Foreword
During my two-year course in IB Visual Art I was required to plan and explore ideas for studio pieces in investigative workbooks (IWBs). By the end of my high school studies, I had finished four books, each with about a hundred pages, filled with sketches, watercolours and notes on diverse projects. These projects met different fates; however, the best were featured in an art exhibition hosted in a space associated with the gallery ‘Industrialna 11’. The exhibition was part of my external assessment in visual art. Some of the criteria for the IWBs were personal involvement in the work and clarity of ideas. This is why explanatory notes often accompany my sketches.

Overall, despite the many hours and countless mistakes that have accompanied working in my IWBs, I am really happy to have been required to record and develop my ideas in an organized fashion. Looking back at my sketchbooks I cannot say I am proud of every page, but I am glad to be able to see how my technical competence has developed over two years. Also I believe that each page has taught me a lesson in dedication.
The studio pieces developed in my sketchbooks will soon be available soon! Boyana Buyuklieva 14
