THE EBB & FLOW A collection of Haikus
Concept: Ben had been writing haikus every day for 3 months, and I asked him if I could use his haikus as the content for a publication. With the international book fair approaching, this seemed like a great idea. I wanted to produce a range of products that visually represented the tone and mood of Ben’s haikus well. Illustrations based on written, outsourced content were created and a series of bespoke prints to go alongside the book were produced for the international book fair. Audience: Collectors of bespoke books & prints, book fair goers between he ages of roughly 20 to 40.
Left: Depicts a bonsai tree inspired by Japanese Hokusai art, the dark and light fragmented pixel background along with the tree illustration aim to visually represent Ben’s written content and the nature of the literature itself.
