Bond is located on Kombumerri country
The Kombumerri ‘Salt Water’ peoples’ traditional boundaries stretch from the Coomera River down to the Tweed River, and the foothills of the mountains.
As the first people of the region, the Kombumerri lived off the land and the water, with several dialects spoken in this region.
The Kombumerri people and their descendants have looked after this land and its wildlife for more than 20,000 years, and continue to maintain their spiritual connections and traditions today.
Bond University acknowledges the Kombumerri people, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which the University now stands. We pay our respect to Elders past, present and emerging.

Bond students find a ‘gateway to the world’
As part of Bond University’s overseas study tour offerings, our international relations students have the opportunity to travel to New York City to immerse themselves in diplomacy through the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) International Model United Nations (WIMUN) Conference.
The January 2024 cohort got to play tourist in ‘The Big Apple’ as well as demonstrate everything they learned in the classroom, on the international stage. Bachelor of International Relations student Elsie Lamb led Bond’s delegation of five students and they won the Best Small Delegation (University) Award.
“The highlight was networking and getting to know the role diplomacy plays in the field of international relations,” said Elsie.
“At Bond we learn so much about the practical side of things. We practised and trained for four months beforehand. For the opening statement I gave at the UN Assembly Hall, I only found out about that the day before. I spoke in front of thousands of people in Times Square, pretending they were my crowd. We were lifting each other up and helping each other throughout the whole experience. It was truly a team experience, a gateway to understanding what happens in the world and something that I will definitely take forward into my career.”

Your degree decoded
There is a lot of terminology that comes with tertiary study. Here’s a handy glossary to help you navigate your next steps.
Entry requirements
Admission to a bachelor’s degree is based on Year 12 academic results (ATAR, IB or equivalent) or on the completion of a recognised pathway program. In 2020, the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) replaced the Overall Position (OP) as the primary tertiary admissions factor for Queensland Year 12 students.
Bachelor’s degrees
A bachelor’s degree is an undergraduate award of 24 subjects which is commonly the entry qualification required for many professions or further study. Most subjects have a value of 10 credit points (cps). Ultimately, successfully completed subjects will need to total 240cps for a standard bachelor’s degree. Exceptions include the Bachelor of Laws and the Medical Program^.
Prerequisites
Some Bond University programs require students to have completed specific subjects, known as prerequisites, to be eligible for entry. These may have been completed in high school or a pathway program such as a diploma. Please refer to individual program listings for more information.
Diplomas
Diplomas are non-degree offerings. A diploma can also be completed as a pathway for students who do not meet the academic requirements for direct entry into their chosen bachelor’s degree.
Majors, minors and double majors
A major is a cluster of six subjects selected from one area of specialisation, a minor is four subjects, and a double major is 12 subjects. Depending on your program, a major, minor or double major can provide an opportunity to pursue a complementary interest area.

Diploma programs provide an admission pathway for a number of our bachelor’s degrees. Please refer to page 90 for more details.
* Entrance scores are only indicative and are subject to change for 2026 entry. Applicants will require a comparable score to be considered for admission into our bachelor’s programs. Applicants who do not meet this minimum entry score will instead be considered for admission into a Bond University College pathway program. In addition to our minimum admission requirements, some of our bachelor’s programs may require a higher minimum entry score, the successful completion of subject prerequisites, and/or additional selection criteria relevant to that specific program. ‘IB’ refers to a score granted upon completion of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program.
** Students with a minimum ATAR of 65 may be considered for admission based on the merit of their portfolio.
° Prerequisites are required for entry into these programs. Please refer to individual program listings for details.
^ The Medical Program is comprised of two sequential degrees - the Bachelor of Medical Studies and the Doctor of Medicine. Applications for the Medical Program must be lodged through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

Thomas Hauck
ELITE SWIMMER. RESEARCH ASSISTANT.
BACHELOR OF ACTUARIAL SCIENCE STUDENT.
I chose to study actuarial science because I have always enjoyed maths and problem solving, so I knew I wanted to apply those skills in my career. For me, actuarial science provides the perfect mixture of these skills and practical applications.
At Bond I have been able to make connections with my academics and gain valuable experience as a research assistant in the Centre for Data Analytics. This has already led to multiple job opportunities and given me a head start in my career.
My advice to high school students is talk to an expert! Whether it’s speaking with a current student, taking a campus tour or meeting academics directly, there are so many people at Bond who are willing to introduce you to the University and help you make your decision.

BACHELOR OF ACTUARIAL SCIENCE
Do you love maths? Solving puzzles? The Bachelor of Actuarial Science (CRICOS 083205M) could be for you. Actuarial Science is the most mathematically based degree offered by Bond Business School. Its foundation is in theoretical maths skills – especially probability theory - but Actuarial Science is about using maths as a mode of thinking and being able to discern which theory of maths to apply to certain situations.
Actuaries are most well known for their involvement in insurance and superannuation, but actuaries exist in any business where quantitative risk is involved. For example, actuaries could find employment anywhere from the treasury, through to investment banking, hedge funds, or mergers and acquisitions.
Maths B is a compulsory entry requirement for this degree.

In this Honours program, you will complete all the necessary Part II (Actuary Program) subjects, including two online units, to be accredited as an actuary by the Actuaries Institute. This sets this program apart from the Bachelor of Actuarial Science, which only provides Part I accreditation and does not qualify you to become a practising actuary.

• Gain an internationally recognised Bloomberg certification used in the finance and banking sectors.
^ To be considered for entry, students must achieve an average minimum score of Credit in a relevant undergraduate degree.
BACHELOR OF DATA ANALYTICS
course code 116378B
As the name suggests, the Bachelor of Data Analytics (CRICOS 116378B) focuses on the application of data to drive better business outcomes. Data analysts or data scientists use data to predict the likely outcome of a situation, using data science to maximise profits and improve business efficiencies. Data scientists are sought-after in all industries. They’re even needed in the health industry, where data science could inform how we manage hospital waiting rooms or operating theatres more efficiently. Prospective Data Analytics students aren’t necessarily mathematicians. But they’re problem solvers, may have computational and programming skills, and might even have a scientific background.

The FinTech Hub
Providing students with financial training and services, the Bond FinTech Hub is a cuttingedge on-campus facility. It’s made up of three rooms — the Trading Room, the Dealing Room and the Clearing House — two of which are equipped with a collective 40 Bloomberg Terminals, more than any university in Australia. Students across finance, data analytics, actuarial science and other disciplines regularly have class in the FinTech Hub, where they’ll learn how to execute deals, manage portfolios, trade financial securities and adapt to changing market conditions.
A cause close to home
Forest devastation fuels researcher’s pursuit to promote energy justice
The local devastation caused by deforestation is close to home for Bond University Assistant Professor of Economics Alex Acheampong. Remnants of the lush forests his grandma described as once surrounding their village (now a town) in Ghana dwindled as Dr Acheampong grew up.
“It was greener. In the villages, they described a lot of trees and bushes but those have all disappeared. Now, it’s not like it used to be even in the early 2000s. It’s really sad.”
The deforestation that Dr Acheampong describes of the area he grew up in, in Ghana, in sub-Saharan Africa, was in part caused by urbanisation and the reliance on forest resources for energy. About a third of the world’s population depends on woodfuel and other biomass as sources of energy. And dependence on woodfuel, the cheapest form of energy, is highest in Africa where about 63 per cent of the population uses it.
This reliance on woodfuel has not only led to endangering biodiversity in the local communities, but endangering the world through its impact on climate change. Dr Acheampong has joined the global race against climate change to prevent the escalation of devastation he saw in his own backyard.
Using advanced economic techniques, Dr Acheampong examines the potential impact of bridging the infrastructure gap between rural and urban areas, policy strategies, and the role that democratic systems play in these relationships.

Elizabeth Sammut
CREATIVE. EXCELLENCE SCHOLAR. CHANGE-MAKER.
I chose to study a Bachelor of Design in Architecture because I want to learn how to create comfortable and beautiful spaces for people and I am interested in discovering new ways to help deal with changes in climate and populations.
My favourite thing about my program is the opportunity to work closely with, and learn from, many experienced architects.
It is amazing that I am known by name by all my tutors, which allows them to better support and encourage me through my studies.
Architects are responsible for envisioning and creating the world around us, from the smallest of dwellings through to complex megacities. The Bachelor of Design in Architecture provides a broad education in design, planning, construction, technology, and communication in a creative studio-based environment. Students are encouraged to grow their design skills through a hands-on approach to the curriculum and access to state-of-the-art digital tools.
This program provides the foundation for careers in a range of design and creative practice fields, with a specialisation in the discipline of architecture. To practise as an architect in Australia, graduates must complete further study.
Key features
• Use state-of-the-art technology including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and industrial robots.
• Study in small classes and a dedicated studio environment.
• Learn from industry-leading architects through tutorials, critiques, competitions, and the Architecture Lecture Series.

Samantha Strauss is writing a new narrative for Australian television
Samantha is a multi-award-winning writer known for creating characters with complexity, but she didn’t consider herself a strong writer until, while studying a Bachelor of Film and Television at Bond, she received feedback from a guest lecturer — actor, director and The Comedy Company writer Ian McFadyen. “You’ve got talent, you know.
You should keep doing this,” he told Samantha after reading her script.
Ian’s encouragement came at the right time. The first film Samantha wrote at Bond was set at a dance school, and went on to become Dance Academy, a teen drama that still screens in 160 countries.
From the first draft of Dance Academy, Samantha has been committed to socially impactful stories.
“For me, the power of writing is digging under the skin,” she says. “It’s about investigating stories that haven’t had their time in the sunshine, letting the sunlight in and finding hope through those conversations.”
This metaphor inspired the name of Samantha’s production company Picking Scabs. She is part of a cohort of Australian women carving their reputation in the international film industry. As her career has taken off, she has chosen to focus on Australian projects and is among the growing number of filmmakers advocating for the introduction of local content requirements for major streaming platforms.

The deadly impact of antibiotic overprescription — and what you can do to help
We’ve all been there. After days (that can often feel like weeks) of suffering cold and flu symptoms, we head to our local doctor hoping to find a solution. But our desire for short-term relief from sickness is contributing to some long-term — and deadly — consequences.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) happens when different types of organisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, stop responding to medicines.
It’s a growing and very serious issue, with deaths from AMR predicted to overtake cancer deaths by 2050. Bond University Assistant Professor, Dr Mina Bakhit, leads research into antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) at the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare (IEBH).
Dr Bakhit’s IEBH research team, alongside researchers across Australia, have been granted $4 million by The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) to combat inappropriate antibiotic use in Australian clinical practice.
The five-year clinical implementation trial aims to identify the most effective strategy for intervention in primary care settings, to reduce the use of antibiotics and — in turn — reduce resistance in the broader community.
“More than one-third of the Australian population had at least one antibiotic in 2022, with most antibiotic prescriptions happening in a community setting,” points out Dr Bakhit.
“We’ll be inviting general practitioners (GPs) to help co-design intervention packages that use proven approaches, including audit and feedback strategies and information handouts, to target primary care patients with acute respiratory infections.”
Dr Bakhit says patients should always ask their doctor, “Is this antibiotic prescription necessary?”.

Sienna Grubb
VICE CHANCELLOR’S ELITE SCHOLAR. VOLUNTEER. BEACH LOVER.
Moving across the country to study at Bond seemed scary at first but it has taught me things about myself I wouldn’t otherwise have learnt.
I travelled to Japan to represent Bond at the Japan-English Model United Nations held at Kindai University. We attended the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, met the Counsellor for Public Affairs, and I was awarded the Diplomacy Award for my efforts representing Mexico.
Through Bond, I also visited Nepal to live in a rural village for three weeks, teaching kids in schools and helping to paint an entire building and render a new classroom. It was the most amazing experience.

Jay Lakhana
DOCTOR-IN-TRAINING. VOLLEYBALLER. SYDNEYSIDER.
I started at Bond in the Bachelor of Biomedical Science and started the Medical Program in 2024. Bond’s small class sizes have allowed me to get to know my entire cohort and make lifelong friendships. My advice to future university students is to put yourself out there. Everyone is in the same boat so make the most of every opportunity.
Designed to meet the needs of today’s complex healthcare environment, Bond’s Medical Program^ will equip you with the fundamental knowledge, skills and attributes required to practice medicine safely and effectively. You’ll graduate with the clinical, interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills required to deliver high-quality healthcare outcomes, as well as an ingrained commitment to care for yourself, your colleagues, and all community groups.
The Medical Program^ comprises two sequential degrees. You’ll first be required to complete the Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt) [CRICOS 0101292], where you will participate in small group learning, simulation activities, community and clinical placements, and a cultural immersion experience.
You’ll then complete the Doctor of Medicine (MD) [CRICOS 11520H] to be eligible to practice medicine. You’ll engage in evidence-based medicine and integrated placements within clinical sites and will gain extended exposure to areas including child health, medicine, mental health, surgery, and women’s health.
Bond’s intensive program of 4 years and 8 months is the shortest pathway to a Medical Doctorate in Australia.
Professional accreditation and recognition
The Medical Program^ is accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and ensures graduates meet or exceed the agreed national guidelines for medical education. Upon successful completion of the Medical Program^, graduates are eligible for registration as a medical practitioner in any state or territory in Australia or New Zealand.
Further study
Graduates of the Medical Program^ will have the appropriate knowledge, attitudes, and skills to work effectively as interns in Australian and New Zealand hospitals and will be ideally positioned to undergo further training in any of the Australasian specialty colleges.
Professional outcomes
• Medical specialisation including general practice
• Surgical specialisation

For their projects of choice, we have seen an array of interesting concepts, such as developing tiny homes, setting up a taco truck, transporting an elephant between zoos, planning a wedding in the Canadian Rockies, and renovating an apartment building. From Jawoyn Country to Tonga and Bangladesh, our Bond University community is made richer by the diverse community of students, from across Australia and the globe, who call our campus home. Learning about their traditions and family stories inspired Indigenous Student Success and Wellness Officer Teresa Blair to capture a glimpse of their cultural heritage. Whatever your ambition, your journey to realising it starts right now.
Things to consider when choosing a degree and university
Where you’ll attend university, and what you’ll study, is one of the biggest decisions you will make in your life. To help you navigate this next chapter with confidence, we’re sharing some advice on how to ensure you find the right fit for you.
Your interests
What subjects were your strongest at school? What types of topics and careers fascinate you? When do you feel the most ‘you’?
A great first step is to align your study to your passions, interests and ambitions, so spend some time reflecting on what you are interested in and start there when browsing program options.
How you learn best
Do you learn best independently, or do you prefer personal guidance and hands-on learning? Your learning environment is a crucial part of university study, and one that can surprise students who are transitioning from high school into a large university. Attend Open Days, explore websites, and ensure you’re aware of all of your options, and the differences between them, before making a decision.
Your future career outcomes
When you think of your future career, what comes to mind? If there are certain careers or jobs that you can imagine yourself doing, think about what degree and university is best going to get you there considering the program and opportunities to gain work experience and build your employability.

Financing your degree
Bond University is a fully independent, not-for-profit institution that invests 100 per cent of your tuition fees into providing a five-star educational experience, state-of-the-art facilities, and a truly personalised student framework. While our tuition fees are not subsidised by the Australian Government, they can be financed through a number of options including government assistance packages.
FEE-HELP
FEE-HELP is an interest-free student loan program funded by the Australian Government for all Australian citizens and others who meet the eligibility requirements. Similar to HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP allows eligible students to defer their tuition fees until after they graduate, when they can then be paid off in regular instalments.
From 1 January, 2020, a combined HELP loan limit replaced the FEE-HELP limit and includes FEE-HELP, VET Student Loans, VET FEE-HELP, and HECS-HELP. Only HECS-HELP borrowing from 1 January, 2020 onwards counts towards a person’s HELP limit. Any existing FEE-HELP, VET FEE-HELP or VET Student Loans that counted towards your FEE-HELP limit will count towards the combined HELP limit.
In 2025, the combined HELP loan limit is $126,839 for most students. The limit for students in the Medical Program is $182,172. Repayments are made through the taxation system at a minimum rate of 1 per cent per annum when your annual income reaches $54,435. The rate of repayment increases as annual income increases. You can apply for FEE-HELP online once you have received an offer from Bond University with your Student Identification Number. studyassist.gov.au
Living costs
Loyalty discounts
Bond offers a number of loyalty discounts to students who have a direct family member attending an eligible program at Bond or who have completed an eligible program here. These loyalty programs may provide a reduction of up to 10 per cent on tuition fees.
Other government assistance
Most Australian students who receive some form of government income support are on either Youth Allowance or AUSTUDY / ABSTUDY. Contact Centrelink for more information on eligibility.
Student Opportunity Fund
As a Bond student, you will have access to a range of experiences and activities to enhance your learning. The Student Opportunity Fund can help to finance those added extras with assistance available up to $2,000. For more information, visit bond.edu.au/student-opportunity-fund
In addition to your university tuition fees, there are a number of other costs to consider when planning your budget.
Estimated weekly living costs*
When considering the costs associated with your university studies, keep in mind that Bond’s accelerated schedule means you’ll finish your degree sooner. This signifies a substantial reduction in your total accommodation and living costs, as well as a full year of earnings from being out in the workforce earlier.

Pathways to Bond University
If you don’t meet the entry requirements for your chosen degree, Bond offers a range of pathways through Bond University College. Our pathway programs are delivered on campus by Bond University College, where you will benefit from extra hours of face-to-face teaching in a personal small class, mentored environment. Located on campus, you will have access to all the University’s resources and facilities and will be welcomed as a member of the Bond community from the day you arrive.
Successful completion of a Bond University College program gives you the opportunity to gain entry to a Bond University undergraduate degree, with varying credit. The time to completion from a diploma program to a bachelor’s program is essentially the same. Once you successfully complete your diploma, you will enter your bachelor’s program in Semester 3*, enabling you to still graduate ahead of your peers at standard universities.
