GAME OVER CYCLES WINS BEST PAINT AWARD IN GERMANY

At the Custombike-Show, world's biggest trade fair for customized bikes organized annually in Germany, Polish company Game Over Cycles won in one of categories of Bikeshow – event's main contest for the best bikes presented at the fair. Created by Polish workshop Cheyenne Bike “The Recidivist” was honored with the “Best Paint/Airbrush” award. The Cheyenne Bike, The Recidivist is a motorcycle created in devotion to the traditions of the modern motorcycle industry and the human culture of the artistic world of tattoos. Motorbikes are commonly adorned with tattoo motifs using an airbrush, however the uniqueness of Cheyenne Bike, The Recidivist lies in the fact that the bike's entire BTR 4 | BORNTORIDE.COM

construction is covered in tattooed skin branded directly onto the bike's tires, tanks, seat, rear fender, lamp and many other smaller elements. Light colored cow hide leather - similar to the color of human skin - is engineered onto the bike. Two Polish tattoo artists, Tomasz Lech from Individuum tattoo studio and Krzysztof Królak from Steel Will Tattoo-Factory applied traditional works of tattoo art onto the bike. All of that makes The Recidivist world's first tattooed motorcycle. The bike had its premiere in September 2014 at the London International Tattoo Convention - the most prestigious body adornment convention in the world. Custombike-Show 2014 was held at the beginning of December (12/05/2014 –

12/07/2014). According to organizers' information, the event is world's biggest fair for customized bikes. Organized annually in German city of Bad Salzuflen the event covers the space of 28,000 sqm (4 buildings) and gathers 330 exhibitors as well as 800 custom bikes. RIDE SMART POSTURE

Maintaining good posture in the saddle is an important component of good riding. Not only will paying attention to your posture help you stay comfortable over long distances, it will also enhance your control of the motorcycle by helping your body stay relaxed. Sit on the motorcycle in an upright position with your back straight, your head up, and your eyes focused on the roadway ahead. Ride with your knees and elbows turned inward. They should be comfortably bent (not locked) so you can quickly move or respond to changes in riding conditions. Keep both feet on the footrests at all times so you can quickly position them to operate the rear brake pedal or shift lever. Grip both hand grips firmly with your wrists turned downward and knuckles pointed up. Make a conscious effort to keep your body limber and relaxed. Tensed muscles will cause you to fatigue quickly, and will lessen your ability to respond promptly to any obstacles that might appear in your

path. A relaxed rider is a ready rider. The better your skills are, the more relaxed you’ll be. • A wrist-down position on the throttle hand is recommended. It will help avoid over revving the engine and will make it easier to reach for the front brake lever when it comes time to slow down. • In a standard turn, lean with the motorcycle for smoothness and stability • In a slow, tight turn, such as turning around in a parking lot, it helps to counterweight by leaning in the opposite direction of the motorcycle and direction of the turn. Put pressure on the outside footrest. For more information go to www.msf-usa.org 1-844-STEF-LAW

Tom Anderson is a household name in the inner circles of the motorcycle builder community. Over the years, Born To Ride has featured motorcycle creations of Tom, who we affectionately call him ‘Tommy.’ Most of you know Boss Hoss motorcycles are big and mean... truth be told, they are intimidating to the average rider. This month’s cover shows the innovative genius of Tommy Anderson and his business partner Steve Lamb. They have created a Boss Hoss that is still mean, minus the big and heavy look. We caught up with their public relations person for a little background and history of Tommy, Steve, and the 2011 Custom Boss. BTR 12 | BORNTORIDE.COM

Steve Lamb is the owner of five new car dealerships— Steve and Tom Anderson, an automotive-motorcycle artist and designer, have been together for 12 years. Their twin engine Big won Best of Show at the Rats Hole in Daytona.... The grand prize for winning the Rats Hole Best of Show is a trip to Germany. One of our bikes has been on the cover of five national magazines. The 2011 Boss Hoss has air ride suspension, so Tom and master fabricator Kirk Hum redesigned all sheet metal—from fiberglass to steel. We built a dash shell to replace the gas tank and built a new tank. The 6.5-gallon tank went under the seat.

We used ‘67 Chevy truck dash; the tach and all gauges are carbon fiber. We do some high-end shows, so Tom wanted a car with a bike theme. Since we sell a lot of Corvettes, we put a little Corvette theme in this bike. It has ‘58 Corvette side panels in the dash cover, ‘57 Corvette taillight bezels with ‘59 Cadillac taillights. The bike sports a 2011 Corvette LS3 430 motor, fuel injection, and tow speed transmission with reverse. This bike has air ride shocks with an electric pump. The rear fender is hand built with custom taillights; the fuel rail covers and front air intake covers are aluminum. The side cover is hand built with Corvette emblems.

If you have an interesting motorcycle or story, we’d like to feature you 888-795-5779

To finish off the build we put on custom wheels— 300-rear tire x 18 inch and 90/130 x 16 in front. Women’s World

Excuses are the poison potion of dreams. Tomorrow, next time, later, after this or after that happens … tic toc tic toc! Wake up! Life is passing you by. Life is not forever and that clock is ticking! No more waiting “IT’S YOUR TURN” now! Time to enjoy this journey of life. No matter where you are in life you have things to be grateful for, so hold your head high learn from past and present circumstances and let’s LIVE! We come up with so many excuses why we don’t do something right now and tomorrow may never come. If you have something in your heart follow it now. We are so good at coming up with excuses not to do something just so we feel good about our decision. In the end we only rob ourselves from living. Common biker example - Some people want to purchase a motorcycle but keep postponing it waiting for some future event. Many use the excuse they want to wait until they retire or have a place with a garage, finish divorce, get married, kids leave for college, etc. I hear so many excuses like that; unfortunately, that future many times never comes. Whatever the dream is, the time to live your dream is now. Get out NOW and be and do what you have in your heart! I have learned by force due to circumstances that excuses are just excuses. We say that it’s just not possible right now, but when we are pushed to the edge into doing it we realized our excuses were just that EXCUSES. Life doesn’t end when we follow our dreams now – and we get to live the moment NOW. In other words enjoy life, enjoy the now, and take risks! Not crazy risks but well thought out calculated risks. Don’t live in the future because you’ll miss the present and that may be all you get. Life is a precious journey to be enjoyed along the way. Unfortunately so many of us postpone things by planning on some future thing to happen without enjoying the now. Don’t let that be you! Take Action NOW! Take some time aside to be alone and go deep into thinking. Analyze where your life is now and where you would like it to be. Analyze all the reasons you have created not to pursue your dreams and passions.

Tic Toc Tic Toc WAKE UP!

Look at how your life would be if you decided to pursue and live your dreams and passions now. See how your life will be now and in 5, 10, 20 years if you continue and do nothing. Once you are brutally honest with yourself of where you are and where you want to be it’s time to “Clean Up,” so you have the needed foundation to plan and

2. Things – useless things that surround you. How much clutter have you accumulated? Secret - Less is better! You need to be clutter free. We do not need anything we haven’t touched in at least one year. Get rid of it and make room for your new life. Start room by room in your home. Free yourself from attachment to the material world and a huge weight will be lifted. LET IT GO! 3. Stress – what is creating the most stress in your life? List all the things that are stressing you out. Stress causes us so many illnesses. List all that is stressing you and what you need done to make it stop.

strategize. CLEANING UP - take a look at all the toxic that surrounds you such as: 1. People - negative people that surround you. Make a decision to distance yourself from those people who bring you down and don’t support your dreams. Even those that you love dearly, although it’s very difficult you need to make a decision. If they refuse to understand and respect your ideas they do not serve your higher purpose and you must distance yourself. Make a list of all those you must distance yourself from and all those who do support you in a positive way.

If you would like info on Born To Ride Womens Club, Email info@borntoride.com

PLANNING AND STRATEGIZING – building your future. 1. Blueprint - Setting up a blueprint for action. You can’t build if you have no blueprint. Creating a blueprint of how to get from where you are to where you want to be is your bridge to your new life. 2. Monitor- You also want to monitor your progress daily or at minimum weekly so that you know the moment you’re getting off track. 3. Flexibility - Staying on track and engrave the vision of your goal in your brain - Life happens and there are many detours so you must remain flexible however your focus on the goal must stay solid. How you reach your goal will vary along the way it that is fine. Never Settle for a Mundane or Mediocre Life! Make your dreams a reality starting NOW. Do not reside in the land of I coulda, woulda, shoulda. Come join me in the land of (I did it / I’m doing it) it feels GREAT! I

t’s that time of the year when you have some days set aside to do some riding and relaxing. The big question is:

WHERE TO GO THIS YEAR?

You know you want to head to the mountains and hills where it will be cooler, but you don’t want to go too far north. You’ve already done the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap a half a dozen times and you need something new and refreshing. Well guess what? There is a place you probably went right on by heading up from Florida just an hour and a half north of Atlanta. Blairsville, Georgia is the destination and the Copperhead Lodge is where you want to stay! It’s far enough out of town to keep it secluded and nestled up in the woods but close enough to run into town to get some groceries if you plan on staying awhile.

We were lucky enough to spend a few days at Copperhead Lodge in July and we had a wonderful and relaxing time. Once we got out of Florida and off the super slabs, we rode up through Macon, took back roads to Athens, then up through Vogel State Park and into the town of Cleveland, Georgia where the roads got real interesting for the next 35 miles into Blairsville. The GPS said it would take over an hour to do the 35 miles through the mountains. With all the curves it was more like 35 miles of smiles! It was a long day of riding, but we finally pulled into Copperhead Lodge and made our way to the front desk. We were immediately greeted by Michelle Evans, co-owner, manager, bartender, promoter and motorcycle guide. Yes

BTR 26 | BORNTORIDE.COM

... she does it all we found out over the next few days and she made the Energizer Bunny look like a wimp! We were tired and she knew it as she handed over the keys to our cabin, “Come on back once you get settled in and we’ll talk and you can get some dinner,” she said. We settled in to our cozy cabin that included a king-size bed, full kitchen, living room, deck and a screened porch. It was decorated in a cowboy theme and it made us feel at home. You could definitely spend some serious time in this place, as it was not your average “hotel” room! Best of all, the cabins have a separate garage to park your motorcycle, and for the ones that don’t there is covered motorcycle parking up at the lodge. We could already tell

this place was designed for bikers, oh yeah! You could also get a room at the Lodge itself on the lower level and park your bike right outside the window of your room. After a very short walk, we were back at the lodge for dinner and let me tell you, this place was awesome! From the front door, you walk into the Grand Lobby, which actually should be called ‘the Great Gathering Place” with its vaulted ceilings and huge fireplace. Someone had actually spent some time and put a motorcycle design right into the stonework of the fireplace ... you won’t see that anywhere else. So what would you expect on the menu in Northern Georgia? Barbeque of course,

Don’t miss the colors of fall! Make your plans now for the Georgia fall riding scenes!

but how about wild Alaskan salmon and the Thursday night special of ALL YOU CAN EAT Maine lobster for your dining pleasure! This was no ordinary menu as is Copperhead Lodge is no ordinary destination. We had fried grit balls to start with, then a rack of baby back ribs and of course the lobster. Everything we had was delicious and we wished we had saved room for desert after they told us about their decedent treats. Afterwards we strolled into the bar for a couple of beers (which come out of a 28 degree cooler) and chatted with Michelle to find out more about this wonderful discovery. “This place was actually built in 2006 and we bought it in 2009. After a lot of changes it reopened in 2010. It sits on 40 acres in the www.CopperHeadLodge.com

Appalachian Mountains and it had been a dream for my husband Anthony and myself to own and operate such a unique resort,” said Michelle. “By the way, I will be taking a group over to the Sandbar in Hiawassee for bike night on the back roads if you’re interested, kick stands up at 7:00!” she said. Tempting, but we were beat from the day’s traveling. After a good night’s sleep we spent the morning walking the whole resort and checking out every cabin on the property. Everyone had a personality of their own and had something on the property that let you know there was a biker staying there. There are some for sale and there are also lots available for more cabins. We are seriously thinking that Copperhead Lodge would

be a great place to own a vacation rental. There is information on their website that tells you all about it. www.copperheadlodge.com One really great thing that caught our attention about this place is it is an awesome music venue. On the front of the property is an area called “the Yard,” a big grassy field (surrounded by tall trees) which slopes down into a natural amphitheater with a covered stage. There is always somebody scheduled to perform and Friday night we were lucky enough to catch country recording artist, John Berry. Motorcycles and music are two of our favorite things in the world, and now we have the mountains to go along with it ... doesn’t get much better than this, unless you want to take a

dip in the 40,000 gallon saltwater pool! Saturday morning came around quickly and it was time to do some riding. One thing that really stood out to us ... there was no traffic wherever we went. That alone would make a great day of riding. We were told about “the Gauntlet,” a 135 mile ride that starts and ends at Copperhead Lodge. It is one of the main reasons we came up to Georgia in the first place. We were given a detailed map with turn by turn directions on the back. I will admit now that I should have paid attention to those directions! We did follow most of the map to some great roads with twisties and sweepers, and we rode a lot of great roads that were not on our map. Doesn’t matter though, we had a great ride, saw some awesome scenery and the best part was that it ended back at the Copperhead Lodge. That night was the Saturday night tradition of music on the porch. The porch was a huge wrap around area of the lodge that was just perfect for outside dining and drinks. After

another fabulous meal, (Prime Rib and the best Salmon this side of the Mason-Dixon Line) we melted into a couch on the porch for an evening of music by local band, 12 Gauge Persuaders. We don’t see any reason to go back to Deals Gap, as we have found our new mountain get-away, Copperhead Lodge. Everyone here has made us feel welcomed and to tell you the truth, we don’t want to leave. This is a 1st Class operation that can only get bigger and better as time passes and the word gets out. Christmas is looking mighty fine right now, maybe we should make our reservations soon. Now, we need to talk about this rooster next door. ... One last note ... Michelle, you’re one ambitious person, and you do it all; Copperhead Lodge would still be closed if you hadn’t come along. Thank you for your blood, sweat and tears that have made your dream come true. We will see you again. For all the information you need about

We’re inviting you to experience a pivotal moment for the Motor Company. Just like this country, Harley-Davidson has reinvented itself at many turns in our 111-year history – this is another moment in our journey. Join us to celebrate the exciting launch of Harley-Davidson’s first electric motorcycle - Project LiveWire™.

H-D Invites Consumers to Ride, React and Shape the Future of this New Bike. BTR 32 | BORNTORIDE.COM

“It was like going to Disney World and being excited about a new ride and when I was riding it,

Harley-Davidson (NYSE:HOG) reveals Project LiveWire – the first Harley-Davidson® electric motorcycle. In keeping with the company’s customer-led product development approach, starting next week select consumers across the country will be able to ride and provide feedback on the bike, helping to shape the future of Harley-Davidson’s first-ever electric motorcycle. While not immediately for sale, Project LiveWire is specifically designed for the purpose of getting insight into rider expectations of an electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle. “America at its best has always been about reinvention,” said Matt Levatich, President and Chief Operating Officer, Harley-Davidson Motor Company. “And, like America, Harley-Davidson has reinvented itself many times in our history, with customers leading us every step of the way. Project LiveWire is another exciting, customer-led moment in our history.” Spurred by this heritage, the Project LiveWire Experience invites customers to test ride, provide feedback and learn more about the story of the motorcycle. Even those who don’t yet ride will have the opportunity to feel the power of Project LiveWire through Jumpstart – a simulated riding experience. A 2014 U.S. tour – kicking off with a journey down Route 66 – will visit more than 30 Harley-Davidson dealerships now through the end of the year. In 2015, the Project LiveWire Experience will continue in the U.S. and expand into Canada and Europe. It was Disney World.”

Ron Galletti

“This builds on many recent reinvention successes for Harley-Davidson,” said Levatich. “In just the last few years, we’ve broadened our reach to serve an increasingly diverse society, as well as reinvented our approach to product development and manufacturing. This has resulted in cutting-edge products like the recently launched Project Rushmore touring bikes, Harley-Davidson Street 500 and 750 models and this reveal of Project LiveWire.” An Innovative Approach to Advance the Possibilities of Personal Freedom This exciting new ride blends the company’s styling heritage with the latest technology to deliver a new expression of the signature Harley-Davidson look, sound and feel. “Project LiveWire is more like the first electric guitar – not an electric car,” said Mark-Hans Richer, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Harley-Davidson Motor Company. “It’s an expression of individuality and iconic style that just happens to be electric. Angel City Motorcycle Rally, 2X a Year Put it on your Bucket List

Over the past thirty years I have attended more rallies than I can remember, but I have never attended one like this. Angel City looks like a town right out of the old west and it has a campground surrounding the town constructed just for bikers on one hundred acres of land off exit 121 near Unadilla, Georgia. Wayne Smith, a long time biker himself, is the town builder and CEO of Angel City. Wayne is also the Event Coordinator for the rally. He had a dream a few years ago. Wayne wanted to provide a place where bikers could gather for a few days of biker fun with no outside interference. Angel City is that place! Dawn Smith (Wayne’s better half) is the Office Manager who makes sure everything runs smoothly with the camping, RV sites, tickets, vendors, and sponsors. You will usually see her at the ticket booth when you arrive. Two rallies are held there each year, one in April and one in October. I had the pleasure of attending the fall rally. They have an agreement with local law enforcement…we will not cause any trouble for your community outside and you do not come into Angel City and bother us. The agreement works very well. Thousands of bikers came to have a good time for this four day event. Even Unadilla’s mayor came to the rally to thank us for coming! There were beautiful ladies and bikes everywhere I turned. Angel City has all the normal trappings of any rally…live music, a bike show, burnout competition, wet t-shirt contest, bare buns contest and biker

games. But how many events have you attended that also had a tribute to veterans, lawn mower races, Halloween costume and best themed campsite competitions? The town has saloons featuring $2 ice cold long necks, restaurants where I was served a great egg with biscuits and gravy breakfast. The store fronts provide a perfect place for vendors to display their merchandise. There is an event stage in the middle of town where a lot of the activity takes place. A paved road runs around and through town for proud bikers to show off their rides. Reverend Fred has two storefronts which offer free coffee twenty-four hours a day to anyone who wants or needs it. There are hundreds of campsites ranging from tent primitive to full RV hookups. I met bikers from all backgrounds and social classes who were there for just one reason...to have a good time with other likeminded folks. You can walk around the campsites after dark and join in on group parties, listen to stories and enjoy good food and liquid refreshments. The Angel City Rally is motorcycle enthusiasts coming together to enjoy a lifestyle that many people may not understand. It reminded me of events I attended in the old days when it is all about brotherhood and having a good time with other riders. If you get a chance and you want to attend a uniquely different rally, you owe it to yourself to put Angel City on your list of can’t miss events. Ron Hawks

On February 2, 2013, the United States lost an amazing person due to a homicide. His name was Christopher Scott “Chris” Kyle. Chris was born April 8, 1974 in Odessa, Texas. He was like a lot of young men in Texas; he wanted to ride broncos as a profession until he was injured. At that point, Chris decided he wanted to join the military and decided he wanted to enlist in the military.

Iraq Campaign Medal (w/Campaign Star) Global War on Terrorism Service Medal Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (w/3 Service Stars) Marksmanship Medal for Rifle Expert Marksmanship Medal for Pistol Expert Chris made the statement once, “I’m not bothered by those who I’ve killed, but I’m glad for those I’ve saved.” As with many married military personnel, multiple tours into a war zone took its toll. In Chris’ case, it was four tours, which became problematic at home. Chris and his wife decided he would retire from the Navy SEALs after 10 years of service. In 2009, Chris left the Navy

On February 2, 2013, Kyle and a companion, Chad Littlefield, were shot and killed by Eddie Ray Routh, whom Kyle and Littlefield had reportedly taken to the gun range in an effort to help him with his post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Chris’ Memorial Service was held at Cowboys Stadium on February 11 in Arlington, Texas and was attended by thousands of Texans and dignitaries. On the following day Patriot Guard Riders, as well as Police Officers escorted Christopher Scott Kyle on a 200-mile funeral procession from Midlothian to Austin, Texas.

On February 28, I was presented with the opportunity to participate in something that has become close to my heart after the loss of U.S. Navy SEAL Chief Petty Officer Chris Kyle. I met a 38-year-old artist by the name is Greg Marra and he is the man behind American Patriots in Art. While talking with Greg it became apparent to me, the statue deserved an escort on the start of its journey to Texas. A quick email was sent out and low and behold, under a brilliant blue Florida sky with the temperature hovering around 43 degrees eleven Patriot Guard Riders appeared on Monday morning to give Carl and Carol Wallin’s of Reliable Carriers, Inc. a much-deserved escort through

parts of Sarasota and Manatee Counties. I didn’t know Chris personally; however, I have met and spent time with some of his SEAL teammates over the years, most recently this last summer. For more information on this amazing piece of art, go to www.americanpatriotsinart.com or Greg’s Facebook Page: American Patriots in Art LLC. Stand down Chris your tour is done and thank you for your service from a grateful nation. God Bless America, Chris Kyle, his family, and all those who serve or have served to protect this great nation. Terry Longpre

Craven Moorehead The Seven Golden Coins

There I was. Just past the deadline, and all the rattle and hum that is associated with my daily life as a misguided journalist and musician, whose survival depends largely upon what minor amount of prose that I can turn out in a month was creating an unpleasant cacophony of aural discomfort when - OOPS – no internet, but as usual there is always a hang and today this was it. As a lot of people do, I wait till the last minute to get anything done. I swore to myself that since it was a new year, I was going to make significant changes in the way I am currently living my life. It’s not pretty. Unemployed and probably too old to re-inter the workplace as a novice anything, I had to look at all my options, but first I had to go check the refrigerator. Dammit! I only have four beers left! How the heck am I going to turn in a decent column without any substantial liquid encouragement? I have done it before but believe me, it ain’t easy. … I checked my options which included going to the store and purchasing more cheap beer and after a careful examination of my remaining funds, I realized that buying anything didn’t look very promising. I then considered the possibilities of spending several years in prison for strong arm robbery at some local liquor establishment but as all of you, my dedicated readers know – I’m just not that guy! I have always been able to pay my way through one thing or another but this past year hasn’t been all that good. I did play in the band today (for my own anniversary party) which yielded me a whopping four bucks from the tip jar, but that’s not the

point. Most of the time the band provides me a decent amount of money for the effort put in to the gig that we are doing but today we were doing a charitable event. I know. … It could have been worse. Delirious and exhausted, I continued on with the task of writing even though there were several things haunting me. Yeah, I know, my alcohol fueled diatribes may not be the best of all the stories that you have previously consumed from my humble pen but guess what? That’s what all you folks like! At least earlier today I did get the heart and soul fulfilling experience that playing music provides; however, that ain’t buying me any more beer!! I have to think and think fast. And then I thought about the seven golden coins. I remember back in the day, when I had a business, a job and some menial income I began collecting gold coins, some half-dollar coins and the occasional silver dollar. Unfortunately for me these particular golden coins were simply Susan B. Anthony dollars or the Sacagawea dollars that nobody liked. Some of these, even though they were the ‘Coin of the Realm’ were not looked upon as a ‘real’ form of currency. I just collected them because of the oddity. Plus I reveled in the looks on the faces of the people I would try to pass them to. “Yeah Habib, it’s a REAL dollar, now give me my snack crackers!” It was a gas for a while, but now I may need them for gas, or some beer – I haven’t decided yet. … Either way, had they been real gold I would have been on the way to the pawn shop. The magnitude of decisions made when you are in debt and hiding out from everybody are specious and usually beyond correct in many ways. I’m not really hiding and don’t honestly worry too much about facing my bills; I’m just incapable of paying anyone anything. So sue me! Daily survival comes first. I recall being haunted by a voice the

other day. And it wasn’t the golden coins. I was in the grocery store, and a ghostly surrealistic voice seemed to be calling my name. Sure, I was just purchasing some simple staples so that I could survive but something kept calling. Aisle after aisle – ramen noodles, canned gravy, soup, white bread, one stick of butter and a box of saltines – later, I again heard the sound. It was disturbing. I didn’t want to draw attention to myself, or appear as a mentally deranged person, so I continued to push the sparsely filled cart down the next aisle. But I heard it again, and when I turned to look there it was! It’s that damn gallon of Gallo Rhine wine! NOOOO!! It ain’t gonna happen! There is no way that I will ever fall back into that trap! Besides that, I can’t buy that crap with EBT! I tried to simply turn away and speed my pace, but the voice was still there – calling me - haunting me - making me frigging crazy!! You see, when I was younger and playing in bands, I used to buy a gallon of that crap, put it up on my amplifier and enthusiastically sip it as I rehearsed or performed at whatever location we were working. NOT TODAY! Like I said – I drink beer. Want a severe hangover? Get ya a gallon of that stuff and go at it! I think that it was a great time in my life that I don’t want to re-live. A time when I recovered quicker and now looking back, it really was that bad! Or was it? At beer two, I discovered one of those foo-foo drinks in the fridge. Mission accomplished! It’s delicious and I’m not going to the store. I refuse to spend my golden coins and can certainly wait till tomorrow to find out where my next article inspiration comes from. I still have a couple of beers left and a fantastic feeling of satisfaction knowing that tomorrow is another day in the trailer park and that most of us out here live day to day anyhow. Rhine Wine PLEASE leave me alone! I’m not going back to you. Ever! Thanks to my boss, Deb Galletti for this horrid memory from my childhood rock stardom. Until next month, speed safely and skip that cheap wine!! Craven Moorehead

Heaven’s Saints Are you doing the will of God?

In last month’s article, we stated that the will of God is more internal than external, more about the attitude of the heart and less about geography. Philippians 2:13 states, “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Before we can understand how God “wills” and “works” in us, we need to know what is “His good pleasure?” When we define this, we will have defined the will of God for our lives. What is God’s will or pleasure for us? Generally speaking, it is whatever you find in the Word of God (the Bible) that applies to your life. Specifically, it is how and where God’s Spirit directs you through your inward knowing and circumstances in your life. There are too many Scriptures concerning the will of God for our lives to deal with them all in this format, but let’s begin to take a look at a few. Well, the very next two verses tell us to, “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, BTR 44 | BORNTORIDE.COM

children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life.” Another verse commands us, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1Thessaloanians 5:18). Ephesians 5:20 says, “Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” To understand the context of this command, you must read the entire 5th chapter. Another injunction for us is found in Philippians 2:3-4, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. “ Do these really need interpretation? I think not. Are you doing the will of God where you are?
