The Bond University difference An investment in your education is an investment in your future success. Your time at Bond will enable career-enhancing opportunities, build valuable networks, and allow you to start achieving your career goals faster.

Accelerated degrees At Bond, you can complete your degree and start your career sooner than at a traditional university. Our teaching calendar includes three semesters per year instead of the usual two, allowing you to enter the workforce quicker than at other universities. With semesters starting in January, May and September, you could complete a combined degree, or an undergraduate and postgraduate degree, in less time than it would take to complete a single degree at another university.

Programs tailored to international students In addition to our accelerated programs, we also offer a range of two-year ‘professional’ master’s programs. Designed for students who would like to gain work experience in Australia after they graduate, these unique master’s degrees incorporate a 20-week professional experience element, and permit international students to apply for an extended three or four-year post-study work visa.

Personal attention Bond’s student-to-teacher ratio is one of the lowest in Australia, which means you will enjoy personalised support and attention throughout your studies. You will have unmatched access to your teaching assistants, who will actively mentor your progress, as well as personalised career and academic support to help you succeed in your studies and plan for your career after graduation.

Individual support A key part of the Bond University difference is the personal support you will receive at every step along the way. At Bond, you will never get lost in the crowd – you will have access to an abundance of opportunities and our extensive support services, including the Academic Skills Centre and Career Development Centre.

Developing key employability skills

Entrepreneurship and the Transformer program At Bond, we focus on developing adaptive, tech-savvy and futurefocused graduates with a strong entrepreneurial streak. Bond also offers a free co-curricular program called Transformer, which brings students together from all disciplines to collaborate on projects and bring big business ideas to life. Working in teams, Transformer participants have access to industry experts, mentors, workshops and a 24/7 co-working space.

Bond graduates stand out both at university and in their future careers. In addition to Bond’s extensive career development support, the development of key skills is embedded into every Bond University degree. Our undergraduate degrees include three Core curriculum subjects, plus the Beyond Bond professional development program, which collectively teach invaluable skills you will take with you throughout your professional life.

Joshua Derko JURIS DOCTOR. “My advice for future Bond students is to take advantage of everything Bond has to offer. There are great programs, great guest lectures, great clubs – we spent two years indoors, so get out there and enjoy Bond’s beautiful campus.”

Lisa Bonin ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AND DIRECTOR, CANADIAN LAW PROGRAM. “As a former litigator with a leading national law firm in Canada, I really appreciate Bond’s integrated practical skills curriculum. For our Canadian students, the focus on skills continues through into our Canadian courses and really prepares these students for their return to Canada. “We support our Canadian students in their transition back to Canada, providing information sessions and resources dedicated to the admissions process after graduation, as well as relevant work experience and clinical opportunities. Although we are halfway around the world, our students can still feel connected to the Canadian legal system and profession.”

Dr Wayne Hing HEAD OF PROGRAM, PHYSIOTHERAPY. “Students interested in studying physiotherapy at Bond can expect to receive a well-rounded and eclectic educational experience, and to graduate with a range of skills that include business management, research, and clinical practice. “Physiotherapy at Bond stands out because of its graduate entry pathways, accelerated timetable, and of course, the University’s beautiful location on the Gold Coast!”

Live in a city of innovation and opportunity The Gold Coast has quickly established itself as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation, leading the way and growing constantly. More people on the Gold Coast own and run their own businesses than any other city in Australia, with the region attracting some of the world’s best and brightest minds.

A diverse industry landscape

Entrepreneurship opportunities

The Gold Coast offers a multifaceted and broad business landscape with strong employment opportunities across many sectors. Bond’s dedicated Career Development Centre provides access to industry connections that will help you make the most of our growing professional opportunities.

There are numerous opportunities for you to develop your entrepreneurship skills and nurture your ideas, both right here at Bond, and on the Gold Coast. Participate in the University’s Transformer program, major in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and participate in networking opportunities, competitions and initiatives to broaden your entrepreneurial skill set.

A global community Bond students hail from more than 90 countries around the world. The city is welcoming and diverse, with almost one in three residents having been born overseas. At Bond, you will join students from all corners of the globe and gain an international perspective on study and work.

Be eligible for a post-study work visa While it is Australia’s sixth largest city, the Gold Coast is classified as a regional city for migration purposes. This means that you may be eligible for an extended, three-year post-study work visa after graduation if you complete a bachelor’s degree, or a four-year post-study work visa if you complete a master’s by coursework.

Be a standout graduate What you do at university has never been more important in preparing you to succeed in your career. In an increasingly competitive job market, it’s no longer about what you learn in the classroom – enhancing your employability is an essential part of the university experience.

Unmatched access to opportunities

Personalised career guidance

At Bond, personal attention is at the core of our student experience. This means you will have unrivalled access to the array of services, initiatives, and experiences on offer. Unlike larger universities, where these opportunities are only available to a select few, every student at Bond can take advantage of an array of experiences that will set them up for success after graduation.

As a Bond student, you will have lifelong access to a variety of career development services through our Career Development Centre. Our team of dedicated career professionals can help you with a full suite of services, from preparing your resumé and helping you hone your interview skills, to providing you with networking opportunities and putting you in contact with industry professionals.

Our business students learn from entrepreneurs and start-ups in Silicon Valley, while law students argue mooting cases in Hong Kong, Beijing, Canada, or even Queensland’s own Supreme Court. Sports science students can work with elite athletes and professional teams from all over the world, and our interns travel to incredible cities like Washington, D.C., Paris, London, and New York.

Industry placements The Career Development Centre can also assist with brokering work placements within your chosen industry. Through an industry placement, you will gain valuable experience with leading Australian and international employers, and contacts you will take into your professional life. We’ll help you source placement opportunities, guiding you through the application process and supporting you during this experience and beyond.

Pathways to Bond University If you don’t meet the minimum entry requirements for your chosen degree, Bond offers a range of pathways through Bond University College to help you achieve the necessary academic results. Our pathway programs are delivered on campus by Bond University College, and consist of academic and English preparation programs designed to get you ready for your chosen degree. Integrated with the rest of the University, Bond University College programs offer students additional support in small class environments. Bond University College students have full access to the same on-campus resources and facilities as other students and are welcomed as valuable members of our community from day one. Successful completion of a Bond University College program will permit entry into a related Bond University undergraduate degree with varying credit awarded*. For most study areas, the time to completion from a diploma to a bachelor’s program is the same, due to the foundational knowledge you will have built. For more information on admissions pathways, please refer to bond.edu.au/pathways. *Not applicable to all bachelor level programs.

Admission pathways Higher education diplomas

Combined undergraduate and postgraduate programs

Duration: 8 months (2 semesters) Starting: January, May, September Our diploma-level studies provide a pathway for students who do not meet the academic or English language requirements for direct entry into their chosen bachelor’s degree, or who would prefer to start their university journey in a more supportive environment. Successful completion of your diploma qualifies you for entry into a Bond bachelor’s degree with varying credit.

Providing a seamless pathway from your undergraduate studies into a career-ready master’s degree in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or nutrition and dietetic practice, Bond University offers undergraduate programs that upon completion, transition directly into postgraduate studies once all offer conditions are met. Examples of this include: •

Double degree programs If one qualification isn’t enough, a double degree provides an excellent way to build on your studies and develop either broad or specialist knowledge. You’ll be able to complete two complementary degrees in the time it takes to finish just one at other universities. A double degree is simply two degrees that are pre-approved to be undertaken concurrently, such as the Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Laws. At the undergraduate level, the majority of our combined programs pair law or business with another discipline, and are completed in anywhere between 2 years, 8 months and 3 years, 8 months. We also offer double degrees at the postgraduate level, with combined qualifications with the MBA or Master of Project Management and an array of complementary postgraduate programs. Jackson Silvester-Lee BACHELOR OF EXERCISE AND SPORTS SCIENCE. “Bond University gave me the chance to bring my own ambitions to life. The staff have been there every step of the way for me to achieve my dreams of playing rugby and becoming an innovative strength and conditioning coach. “I am where I want to be because of my studies at Bond, and I will continue to strive for more because they have shown me that limits are only an illusion that are to be pushed aside to unlock one’s true potential. No matter how big your goals are, the staff at Bond will be there to guide you.”

Shivam Rishi BACHELOR OF LAWS. “When I was researching where to study, I quickly learned that at Bond, I wouldn’t be just another number – Bond offers small class sizes where you have access to valuable face time with your professors, all of whom you know by name and can approach for further guidance. “Coming from Canada, another reason I chose Bond is because of its specialised Canadian law courses. It was important to me to attend a university that would help me get certified if I decided to practice in Canada. Bond has a long history of offering Canadian law courses that assist with accreditation exams back in Canada, and ultimately, these have distinctly prepared me for my future career as an international commercial lawyer.”

This option normally only covers a portion of the cost associated with attending university abroad. Some of Canada’s major banks have specific loans designed for students, which can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Banks with these kinds of schemes include the Bank of Montreal, CIBC, RBC Royal Bank, Scotiabank, and TD Canada Trust.
