2022/23 HIGHLIGHTS
from NTPL ISSUE 1
Walked over 10 days in the mountains and jungle of the Kokoda track, undertaking this is both challenging and rewarding. Walking alongside interstate colleagues and police legatees, culminating in the attendance in uniform at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Bomana Cemetery PNG to pay tribute to those Diggers who fought to save Australia from invasion in 1942.
For a number of years, at the invitation of NSW Police Legacy, groups of NT Police & Fire Officers and NSW Police Officers have undertaken an annual hike across the infamous KokodaTrail in Papua New Guinea. Each year, the Police Officers involved have raised funds to pay it forward, for Police Legacy Legatees to accompany them.

This year NTPL Legatee Tony Harris completed the challenge. A testimony from Tony is below.
"In 2020 I was planning on doing the Kokoda Trek. Unfortunately due to Covid19 it was suspended until now. This last 10 days I have been walking up and down the hardest track possible in memory of Mel Tyndall. Yesterday I walked under the arches at Ower's Corner and was blown away with the support that I had received from fellow Police Legatees, participating Police members from across the country and fellow participants.
I would like to thank NT Police Legacy Inc for all their support and efforts in making this happen. Please support my fundraiser page so that others can achieve what I did on the track."
