Happy Mother’s Day! From the Editor What a delight to become acquainted with Jessicah Schipper (OAM) and her 11 and half month old Baby Robbie. We first met Jess & Robbie when he was just 5 months old and we were immediately captivated by this gorgeous bub and his humble Olympian Mum. Born Organized Magazine is honoured to be able to celebrate Mother’s Day with Jess & Robbie starring on our cover and in our photographic feature. We also go ‘Face to Face’ with Jess to gain an insight into how swimming at an elite level compares to Motherhood. Mother’s Day means something different to each of us and so we asked some of our Mum Brand Owners & BOMag team ‘What does Mother’s Day mean to you?’ “Mother’s Day to me is an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful strong female role models in my life - in particular my own mother and grandmother (aged 90) who until recently was still teaching creative writing. It is also a day to embrace all that being a mother brings to my life, spending quality time with my two beautiful boys who I’ve raised alone the past eight years.” Catherine Cervasio - Founder, Aromababy “If you are lucky enough to be a Mother it’s a day to relax and reminisce about your life together thus far.” Dani Cameron - Creative Director, Born Organized Magazine.

Founder Angelfish Dragonfly, a premium ‘clicks and mortar’ store catering for premmie babies to ten year olds. ust over 4 years ago, a Townsville mum created Angelfish Dragonfly, a premium ‘clicks and mortar’ store catering for premmie babies to ten year olds.

Ms Bourne says her online boutique is vintage inspired with a modern twist, a one-stop shop filled with unique and gorgeous products from more than 60 of the industry’s most sort-after brands. Why did she create Angelfish Dragonfly? - I was tired of dragging my baby all over town to find the perfect dress or item for a gift in our incredible heat and there wasn’t much to offer in boutique style shops. And we bought a lot of my daughter’s clothes at boutiques in Melbourne. People would say ‘Now you didn’t get that in Townsville’ in awe of the beautiful clothes we selected from down south. - I wanted something more high end, unique, rarer than the mass produced items that were and still are currently available at larger stores. I wanted to be able to have clothing that we knew not everyone else would have if we turned up to a party. - Quality clothing that would last, be handed down and not stain like cheaper clothing did. - It was an avenue to earn money doing what I really love my passion for children’s fashion design and quality products without giving up my Music Teaching! “I do all the sourcing myself, and only stock ONE of EVERY size in the fashion clothing for 97% of our labels. So this means you need to get in early if you see a design that you really love” said Ms Bourne. From toys to beautiful, organic clothing and bed linens, décor items, outfits to impress the smallest of style mavens and accessories that can take kids from kindy to a party with the click of a mouse, Angelfish Dragonfly has your child covered.

8

“We carefully source and select the most beautiful stock on the market from designers in Australia and overseas including Fourzero, Sapling, Hide & Seek, Bluebelle, Haveli, Sticky Bellies, Itzy Ritzy and so many more.” Angelfish Dragonfly is full of unique and quirky gift ideas including eco-toys, Dinosnores sleep and meditation cds, colourful eco cot protectors for babies who like to munch on wooden rails and the world’s first protective baby ear muffs reducing noise by 22 db. “We’re also really focused on spreading the Sun Safe message throughout the year, featuring special hats that fit over bike helmets by Treadley, Quince Hats and all our swimwear is UPF-50+ from Platypus Australia, Babes in the Shade and Li’l Ludy. Angelene has also just introduced her own range of baby and children’s hats which are in demand. The first range selling quicker than hot cakes! Angelfish Dragonfly offers free shipping for orders over $150, free gift-wrapping and the option for free pick-up to residents living in Townsville. “If you simply can’t choose, we also offer gift certificates from $25 right through to $200.” Best of all, you can do it all online avoiding untimely toilet stops, testy tweens and those toddler terror tantrums that would make Mary Poppins cry. Angelfish Dragonfly offers friendly exceptional service with a smile, which is fast and efficient. You can find Angelfish Dragonfly at: - Cotters Market every Sunday (in front of the Holiday Inn) - North Qld Babies and Kids Market (held quarterly) Or most convenient of all online: www.angelfishdragonfly.com.au

I also teach music at a school one day a week so life is always busy. Many have said to me “gee how do you do it all?” It is only with the guidance of a business / life mentor – Paula Franich that I have been able to streamline my business and bring my working hours down from 80-90 per week in the early days, to around 40-50 now. We developed a timetable and it is colour co-ordinated. She knows I don’t always stick to it and she can tell when I’ve gone ‘off the rails’ so to speak and am not following it (just as any mother knows what her child is up to!). 1. The No.1 Question our Readers have asked Jess, is, ‘Which is tougher, training to be a World Champion or Motherhood?’

It is pretty hard to compare the two as they are two VERY different lifestyles. But in a “tougher”comparison I’d have to say probably training. To be a World Champion every decision you make revolves around your training, it is a very tough journey that sometimes doesn’t reap the rewards that you hope for. Being a mother is a rewarding experience every mi nute. Even those tough late nights/early mornings make you realise how special being a mum is. 2. only a couple kilos off my race weight and finally getting happier with the way I look and that almost a whole year after Robbie was born. 4. Are you in the pool with Robbie much & is he learning to swim yet?

I have had Robbie in the pool with me since he was 3 months old. It worked out well with his birthday that he was old enough to just in the pool once spring rolled around and it was nice and warm to do so. I have just been teaching him myself and we try and get to a pool at least once a week for a swim. He doesn’t need to take much convincing and seems to be a natural in the water already. 5. What surprises you most about Motherhood?

Ohh that’s a good one. What surprises me most is probably just how quickly and unconditionally you love someone

that just pops into your world. They change almost everything about it (for the better) and after only a few short days it feels like they have been there forever and you can’t imagine what your life would be like without them anymore. 6. We’ve seen a lot in the media over the past 12 months about our former Swimmers, most of whom we hold in high esteem. It is a common but not well known fact that it is often hard to transition from a high profile athletic career & routine into a daily ‘normal’ routine. Have you been challenged by this Jess? What more can be done to help all of our athletes with this transition?

It is hard to think of these people that we see on TV all the time and as you say hold them in such high esteem, as normal people, but they are. To go from a prof ession that is a full time job to all of a sudden just stopping and doing nothing and having all this spare time on your hands is disconcerting. On my last few years on the Australian Swim Team the Australian Swimmers Association started encouraging swimmers to

T

by Hayley Merelle Coates-HMC

oday’s mum is impossible define. Our cookie cutters have gone freeform. There are entrepreneurs in our midst. There’s no one telling us we can’t have it all – have our cake, eat it too, and sell it online to make a living – maybe even a small fortune. It’s a great time to be a mum.

Underneath it all, though, remains women who are doing the best they can with what they’ve got. Women who want to share their values with their children, and help them grow up to be phenomenal people. So rather than attempt to define being a mum, or even an inspirational mum, I thought I’d venture into the social media universe to find out what you think. And wow! Everyone wants to talk! Here are some of our reader’s most valued memories, ideals, and thoughts on the subject of motherhood.

32

What are some of your fondest memories of your children? I can still picture my first ever cuddle with my newborn son, where his gorgeous big eyes looked up at me, his little fingers clasped about my pinkie, and I just thought, you are my everything. You are my reason behind every now breath.

Tania Elizabeth (Mum, author, business woman) Their smell. Their giggles. The way they look when they sleep. Alicia Kemp

(Mum and Curriculum Educator) Laughter! Kids laugh and smile so much. One minute you can be so angry about something ridiculous, then the next, you’re all laughing together and rolling about on the floor because of something even more ridiculous. It’s like the craziest, zaniest thing you could ever do … being a mum. Anonymous

What values does your mother hold dearest – what makes her so inspirational? Family, hard-work, and social justice. When she was working with my father at their menswear store in the city, there was a young homeless woman who would sleep in the doorway of their shop. Instead of sending her away, my mother invited her inside, offered her a cup of tea and talked with her. Skye Warner

(Mum and Teacher) Mum is the most generous and caring woman I could ever imagine. She is selfless, and wants the best not only for her kids, but for everyone. She travels to Africa to work, running hygiene programs. She set up a library in Kenya – said the most difficult part was teaching the kids the concept of borrowing. I can only hope one day to walk half of the soil she has seen. Kate McKenzie (Daughter and Business Woman)

What are the greatest lessons you’ve learned that you’d like to teach your kids? Respect. It will take you far in life and is the basis of everything else. Equality. No-one is better or worse than anyone else, no judging. Alicia Kemp

34

Social Justice. I have brought my angels up to live within the knowledge that anything is possible, that dreams can come true, and that no one can make you think otherwise. That the only person who has true influence upon their thoughts and actions, is their own selves. Tania Elizabeth To communicate effectively. You don’t have to yell and scream to get a point across. Talk about your feelings and express them calmly. Listen to others and work through your problems. Love yourself. Accept who you are, realise you are an amazing human being and can do anything! Nothing is impossible. No dream is too big. Never settle for second best because you deserve the absolute best! Samantha Kondor (Mother and

Business Owner) Do whatever is necessary to keep sane. Sometimes you have to say no. Travel as often as you can, see as much of the world as you can. And if you can help, why aren’t you helping? Kate McKenzie My mother has taught me how to love, by example. She’s taught me the importance of family and of forgiveness. She has taught me the importance of community and of looking after each other. Skye

Warner What advice do you have for new mums? Listen to your instincts! You know what is best for yourself and your baby. You can read every book, talk to every doctor and mothers group, but in the end, if it feels right in your gut, do it. Let your kids explore. Take them out into nature and let them roam free. Get dirty, wet, sandy, and slimy! It’s all part of the fun! Don’t be too strict on yourself when you are pregnant. As my GP said to me, “You’re pregnant, not dying!” Samantha Kondor Do what feels right no matter what anyone says. And ASK for help! The happier and more relaxed you are the better off everyone will be. Alicia Kemp

How to Organize

for a

Large

Family

by Kim Clark

Some people are born organized (like me...I have been color coordinating and folding laundry since I was 5 years old!), but most folks are not birthed with the gift of a no-clutter mentality. Mom’s have a tough job that challenges their organizational mindset everyday. Mother’s have to work, raise children, do never-ending laundry, meal prep, homework help, budget finances, carpool, shop, clean the house...when is there time for getting life under control? There are not enough hours in a day! Being organized is a mental and physical habit involving a series of actions. Becoming consistantly organized is

My mom is far e understood the concept that an unorgastes time, square footage space, money and s goal should be to keep an orderly home, es, flaws are normal (because nobody is t!) Below are tips for organizing a large household filled with too many ducklings to herd.

1. Assign a pen color for each child on the family master calendar.

2. Pick a ballet class for Suzie that is close to Billy’s soccer practice. Keep distance painless if possible!

3. Befriend other moms. Get your child in on their carpooling regimen. 4. Create specific zones in a house. Have an eating area, play zone, homework station, hobby corner, reading nook...keep activity environments separated.

5. Create a catch-all binder or command center file. If there were ever a fire, you would be scrambling to find each child’s critical information. Put all social security cards, insurance information, birth certificates and passports in one grab and go binder.

6. It is okay to give things away. Once you read a book, it’s full value was used. That book’s cost and purpose is completed (unless its a dicitionary and it’s used as a frequent reference). Feel free to resell or donate items upon full usage of the value.

7. Have each child de-junk their own junk. Give all children the responsibility of going through their items to purge and edit what they dont need, like or use. Hold them accountable for their things.

8. Cubby system! Make the shared zones and personal zones defined and clear. Have each child use a designated hook, locker or cubby to dump their school items when they arrive home.

9. Say yes to less. Life can be richer if you keep the material items simpler. 10. Establish the top priority room of the house and focus to keep that space organized each day without fail. Label the heart of the home whether that is the kitchen, family room, play room or homework area. For more tips and tutorial videos, visit Kim Clark at www.Vanchic.com!

ping your hair in good health with all the stress it is put ese days can be extremely difficult. All kinds of free n attack the hair, those windy days can tousle it about, olouring doesn’t help either. Not to mention all of that blowdrying.

he solution? Many men and women these days are turning ks. However, a quality hair mask can cost you a pretty ending on where you purchase and what kind of quality are inside. Did you know that there are several hair masks ake at home with ingredients you already have on hand?

One:

er Vinegarou know that crazy smelling stuff you may d under you sink for a rainy day? Or the new health that everyone is choking down? Grab your apple cider nd dilute it with half water. After shampooing your hair, ugh your wet locks while you are still in the shower. Let minute or so, and rinse it thoroughly. If you don’t rinse h, some of the apple cider vinegar scent can linger, and ants to smell like a salad all day. If rinsed thoroughly, you be able to smell it at all.

Apple cider vinegar will seal the cuticle of your hair, giving you shiny tresses. It will also help to lock in your colour, and keep it protected from free radicals, etc.

Mask Two: Egg, Avocado and Coconut Oil Say what? That’s right. Grab one avocado, one egg, and about a tablespoon of coconut oil. Mash it up in a shower safe bowl, and smooth onto your hair after you shampoo, concentrating on the mid lengths and ends (not your scalp). Let sit for a few minutes and rinse! Avocado’s are full of healthy fats and oils to nourish and quench your hairs thirst. Eggs are high in protein, and your hair cannot accept moisture without protein. Coconut oil has a huge range of benefits, and some even state that it helps accelerate hair growth, though this has not been proven specifically. It can’t hurt to try!

Mask Three: Coconut Milk Another “rinse” like mask. Take a can of coconut milk, and shake up. Rinse through the hair, letting it sit for several minutes. Rinse thoroughly and enjoy the beautiful benefits. Coconut oil will not only add protein and moisture, but it will leave the hair incredibly shiny as well. This can be used in lieu of conditioner, or after it for an extra treat. Danielle is an entrepreneur and writer. You can check out her other articles at the blog http://www.wineorwhiskey.com

your 20s, 30, 40s and 50s! What areas are important to focus on as we get older?

20’s Overall fitness, make it fun, trying lots of different activities to keep it fresh and interesting. Build up your cardio fitness and a balanced look at fresh food.

30’s: Cellular health and wellbeing. Building a fitter you beyond skin deep – working on a balance of cardio, agility, resistance and flexibility. Working in balance and time management to ensure you’re not last on the list each day.

40’s: Working in more resistance style exercises (including body weight) to increase immune, balance hormones and create toning.

50’s +: Bringing it all together with small doses of everything

NY AGE ORKOUT ADERS!

N-MOORE

– remembering that resistance training as we get older is vital for good bone health, reducing osteoporosis, and vital for helping our body regular blood sugar levels, create an oxygenated environment for our cells to prosper and remain in good health. Regular yoga and walks or lower impact activities are fantastic. Especially swimming as well.

Great workouts for any age a) Pilates / Barre / Yoga / Walking / Running / Cycling / Swimming / Suspension Training / Stand Up Paddling/ SUPFIT / SUP YOGA b) Workouts that challenge: Cross Fit/ Boot camps / Boxing and Outdoor Fitness Group Sessions. Walking, Jogging, Skipping or even doing interval sessions can be very effective warm ups: hop onto a stationery bike, treadmill or rowing machine at 60-70% heart rate for 10 minutes. Working out on the beach then do some sand run-

ning or walking to get your heart rate up. Cool downs are just basic stretches, or lower tempo activity - I always like a few moments in child pose to re-calibrate before getting back into the real world again. Know your heart rate levels for safe exercising: For example your max heart rate is 220-your age.

Trainer Tip: I STRESS THAT YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE INSTRUCTORS ARE GIVING PERSONAL SUPPORT: DO NOT DO THESE GROUP ACTIVITIES IF YOUR TRAINERS ARE NOT GIVING YOU A PROPER INDUCTION, ASSESSMENT AND GRADUAL BUILD UP FOR YOUR LEVEL. *Injuries occur when trainers are not taking the time to assess your personal level and understand your health and fitness background. If the group is too large, you know by default it will reduce the personal attention and support you will be getting. Be smart.

Note these workouts are built around a basic level of fitness and perhaps just starting out.

20’s – finding the fun in fitness. It’s cool to workout these days so get your favourite gear on and shape up with this fun circuit – grab a friend and put the timer on your I Phone for 3minute intervals and do this circuit at least 3 times.

and the body you have. Tip: Try something endurance based: As of our 30’s our endurance levels are fantastic as well, which lends itself well to a new personal challenge such as a 10k, 21 or even a marathon for example. You’ll notice a lot of world class runners and triathletes are in their 30’s so it’s a great phase in your life to maximise being in tip top shape! Push Ups - on knees or full push ups

50’s. Wisdom in Wellness Looking after our bodies in our 50s’ and beyond is more than a project – it is an exciting arena of self-discovery and applying your knowledge from over the years. It is never too late to get your health and fitness Mojo back. Practising yoga, walks and cardio activities, getting plenty of fresh air and keeping active daily the recipe for longterm wellness and vitality. Here’s my express circuit for 50’s + Push Ups - supported on knees Deadlift without weights - just focusing on the movement Assisted Lunges Downward Dog 4 Top Technique Tips

1. Push Ups (My must do basic exercise - start with 3-5 reps of perfect technique and work your way up) Find a soft spot to kneel or a flat area. Start with your upper body extended and core engaged. Dumbbell in each

hand. Whether you are doing this exercise on your knees or on your toes it’s really important your back is long and strong. I suggest a wider hand position to increase the area that you will be working your chest. It also makes it slightly easier as you are using bigger muscles than biceps and triceps. Come down with your nose to the ground – keeping your head in line with your spine. No dipping of the head. Then back up to start position – once you have come up to the start position bring one dumbbell up under your shoulder and place back down on the ground. Then perform another push up. Trainer tip: The wider your feet the easier it is as well for added stability.

2. Lunges (A classic that tightens and tones) A super effective simple exercise. Use a wall, chair or bar for support, or pick up the pace with a walking lunge. Add an overhead press with hand weights for extra upper body resistance.Start in a standing position. Step one leg forward into a 90 degree angle (front knee must not be over your toes). Back leg shuffles back until you feel a good stretch and you can come down bending the back knee towards the floor. Keeping upper body straight, eyes

forward and knees in line with your hips. Great at strengthening ankles and knees. Note you do not have to go too deep into a lunge to get the effect. Take your time between the up and down part of this movement as well.

3. L-HandStand (something for fun) My new favourite version of the handstand and it will have you feeling the results for days after. Start sitting with your back facing the wall and hands on your knees. Then go onto all fours, shuffle your feet up onto the wall and then move your hands back so they are under your shoulders – this is really important and take your time to get this right. When you feel your upper body at 90 degrees walk your feet down until your hips are in line with the wall. Looking back you should see your feet inline on the wall. Engage your core, and feel the squeeze between your shoulder blades. Let your head stay between your shoulders. To come down, walk gently down the wall and into a child pose to relax.

4. Downward dog: Never tried yoga before? Make sure you go to a registered and trusted practitioner for some wonderful support and classes. Even if you get to half this pose keeping your knees bent it can feel amazing. Start with hands in front and on your knees. Tuck your toes underneath then raise your hips up to the sky keeping your back straight. If you’re like me and have tight hamstrings you may not get your heels touching the ground. Don’t be afraid to bend your knees then repeat the leg extension gently to work into the pose. Head in line with you shoulders, eyes soft and keeping your arms strong and long. BREATHE all the time you are in this position. TAKE YOUR TIME AND do not sit back up in a hurry. Once you have come back down to your knees, sit here for a second, roll up gently and let the body acclimatise to avoid dizziness. Yoga is about patience and regular practice. Give yourself the chance to engage in this pose and keep doing it daily to see amazing results. Most of all trust your body and engage your muscles in all activities. We are capable of so much when we put our minds to it and exercise not only boosts our confidence but also our brainpower and overall wellbeing. Happy healthy Mothers Day! Ingredients: 1 x Large Jam Roll (either from the baker or bread section of supermarket) 1 x 85g packet of raspberry jelly 1 small tin- 440g of Golden Circle Tropical Fruit Salad (or select your favourite tin fruit) 2 cups of Frozen Raspberries 1 lt Thick Vanilla Custard 1 x 500ml tub of Whipped Cream (or whip a small bottle) Fresh strawberries or raspberries for decoration. Flake or other chocolate to grate for top.

Method:

.Prepare jelly – dissolve jelly into 1 cup boiling water. Add 100ml cold water and stir. (NOTE – cold water

uantity is less than required on the packet, to make the jelly firmer). Pour jelly liquid into a low rectangular

ish so that jelly can be cut into squares when set. Set the Jelly in the fridge overnight or in the morning and assemble the rest in the afternoon. 2.Slice the Jam Roll into 1.5 cm thick slices and place around the bottom and sides of the bowl. 3.Fill the gaps with raspberries.

.Place layers of the fruit salad, custard, more cake if you have some spare, and raspberries.

ll with the layers until just below the top of the bowl so that there is room to place a layer of whipped cream on the top. 5.Place the cubed jelly on the top around the edges.

.Refrigerate until ready to serve. Add final decorations of extra fruit and grated chocolate. Refrigerate for at least half a day is good if not overnight.

Miss C’s notes: Select a large clear glass serving bowl that you can easily see the layers of the trifle through. Works better with a dry cake to soak up the moisture from the custard and fruit. You can sprinkle with grated chocolate on the top if you wish.

ometimes Mummy makes a trifle with fresh fruit but I like this one as it’s quick and easy and I get have more fun time to play with my guests. I will make this for my Mummy for Mother’s Day!

Diana Holwerda director / owner pa

on the go & marketing 4 mums co-founder mum entrepreneurs

Originally from the Netherlands, Diana came to Australia over 13 years ago as a backpacker. She met her husband within 3 months of arrival, has been married for 7 years and has two children of 6 and 4 years old. Diana completed a Business Diploma in Marketing and Management in the Netherlands and also has a certificate in Secretarial Services. Upon arrival in Sydney she worked her way up starting as a receptionist to Office Manager and eventually Executive Assistant within the corporate world. During her maternity leave she was offered to do some contract work, seeing the flexibility working like this could provide, Diana had an ‘ah-ha’ moment and PA on the GO was founded! 6 years later Diana offers a wide range of virtual and onsite office support. PA on the GO has undergone a few changes in the last year, developing from a one-woman operation Diana now has several contractors who work with her

84

and offers even more services to her clients including creating a new service specifically for Mums in Business called Marketing 4 Mums providing marketing packages. After juggling the family and business for a while, Diana found working from home quite isolating and looked for any networks she could join, but all the local ones started too early or were too expensive. After meeting another local Northern Beaches business mum on Facebook they realised there was a need for a network group that catered for mums and women in business. So Diana Holwerda and Banika Smee started Mumpreneurs Northern Beaches Network, now known as Mum Entrepreneurs which is expanding throughout Sydney in 2012. www.pa-on-the-go.com/northern-beaches-virtual-assistant/ www.marketing4mums.com www.mumentrepreneurs.com.au

how to build your linkedin profile by Diana Holwerda

L

inkedIn is a great tool for anybody who has been in the workforce for a certain amount of time and wants to stay in touch with their colleagues, old boss etc.

Using LinkedIn for your business can work really well as you connect with other people in business through clients, old work colleagues, friends and even family but in saying that no social media platform will only work if you put some effort in to it and work on it consistently. So when you look at a resume or a typical LinkedIn profile, it’s mostly just words on a page. You’re much more than words though, and you can use LinkedIn to showcase your skills and accomplishments in a visual and very compelling way. Regardless of your profession, you can enhance your LinkedIn profile with images, videos, presentations and more.

1. Customise your contact information.

LinkedIn provides three URLs in the contact information section. I suggest you use them all. The LinkedIn drop-down menu offers five choices: company website, personal website, blog, RSS feed, portfolio, and other. Choose “other” for all three resources; this allows you to change the name of each resource.

2. Modify your LinkedIn URL

Also you can modify your own LinkedIn URL so when you click on Edit Profile you will see something like this (see image below) and you can see I have changed my URL to reflect my business name, just click on the “edit and change those numbers and letters to your name or business name. I would love to connect with you so click on the link and say hi! http://www.linkedin.com/in/paonthego 3. Join Groups Apart from connecting with people on LinkedIn you join groups as they are a great source of information plus when you do a status update you can send it to all the groups you are part of so e.g. I am part of over 48 groups. This is a lot but you build this up over time and obviously pick the once that are relevant to your business and also pick groups that are your target market. So click on the arrow and select Groups (see image below) and then type in the search bar what you would be interested in and you will find many groups to join. E.g. search for Mum Entrepreneurs and you will find my network group I set up for Mums in Business

86

4.Create a Visual Profile Most profiles on LinkedIn are just plain text, but you can turn this into something much more exciting by adding photos, videos etc. It is called “Professional Portfolio” and allows you to share presentations, photos, videos, links, PDFs and more. A great way of standing out from the crowd! 5.Remember this is not your normal resume you send out Use this to your advantage and get creative. Mention temp jobs that you probably wouldn’t list on your resume. Or show people you have been involved in organising e.g. a charity event. 6.Finally ask for Recommendations It is a great way of building that credibility online. So if you know people who would recommend your work, then you can request through LinkedIn. And of course you can endorse people for their skills on LinkedIn and hopefully they will return the favour ;-)

I have been blessed to have been given a wide variety of ways to connect with the spirit world since early childhood. I am the Founder of ‘Vorce’ Deep Relaxation & Healing Technique... n each issue I will select one lucky reader to receive a free mini reading… To be eligible all you have to do is send me your question via email to nadine.head@hotmail.com, ensure you mention ‘Born Organized Reading’ as the email subject.

Private Readings are also available at www.facebook.com/NadinePsychicMedium or via email. Rhonda from Coffs Harbour is our lucking reader of issue 6, Rhonda asks; Q What blockages do I have standing between me and my life purpose? A Hi Rhonda, I love your question. The time has come to believe and focus on your own inner wisdom, knowledge and truth and you will discover a great power within. The answers to finding your life purpose is within you – less focus on what others practice and teach and more focus on your own abilities will lead you directly to where you are meant to be, doing what you are meant to do. Eliminate judgement on all levels – including the self. Meditation is required to connect to the self and to the universe. It is necessary for you to develop the creative mind. You will soon be drawn to where you are meant to be physically situated on Mother Earth for your spiritual growth and wellbeing. This shift is necessary. Opening of the heart and mind to all possibilities and to love on all levels, strong negative thought patterns need to be eliminated as they are blocking your path forward. You are missing great opportunities of growth on all levels due to these blockages. It is ok to bend the rules, as long as you stay true to yourself. Don’t allow your own limited beliefs to hold you back from your call to service from the heart within. Do not play games – no matter what the externals, always come from a loving heart centre with all you meet and all you do. Be responsible for your own thoughts, spoken word and actions and let everyone else be responsible for their own - as long as you do what is right from your heart centre you rule the day. You have a great future ahead of you, everything is going to plan and you will discover your life purpose when the time is right. Love, Light & Blessing Nadine x

Hello Reader Nadine Head - Psychic, Medium & Healer.

Follow on from my previous entry where I explained how ‘Vorce’ Deep Relaxation & Healing Technique came to me in my darkest hour of need and together we set out on a journey of self-discovery and self-healing that led me out of the darkness and into the light… restoring health, happiness, balance and wellbeing… a journey towards enlightenment. Today I would like to explain the significance of Vorce at this time and the roll Vorce plays in the future outcome of our planet. Vorce... Not just another ‘life force’ healing energy… Many of you would already know, as many of us are receiving this information… long ago there was a time of alchemy that consists of vital elements to assist in the healing of mankind.

92

Through diverse conditioning these vital elements where lost, life throughout the universe became almost non-existent in the eyes of the world... blocking the natural free flow of life force energy, causing significant changes to the energies of the universe… in turn causing disharmony, destruction and disease to all life and to mother earth as a whole.

To reconnect mother earth and a universe as ‘One’ there was a ne in disharmony and destruction fo years before finding a way back t awareness and existence as light time is now in motion; Vorce has this shift and is a vital element to all life on our planet.

rs,

all life throughout the eed for mankind to exist or many thousands of to a conscious state of t beings on earth, that been sent to assist in o the future existence of

The life force of Vorce is pure light... the purest and highest vibrational healing light energy available to mankind and all life on earth at this time, connecting us all as one, this pure light energy emanates love and life on our planet... If mankind embraces this pure light energy we have the opportunity to heal ourselves and our planet on all levels of existence, reinstating the natural free flow of pure light energy… restoring peace, balance and harmony to all life throughout the universe. Vorce has been sent to assist this shift and maintain its existence; Vorce is the Healing Energy of ‘Complete Oneness’... Healing within... Healing the World… as ‘One’. Together we can achieve true greatness.

Linda Bizon Linda Bizon has had an interest in health, healing and well-being her whole life, having lived with epilepsy since the age of 3. A born healer and naturally ‘of service to others’, she explored many healing modalities including Reiki, meditation, Tai Chi and bodywork. It wasn’t until her herbalist suggested she try Rescue Remedy that her path with Flower Remedies began. She studied Bach Flower Remedies at the Newcastle College of Herbal Medicine in 1991. With a need to access Rescue Remedy safely at the onset of seizure, Linda created a spray formula for personal use. Recognising we are all affected by stress in different ways, it became her mission to introduce the benefits of Flower Remedies to others, particularly those more familiar with mainstream medicine. Linda began Sacred Space Essentials as an online business in 2002, offering products and services she’d been preparing for friends, and their pets, over the years. She also began to develop her own range of individual Flower Essences, according to Dr Bach’s teachings. Linda is passionate about flower remedies, healing and personal growth. She has a sincere desire to help others on their journey, and make the world a better place. Quality of life is paramount in living a full and happy life. Linda’s vision is to bring the endless benefits of Flower Remedies into our everyday lives, empowering others to create the life they were born to live. She offers Personal Consultations, combination blends and sprays for People, Pets and Sacred Spaces, and works with other professionals to support their clients on their healing journey.

HORMONE HARMONY by Linda Bizon

Hormone Harmony is Sacred Space Essentials’ first composite blend specifically formulated to address the common issues of hormone imbalances. Hormones affect our mood and behaviour, as well as our physical symptoms. Traditionally, flower remedies are used to balance the personality on the causal level, addressing attitudes, underlying beliefs, and subconscious patterning. As the person is brought into harmony, the physical imbalances are eased. With many essences also able to assist the physical body directly, it makes perfect sense to assist a person on all levels. Hormone Harmony was initially created to assist a friend through her menstrual cycles. Each month Sharon would cry for two days at the onset of her cycle. She suffered with severe cramps and pain, spending most of the 5 days in bed. In taking her remedy, Sharon no longer was in tears; she had less pain and was able to enjoy life as normal. As I approached menopause, I found the hot flushes very uncomfortable, and heat is a seizure trigger for me. Herbs beneficial for menopause reduce the effectiveness of anti-epileptic medication, so I had to find a safe alternative.

Aloe, as a herb, helps cool burns and areas affected by heat. As a flower essence, the properties of the flower help to balance heat energy in the body, making it beneficial for the symptoms of hot flushes. Needless to say, I made an Aloe flower essence and added that to the formula.

harmony and equilibrium.

Hormone Harmony has helped many women through the challenges of hormonal fluctuations. A common response is that it’s given them their life back. One lady had not slept more than an hour for over 2 years, and was sleeping in a separate bed to her husband so he could sleep. Within a week of taking Hormone Harmony, she had slept 4 hours, then a full night uninterrupted, and her energy levels were as they should be.

• Ease emotional states, especially tears and crying

Boys going through adolescence also benefit from Hormone Harmony, as do girls in their pubescent years. We all know the personality changes that come with puberty! As the hormones balance, the person is also able to return to a state of inner

96

Hormone Harmony is formulated to: • Restore a calm centeredness • Balance hormones

• Assist with pain and ease muscular tension • Cool the body’s internal heat • Lift the black cloud of depression • Provide resilience in trying circumstances • Ease one’s sensitivity and ability to be easily irritated Typically, flower remedies are taken 3 x daily. This dosage needs to be increased to 4 x daily for the throes of menopause and hot flushes. As with any flower remedy, if there is a need to

take more, take the remedy more often as taking a larger dose makes no difference. This remedy is also beneficial applied topically.

“I can’t thank you enough. You’ve given me my life

Hormone Harmony has been a popular remedy for over 15 years. It is best taken internally for acute symptoms, and now available in spray form. Simply spray under the tongue, as well as using topically or above you to create a harmonious sacred space.
