All Construction sections have fully equipped purpose-built workshops, machine shops and covered project areas with a large range of machines, including a large selection of portable power tools and hand tools to aid students with practical projects. Materials used in practical situations are of the best quality, from local suppliers, to ensure that training is of the highest standard. The practical activity in some of our Construction courses is carried out in workshops at the Tweedbank Construction Hub, and our general classrooms are used for theory, drawing, science and associated subjects, have computers with internet access and are equipped with SMART boards. We have access to the College Learning Resource Centre to supplement lecturers’ notes and handouts. You’ll benefit from learning theoretical and practical skills and our teaching staff, who are highly qualified professionals, will work with you to help you achieve your potential, making sure you gain the maximum benefit from your chosen course of study. We have an excellent working relationship with the Training Boards and well-established relationships with local employers and the local Employers Federation, who help provide work placements for our full-time students.
