STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD Studying overseas is an opportunity to experience a new culture, become independent and make friends from all over the world. But it can also be quite challenging to start a new life in a new country – particularly at larger universities where you can very easily get lost in the crowd. With fewer than 5,000 students, Bond University is uniquely set up to ensure our international students get the absolute best out of their overseas study experience. Our personalised teaching philosophy means our students learn in smaller class sizes with unprecedented access to their teachers. We also have a dedicated International Student Support Team offering guidance, counselling and advice on everything from homesickness to exam preparation. We ensure every student develops key employability skills and personal attributes that will ensure they stand out to future employers. Our Beyond Bond program provides undergraduate students with a range of professional activities tailored to their career goals. For our postgraduate students, we offer ‘Professional’ master’s programs in a range of study areas. These incorporate a 20-week work integrated learning semester to ensure they stand out to future employers. We offer English language programs, tutoring and extra study support, mentoring and buddy / friendship programs, and 24 / 7 security. We also have an active student association that organises regular events, special interest clubs and societies, sporting teams and social nights where you will meet new friends and future professional colleagues who will be a part of your life long after you have finished your degree. You will work hard and study hard but you’ll also meet lots of new people, build a worldwide network of friends and business contacts, and learn so much more about yourself and what you are capable of. We look forward to sharing ‘our’ Australia with you as part of a study experience that will quite literally change your life.

GRADUATE SOONER Our three semester academic calendar with start dates in January, May and September means you can graduate sooner and achieve your goals faster.
ACCELERATED PROGRAMS Bond’s teaching calendar is based on three semesters per year rather than the usual two. Our programs start earlier in the year with shorter breaks between each semester so you can graduate much sooner. You could also complete a combined degree, or an undergraduate and postgraduate degree, in less time than it would take to complete a single degree at another university.
In addition to fast-tracked programs, Bond offers a range of 2 year ‘Professional’ master’s programs for international students interested in applying for a Post Study Work visa. Our semester start dates are in January, May and September to give you more flexibility about when to start your degree.

Being able to finish my combined degree up to a year ahead of other universities, and the high quality teaching and learning environments, drove my decision to come to Bond. The small classes here have allowed me to engage more with other students and build better relationships with my lecturers. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, which helped me to adjust into a whole new environment very quickly.

YOUR OPTIONS EXPLAINED UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS BACHELOR’S DEGREE Admission to a bachelor’s degree is usually based on high school academic results and English language criteria.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Bond University has specific English language entry requirements for each of our programs. See page 82 or the individual program listings for further details.
PATHWAY OPTIONS If you don’t meet the academic entry requirements for your chosen bachelor’s degree, you could study the Bond University College Foundation Program, Diploma Preparation Program or a Higher Education Diploma at Bond University College as a pathway first. See page 76 for further details.
CREDIT TRANSFER You may be able to transfer subject credits into your chosen Bond degree for previous post-secondary studies in a relevant or related field. You can apply for a credit transfer by including certified copies of transcripts from your previous studies, detailed course outlines and subject descriptions. For more information, visit bond.edu.au/credit.
POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMS Admission to postgraduate coursework degrees generally requires a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, however in some cases, extensive career experience in a relevant industry may meet the entry criteria. Bond also offers ‘Professional’ master’s programs for students in a range of different study areas, where you can incorporate a 20-week work integrated learning semester to complement your postgraduate program. This extensive industry experience will improve your knowledge, skills and employability, helping you stand out to future employers.
Our semester start dates are in January, May and September to give you more flexibility about when you start your degree. STUDY SCHEDULE International students must commit to a full-time study load as a requirement of their Australian student visa. A full-time study load is the equivalent of three to four subjects per semester.
The John & Alison Kearney Main Library houses over 240,000 ebooks, 120,000 physical items and 75,000 electronic and print journals.

HIGHER DEGREES BY RESEARCH (HDR) Admission to HDR programs generally requires a bachelor’s degree with Class I or Class II Honours, a postgraduate qualification incorporating a significant research component, or a record of significant research experience deemed to be of a comparable standard to a bachelor’s degree with Class I or Class II Honours. See page 75 for further details.
GRADUATE SOONER WITH OUR THREE SEMESTER SYSTEM Bond’s teaching calendar is based on three semesters per year, rather than the usual two. Our programs start earlier in the year, with shorter breaks between each semester so you can graduate much sooner. You could also complete a combined degree or an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in less time than it would take to complete a single degree at another university.

With three semesters a year, my degree is going by so fast. My teachers have become my mentors and have encouraged me to be more creative; to think differently, and to aim higher in my study and my future career. I have also been lucky to secure a part-time job with an architecture firm while studying, which was offered to me through a lecturer at Bond.

I learnt about Bond through my agent, and knew I wanted to live and study on the Gold Coast. The lifestyle is amazing, the weather is sunny and warm – and so are the people. I feel very welcomed, with Halal food and even a prayer room on campus.

STEVEN STERN
Professor of Data Science Custodian of the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) system I don’t teach facts, I teach ideas. I’m not interested in my students regurgitating facts and theories about stats; I want them to understand the real reasons behind data analysis methods and understand how and when analytic techniques should, and more importantly shouldn’t, be used. Data analysis is the skill of the future. If you know how to understand and analyse data, there is no industry or career in the world you can’t be involved in somehow. *Fees per semester are based on an average calculation of 2021 fees and may differ depending on the subjects and majors you take in each semester. The Foundation Program has given me a new outlook on university life; where the class learning environment is very calm and interesting and has prepared me for what to expect during my degree. I am so glad to be given the opportunity and happy to have made a decision I know I will never regret.
