He started with a big run-up as Chip Leader on the November Nine. Gordon has the starring role in his own fairytale about the average hobby player who managed to reach the Final Table of the World’s biggest poker tournament. It will soon be revealed if this sober player can also take the First Prize of $8.5 million home with him. Gordon, will begin the November Nine, knowing that he is already one million dollars richer. Not a bad result for a hobby player who won his seat in the Main Event via a satellite in the local casino. Even though his entire life has been turned upside down at the moment, Gordon is trying to stay calm under all the commotion. Modesty and calmness are the words which best describe his personality. He puts his success down to anything but his poker skills. No, according to him, he just had lots of luck in getting the right cards and hitting everything. Whoever thinks that the life of Gordon will change drastically after his success in the WSOP Main Event is very much mistaken, according to Gordon. He wants to use his prize money primarily to make his family’s life easier. His own personal goal is to go touring in Alaska. Furthermore, he wants his life to stay the same: Just keep working and don’t do anything crazy.
The Final Table has yet to be played and although Gordon is already assured of more than $1million in prize money, he is still very much in the race to win the Main Event, which could win him $8.5 million. Gordon will start as Chip Leader with a great advantage. He has almost twice as many chips as the number two, an so seems the definite favourite. However it often turns out that the Chip Leader doesn’t always have to be the winner and with this in mind the question is if Gordon really came this far on lucky cards alone, or whether he is possibly an extremely talented player. There is no discussion about the very good cards he has had so far, but which player at the Final Table hasn’t? They have all had to win tosses and had good cards. If you want to get anywhere in a tournament, you need luck on your side. In truth, if you have left 6,480 competitors in your wake it’s a fact that you can clearly play cards.
Whether or not his poker skills are good enough to finish the job we’ll have to see. If we have to believe Gordon then he’ll muck-up his cards as soon as Phil Ivey looks at him. I’ve already seen many players put themselves down as the underdog, because they play better when they’re in that role. Unfortunately we think that Gordon has already outgrown this role...

Whilst enjoying a good white wine, the last topical subject in the (beautiful men and women) World comes up: Who is the sexiest man in the World? For years, the Sexiest Man on Earth ratings list headed-up by Pitt or Clooney. This year too, there were few changes expected, other than a possible change-around between the number one and two. After a first sip of wine, Kroes opened the meeting with an exceptional statement: “The top 2 or list is, of course, nice and strokes the egos of our male colleagues. Which suits us in our daily work. Far more exciting than the official list is the unofficial list!”. Campbell and Cruz smiled subtly and nodded in agreement. A little put-off by this mysterious comment, we asked the logical and prompted follow-up question: “Sorry, which list?” Cruz began hesitantly on an answer, however within no time, the cheeks began to blush and the sensual lips pursed. “Yeah, we – that’s to say many, if not all female colleagues in the entertainment business, have had our own elections for a long time.
