2022/23 HIGHLIGHTS
from NTPL ISSUE 1
In September 2022 the 'Wall2Wall2022Ride for Remembrance' departed from the Northern Territory Police Memorial in Darwin to the National Police Memorial in Canberra. Before their departure the 'Mataranka and Katherine crew', comprised of Tom Chalk and Bob Petersen, raised $10,125 for the families of NT Police Legacy. Thank you for helping to make a difference and riding for a cause that is close to your hearts.
September 29th serves as a special day for Police Officers and their families across Australia. As National Police Remembrance Day the day is an opportunity to reflect on the service and the ultimate sacrifice made by brave Police Officers. Services were held throughout the Northern Territory and local buildings were lit up in blue in honour.
In November 2022, Recruit Constable Squad 149 participated in ‘Movember’ to help raise awareness for mental health. Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. The Squad successfully raised $1,860 with all funds donated directly to Northern Territory Police Legacy. We thank all those involved for their generous support.
In Mid December 2022 we held our annual NT Police Legacy Family and Stakeholder ‘Meet andGreet’. This event is a great way for the families to connect and thank the people who support them. NT Police Legacy Inc appreciates the support and sponsorship of all its members and stakeholders, allowing us to continue to support the NT Police Legacy Family.
