welcome to season 2012 The Port Adelaide Football Club has embarked on the most exciting era yet in its long and proud history… and it’s fantastic to share the journey with all of our corporate partners. With its tradition of unrivalled success and deep connection to its community and army of supporters, Port Adelaide remains the only authentic club-based team admitted into the AFL during its national expansion. We Are Port Adelaide is more than a branding campaign. It is a statement that defines the club and its values and puts its people – including our corporate supporters – first in our thinking. We know that it’s our people who make the club great. We are stronger and more united than ever, with the ‘One PAFC’ reunification bringing those people together behind ONE club and its TWO teams: the Power in the AFL and the Magpies continuing more than 140 years of unrivalled results in the SANFL. Port Adelaide won its first AFL premiership in 2004 during just its eighth season in the national competition, adding to the club’s record 36 SANFL grand final triumphs.
As we strive towards our next premierships, we are also preparing for a move home to Adelaide Oval where Port Adelaide won more than half of its SANFL flags and where our AFL matches will be showcased at a world class redeveloped stadium from 2014. Right now – with your support our focus is on the 2012 season. It is an honour to have our network of corporate supporters with us as we compete on the national stage. Our games will be seen by more people than ever, with the AFL broadcast deal taking our club live around the country every week. By teaming with Port Adelaide, you have become a part of our family of corporate, community and government partners and, of course, a key player in our drive for success. We look forward to working with you to make our relationship even stronger as we join together behind Port Adelaide. Welcome to the club in 2012 and thank you for your support. Keith Thomas Chief Executive Port Adelaide Football Club
However, it is also a club with a hunger for more success and a determination to achieve it.

introducing the port adelaide football club In the same way that it is embarking on a new era off the field, the Port Adelaide Football Club is building for its next success on the playing arena. With origins dating back to 1870 and its unsurpassed SANFL record helping to deliver its passage into the AFL in 1997, the club exists to win premierships.
Courageous, committed to every contest and forever leading by example, Dom has demonstrated his character and leadership attributes in challenging times.
That success doesn’t come easy. In fact, it’s never been harder. But we are determined to achieve the success craved by the club and everyone associated with it.
A member of Port Adelaide’s 2004 premiership team, he is one of our greats and the perfect leader of our young and fast-developing team.
The Team With the development of an exciting contingent of youth beneath a core of experienced players and a hunger to keep improving, our AFL team is ready to take giant strides.
The Coach A former captain and warrior ruckman, Matthew Primus is the man who defined competitiveness at the Port Adelaide Football Club in its formative years in the AFL.
Senior players - led by captain Dom Cassisi and including Steven Salopek, Jacob Surjan, David Rodan, Danyle Pearce, Kane Cornes, Jay Schulz and Brett Ebert - are the seasoned campaigners.
In 2012 – in his second season as senior coach - that is exactly what he is teaching and demanding of the Power playing group, as he sets the highest of standards.
Then there is the fast-developing middle tier players who are poised to fully deliver on their potential. They include 2011 club champions Travis Boak and Jackson Trengove, Hamish Hartlett, Robbie Gray and Alipate Carlile. This group is bolstered by mature recruits Brad Ebert from West Coast, Hawthorn premiership ruckman Brent Renouf and exCollingwood midfielder John McCarthy. Then there are those with a handful of games but a hunger to make their mark: Cam O’Shea, Ben Jacobs, Matthew Lobbe, Andrew Moore, Jasper Pittard, John Butcher and Daniel Stewart. And finally the youngsters ready for their elite level debut: Chad Wingard, Nathan Blee, Jarrad Redden, Ben Newton, Aaron Young and Brendon Ah Chee. It is a group that will develop together and drive one another towards our shared dream of success.
The Captain Starting 2012 on 184 games, captain Domenic Cassisi is one of the club’s most loyal, courageous and respected servants. He is revered by supporters and his teammates who have awarded him the Fos Williams Medal (Best Team Man Award) for the past four seasons.
Matt shares a special relationship with his players and is a born leader driven to leading their development. He also shares the pain of defeat felt by every Port Adelaide supporter and is equally driven to deliver the success they expect. He is at the helm of a coaching group strengthened by the addition of Power premiership player Josh Carr, dual AFL premier Shaun Rehn and Brad Gotch who have joined Garry Hocking as assistants. Add to that two-time premiership player Tyson Edwards who is working with Daniel Healy and Matthew Nicks as development coaches.

Port Adelaide Football Club Creed We, the Players and Management of the Port Adelaide Football Club, accept the heritage which players and administrators have passed down to us; in so doing we do not intend to rest in idleness but shall strive with all our power to further this club’s unexcelled achievements. To do this we believe There is great merit and noble achievements in winning a premiership. To be successful, each of us must be active, aggressive and devoted to this cause. We agree that success is well within our reach and have confidence that each member of both the team and management will suffer personal sacrifices for the common end. Also we know that, should we after striving to our utmost after giving everything, still not be successful, our efforts will become a further part of this club’s enviable tradition. Finally, we concede that there can be honour in defeat, but to each of us, honourable defeat of our club and guernsey can come only after human endeavour on the playing field is completely exhausted.
