Power of positive speaking

One

You shall give an account for every

word you speak,

not for what you think but for what you say.

Matthew 12:36-Amplified Bible

But I tell you, on the Day of Judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking)

word they speak.’’

Did you know that you will have to stand before God and give an account for every idle word that you speak out of your mouth on the Day of Judgement? It seems strange that you will not have to give an account to God for every thought that you thought; even though it is the thought life that pollutes.

Mark 7:20-Living Bible

And then he added, “It is the ‘’thought life’’ that

pollutes

Pollute means {to make ceremonially or morally impure: defile: debase

Jesus was speaking here to ‘unsaved people’ telling them that it is the thought life that pollutes; it makes your thinking impure if you let it, it makes your minds negative, it makes your minds sinful by accepting sinful thoughts, but it is the mouth that speaks out what is in the mind the soul or heart. What is in your heart will eventually come out of your mouth.

Sinful thoughts and other wrong thinking do not affect your life unless you give in to them and play on them in your mind, for the enemy will always try to put sinful, or wrong negative thoughts into your mind, but it is what you ‘’say’’ about them that causes you to sin or do wrong, and also makes you stand before God on Judgement Day to give an account on your ‘’speaking’’ those

sinful thoughts out of your mouth. God does ‘’not hold you accountable for the thoughts that keep persecuting your mind,’’ it is ‘’saying and then acting’’ on them that causes the problems you have to give an account for.

But we Christians have a wonderful grace and blessing for we have been given the ‘’mind of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ’’ and so we have ‘’power and authority over our thoughts,’’ the carnal man has very little power over his or her thoughts, that is why so many people kill others, first they accept those wrongful thoughts and then they play those wrong thinking’s over and over in their minds, until eventually they speak them out, and then act on them, they ‘say to themselves’ those thoughts they have in their minds.

1 Corinthians 2:16 ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But ‘’we have the mind of Christ.’’

We who have been given the mind of Christ have a great advantage over the ‘’unsaved mind,’’ or as some call it, the ‘’carnal mind’’ the unsaved mind, or the ‘’unregenerate mind.’’ For we have been given the very ‘’mind of Christ Jesus’’ to help us think right thoughts and to then speak out those right thoughts into the atmosphere bringing what we say into life for us.

Matthew 17:20 King James Version

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall ‘’say’’ unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Jesus said, ‘’say to the mountain,’’ he didn’t say ‘’think about the mountain moving.’’ He is telling us his own children there is power in your words, power enough to even move a mountain.

I remember reading a book years ago by Merlin Carothers, ‘’the Power of Praise,’’ and in his book his wife gives a testimony about the word of God regarding saying to the mountain ‘’be thou removed ’’ She told the readers

that Merlin was offered a church in which to minister, but this meant moving to another state in America, and they were given a house with beautiful mountain scenery, and his wife began setting up home, and then in the evenings she sat and prayed at her porch door. As she looked out she thought to herself, ‘’wouldn’t it be wonderful if the mountain right in front of her would be removed and a lake there instead,’ so she began declaring out of her mouth that God will answer her desire for that lake and the mountain to be removed, she continually spoke to the mountain to be removed and thanked God for answering her words.

After about six months she noticed men arriving on the mountain side with machinery, and wondered what they were doing; then over the next few weeks she realised the mountain seemed to be getting smaller, as the men continued to work. Eventually the mountain disappeared and a lake was constructed for the owner of the property, and she realised that God honoured her ‘’speaking to that mountain be thou removed,’’ and it was by the owner who also desired a lake on his property which he stocked with fish, and one day invited his neighbour Merlin over for a day’s fishing which Merlin was into in a big way.

Merlin’s wife took God at his divine word, and ‘spoke continually’ to that mountain until eventually that mountain was removed. She never realised that God would have a construction team come and remove the mountain, or know that God would place in her neighbours heart to replace the mountain with a lake. And we also have been given the power of speaking positive and seeing the same kind of mountains being removed, not necessarily Clay Mountains, but every mountain of problems being removed by the words that come out of your mouth. We can have all the doubt in our head but as long as you don’t agree with those thoughts and speak them out into existence then your mountains will be removed.

Speaking of future events

Chapter
Romans 4:17Living Bible (TLB)

And this promise is from God himself, who makes the dead live again and ‘’speaks’’ of future events with as much certainty as though they were already past.

I have to ask myself continually am I speaking great things into life or am I speaking death to things concerning myself or my wife or family, speaking as if these things in my heart were already done and past. God gave me the mind of Christ Jesus, did Jesus ever think he couldn’t do this or that, no! He acted in faith in his father, knowing it was the perfect will of the father for life and health and for prosperity and grace for us his divine children.

What holds me back from speaking things done for me into life; God said, ‘’he ‘’has’’ given me everything pertaining to life, and Godliness.’’

2 Peter 1:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)

3 For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).

It is by ‘’his divine power’’ that he has ‘’already given us everything’’ pertaining to this life as something he already done. {Pertaining= to belong or be connected as a part, adjunct, possession.} And the word {requisite means = essential, indispensable, obligatory, necessary, vital and basic requirement.}

When reading the divine word one needs to know the full meaning behind the words used, and we will find that word has a tremendous depth of meaning more than just expressing the particular word itself.

We have to understand that everything is past as far as God is concerned for when Jesus said on the cross on Calvary ‘’it is finished,’’ it did not just mean that he was forgiving man his sins, or taking his sickness on his body, but that ‘’everything pertaining to mankind,’’ everything was finished, all had been accomplished, he defeated the devil for us, he gave us every grace and blessing.

1 Corinthians 1 4 Living Bible (TLB)

4 I can never stop thanking God for all the wonderful gifts ‘’he has’’ given you, now that you are Christ’s: 5 ‘’ he has’’ enriched your whole life. ‘’He has’’ helped you speak out for him and ‘’has’’ given you a full understanding of the truth; 6 what I told you Christ could

do for you

has happened!

7 Now you

have

every grace and blessing;’’ ‘’every spiritual gift and power’’ for doing his will are yours during this time of waiting for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 And he guarantees right up to the end that ‘’you will’’ be counted free from all sin and guilt on that day when he returns.9 God will surely do this for you, for he always does just what he says, and he is the one who invited you into this wonderful friendship with his Son, even Christ our Lord.

Look at the words used here by God ‘’he has’’ that words ‘’has’’ used here four times, means something has already happened; ‘’has’’ means = to ‘’have;’’ and ‘’have’’ means something is already yours; so God has already gives us everything pertaining to life. Look at Abraham he never doubted, sadly we most times do doubt God’s word to us, but Abraham is given as an example to us to never give up to hang on in there and you will see the miracles and graces and blessings happen they will be brought from the past, ‘’God’s past works’’ into our present, now today where we need them in the now world. ‘’God’’ will surely do this for you, for he always does just what he says, and he is the one who invited you into this wonderful friendship with his Son, even Christ our Lord.’’ God speaks of future events as past

Romans 4 20 Living Bible (TLB)

20 But Abraham never doubted. He believed God, for his faith and trust grew ever stronger, and he praised God for this blessing even before it happened. 21 He was completely sure that God was well able to do anything he promised. 22 And because of Abraham’s faith God forgave his sins and declared him “not guilty.”

There are two things that are very significant here in this scripture, the first is he never doubted and then he praised God for this blessing before it even happened.

Romans 4:17-Living Bible

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say that God made Abraham the father of many nations. God will accept all people in every nation who trust God as Abraham did. And this promise is from God himself, who makes the dead live again and speaks of future events with as much certainty as though they were already past.

‘’

‘’

God speaks of future events for us as though they were already past; to him all things have already been done, and done means finished. We must learn to trust in God just like Abraham did and with God that means not giving in to something else that our brains tell us; but to ignore what we feel is going to happen, and instead declare out of our mouths the opposite from what the mind tells us We speak out the opposite that our carnal mind tells us and so we speak out of our mouths the word of God.

What good does speaking negative words do us? Negative words mean ‘harmful,’ and harmful means dangerous, destructive, and detrimental, injurious, and those words have on us all these things expressed in the word harmful.

Speak only what God says to speak and speak them with a positive belief that God will answer them when needed.

There is power in your spoken word if spoken in conjunction with the word of God, for God does not speak negative words or holds negative words in his divine mind and we have the divine mind in us as well 1 Corinthians 2:16 ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But ‘’we have the mind of Christ.’’ Yes we have the divine mind of Jesus in us and so we need only to respond to the thoughts in our mind that will bring glory to God on high. Negative thought will never bring about a miracle and of course we need to keep reminding ourselves that God knows what he is doing always no matter what happens to us.

Speak those things that have not happened with as much certainty as though you already have them and force your mind to agree with the word of God, for me that is ‘’miracles and healings’’ and ‘’places filled with people seeking God.

Shut your mouth no matter what negative thought comes to fill it; don’t open it to say what you think for you will give it life, and if not a godly word then speaking will bring with it disaster, so keep it closed for you will not be judged for your thoughts but for what you say!

Amen
