Godly instructions!
Brendan Mc Crossan
Godly instructions! These Godly instructions are taken from Psalm 37-1-13; they will help us live a better and healthier life for God and for ourselves. If applied they will draw us closer to the lord and be a blessing to us and to others.
[1] Psalm-37-never envy the wicked; soon they fade away like grass and disappear. [2] Trust in the lord instead. [3] Be kind and good to others; then you will live safely here in the land and prosper, feeding in safety. [4] Be delighted with the lord; then he will give you all your hearts desires. [5] Commit everything you do to the lord; trust him to help you do it and he will. Your innocence will be clear to everyone. He will vindicate you with the blazing light of justice shining down as from the noonday sun. [6] Rest in the lord; wait patiently for him to act. [7] Don’t be envious of evil men who prosper. [8] Stop your anger! [9]Turn off your wrath. [10] Don’t fret and worry; it only leads to harm, for the wicked shall be destroyed, but those who trust in the lord shall be given every blessing. Only a little while and the wicked shall disappear. You will look for them in vain. [11] But all who humble themselves before the lord shall be given every blessing, and shall have wonderful peace. A very simple message in this scripture eleven things to do and they are all easy instructions to follow, there is no complicated message here just the basic thing we as Christians should be doing anyway. Stop your anger, turn off your wrath, don’t fret and worry! All these to help you live a healthier life; anger causes back problems, wrath is fury, {rage.} and rage is a dangerous thing.
Rage is anger getting out of control, anger in it’s self is not wrong, it is a feeling and emotion, but anger turning into rage goes out of your control, when you have allowed it to build up into boiling point. Rage leads into road rage and even murder so its no wonder God says turn it off. Notice he says you turn off your anger and wrath, he is telling you that you can do something to stop rage and anger getting out of control, which could lead to murder; then its to late, the terrible harm has been done if someone died at your hands, because you allowed anger to turn to rage and then allowed rage to run amok. Theses things also have an effect on your physical body, anger causes your muscles to contract, {tighten,} and in tightening they pinch the nerves they are supposed to protect and the next thing is you’re in pain. Anger causes muscle spasms and tiredness, it can cause you to have a bad back, the body is not designed to hold anger for long, it also causes severe headaches. Rage is anger rising, as the old saying goes, ‘their blood is boiling,’ the blood doesn’t boil but it rises into dangerous levels and can cause strokes or heart attacks, high blood pressure and even death. Fretting and worrying causes illness like depression, melancholy, and stress that can lead to heart attacks and strokes. Envy {jealousy} causes cancer; believe it or not, scripture says; envy {jealousy} causes cancer of the bones. Envying someone of what they have for a long period can have this devastating effect on the body. Not all cancer is caused by envy, but the scripture warns that it can cause it. When you humble yourself before God you will have wonderful peace. To humble yourself means exactly that, God won’t humble you, you must come to God knowing who God is and in full respect and awe as you approach his throne, acknowledging his greatness, and how little you are in comparison to him. Scripture says, ‘God loves a humble heart, and turns away from an arrogant one.’ Be kind to people and scripture says, your kindness will return to you when you need kindness. Be delighted in the lord, that means to love him for his own self not what he can do for you but because he is your father, and also your God. Loving God in this way means he will give you your hearts delight when you come before him asking sincerely for your need. Don’t be impatient God will answer all your heart felt prayer, wait for God’s answers. All the previous scripture verses are self explanatory and I have only highlighted some to show how important Godly instructions are, and should be obeyed, God didn’t give them for nothing, but for a reason, for your betterment. Amen
