the first one when you enrol. If you enrol before your course starts in September the second payment will not come out until 1st October. You will need your bank card and branch details. These must be in your name. All fees must be paid before the course end date and therefore the number of instalments may be reduced. If you do not pay for your course, you will need to bring evidence of your benefit or income.

Free* Free CLPC course for anyone aged 60 on 31st August of the year the course starts, or aged 60 on the start date of the course. Q Learners enrolling on these courses must bring their prior qualification certificates with them to enrolment.

Learners may be entitled to a free course or concession (reduced fee) depending on their circumstances. Contact your nearest centre or visit www.boltoncollege.ac.uk/fees to check if you are eligible.

Free Level 3 course tuition for anyone aged 19-23 (aged 19 on 31st August/aged 23 on the day they start the course) who does not already hold a full Level 3 qualification or higher in any subject. Enrolling on eligible courses only.

• Eligible learners may only receive one Free* course at Level 2 and one Free* course at Level 3. • If you receive free course tuition, you may still need to pay other costs such as materials or exam fees. • Some £ (full-cost) courses may be available for funding at other institutions. • The College reserves the right to cancel courses if student numbers are insufficient for them to run, and to change course qualifications if the qualification is no longer eligible for public funding.
