BO ZAR EX PO Beeldvorming Een tentoonstellingsseizoen is als een grote legpuzzel. Die puzzel is bovendien een deel van een groter geheel, ons langetermijnbeleid. In elke tentoonstelling kruipen jaren voorbereiding. Ieder jaar weer is het wonderlijk om zien hoe de puzzelstukjes in elkaar vallen. Elke expositie moet er natuurlijk staan op zich. Ze moet een sterk, eigen verhaal vertellen. Per trimester zoeken we ook naar de ideale match. Misschien ondervond u het onlangs aan den lijve: na een bezoek aan de eigentijdse meester Michaël Borremans kijk je met andere ogen naar de Spaanse barokschilder Francisco de Zurbarán, en vice versa. Beide tentoonstellingen tilden elkaar op vanuit heel andere periodes en een andere omgang met de kracht van het beeld. Beeldvorming. Het is de rode draad in het seizoen 2014-2015: het beeld dat kunstenaars van zichzelf, van anderen of van andere culturen ophangen. Perceptie is in tijden van Facebook, spindoctors en mediatisering aan de orde van de dag. Welk beeld geef je van jezelf op het publieke forum? Hoe schilder je de ander af? Wie de perceptie beheerst, verandert uiteindelijk de werkelijkheid. Kunst heeft die rol op het maatschappelijke forum altijd al opgenomen. Kerk en staat deden een beroep op kunstenaars om hun boodschap uit te dragen. Schisma’s in de kerk laten sporen na in de kunstgeschiedenis. De Byzantijnse iconenkunst koppelde zich los van de westerse kunst, die hoe langer hoe verhalender, ja, ‘menselijker’ werd. Het is die evolutie die u dit seizoen te zien krijgt: van de statische gotiek (Paintings from Siena, Ars Narrandi in the Gothic Age of Europe) naar de veel levendigere renaissance (Renaissance Portraiture in the Low Countries) richting de bewogen barok van Rubens tijdens de contrareformatie. Sensation and Sensuality, Rubens en his Legacy brengt de nawerking van de ‘Prins der Schilders’ in beeld en vertelt thematisch waar het in de schilderkunst én in het leven zoal om draait: geweld, macht, lust, compassie, elegantie en poëzie. Beeldvorming heeft ook met clichés en vooroordelen te maken, met bewondering en angst voor het onbekende. Hoe renaissancekunstenaars naar het Ottomaanse rijk keken bijvoorbeeld (The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art). Portretkunst vormt de bindende factor in het voorjaar 2015, van de renaissance (Renaissance Portraiture in the Low Countries) tot vandaag (Contemporary European Portraits). Twee zomers omarmen het seizoen. De Summer of Photography 2014 staat in het teken van het feminisme in de kunst. Vrouwelijke kunstenaars uit de VS en Europa (Woman) én Afrika (Where we’re at!) eigenden zich weer het beeld van de vrouw in de kunst toe. Het eigen lichaam was het geliefkoosde medium én de drager van de boodschap. In de zomer 2015 (A History of Belgian Fashion) focussen we niet op het naakte lichaam, maar laten we net zien hoe kleren de vrouw/de man maken. Sinds de jaren 80 maakt Belgische mode internationaal furore. Tijd voor een overzicht. Dat had u niet verwacht van een ‘cultuurtempel’ als BOZAR, een tentoonstelling over mode? Images Une saison d’expositions, c’est comme un grand puzzle. Mais ce puzzle fait partie d’un ensemble plus vaste : notre politique à long terme. Derrière chaque exposition, il y a des années de préparation. Tous les ans, c’est merveilleux de voir toutes les pièces du puzzle s’emboîter. Chaque exposition doit naturellement constituer une entité autonome. Elle doit raconter sa propre histoire. Mais, chaque trimestre, nous cherchons aussi la « paire idéale d’expositions ». Peut-être en avez-vous fait l’expérience récemment : après une visite de la rétrospective consacrée au maître contemporain Michaël Borremans, peut-être avez-vous vu d’un autre œil le travail du peintre baroque espagnol Francisco de Zurbarán, et vice versa ? Les deux expositions se complétaient, même si les artistes appartiennent à des époques différentes et ont un traitement distinct de la puissance expressive de l’image. L’image. C’est le fil rouge de la saison 2014-2015 : l’image que présentent les artistes d’eux-mêmes, des autres ou des autres cultures. À l’époque de Facebook, des spin doctors et de la médiatisation, la perception est à l’ordre du jour. Quelle image donnez-vous de vous-même sur la place publique ? Comment dépeignez-vous les autres ? Celui qui maîtrise la perception est, finalement, capable de modifier la réalité. L’art a toujours assumé ce rôle dans la société. L’Église et l’État faisaient appel aux artistes pour transmettre leurs messages. Les schismes de l’Église ont laissé des traces dans l’histoire de l’art. L’art byzantin des icônes s’est distancié de l’art occidental, qui, au fil du temps, est devenu plus narratif, plus « humain ». C’est cette évolution qui vous sera présentée cette saison : du gothique statique (Paintings from Siena, Ars Narrandi in the Gothic Age of Europe) à la Renaissance, bien plus dynamique (Renaissance Portraiture in the Low Countries), et au baroque de Rubens pendant la Contre-Réforme. Sensation and Sensuality, Rubens en his Legacy met en avant l’influence du « Prince des peintres » et montre les thèmes autour desquels tournent la peinture et la vie : la violence, la puissance, la luxure, la compassion, l’élégance et la poésie. L’image est aussi faite de clichés et de préjugés, nés de l’admiration et de la peur de l’inconnu. Quel était, par exemple, le regard des artistes de la Renaissance sur l’Empire ottoman (The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art) ? Le portrait sera le thème central de nos expositions au printemps 2015, de la Renaissance (Renaissance Portraiture in the Low Countries) à aujourd’hui (Contemporary European Portraits). Deux étés encadrent la saison. Le Summer of Photography 2014 sera placé sous le signe du féminisme dans l’art. Les artistes féminines des États-Unis et d’Europe (Woman) ainsi que d’Afrique (Where we’re at!) se sont appropriées l’image de la femme dans l’art. Le corps était leur média préféré et leur permettait de faire passer un message. Pendant l’été 2015 (A History of Belgian Fashion), nous ne nous concentrerons plus sur le corps nu, mais sur la façon dont les vêtements définissent la femme et l’homme qui les portent. Depuis les années 80, la mode belge fait fureur sur la scène internationale. Il est temps d’en présenter un aperçu. Vous ne vous attendiez pas à une exposition sur la mode dans un « temple de la culture » comme BOZAR ? C’est aussi une question d’image ! Image An exhibition season is like a large puzzle. But the puzzle itself is also part of a bigger picture, our long-term policy. Every exhibition takes years to prepare. And every year again it is amazing to see how all the pieces fall into place. Because every exhibition is a stand-alone event with its own, powerful story. Every three months we also search for the ideal match. Perhaps you recently experienced this first-hand: because after visiting the contemporary master painter Borremans you look at the works of the Spanish Baroque painter, Francisco de Zurbarán through different eyes and vice versa. The two exhibitions enhance each other, even though the artists were born in completely different periods and take a completely different approach to the power of imagery. Image. It is a key theme in the 2014-2015 season: the image that artists paint of themselves, of others or of other cultures. Perception has become vital in the era of Facebook, spin doctors and mediatisation. How do you come across in public? How do you portray the other? Any master of perception will ultimately alter reality. Art has always played this role in society. Both the church and the state used artists to convey their message. Likewise the schisms in the Church left their mark on art history. Byzantine icon for example art broke free from western art, which became increasingly narrative, “human” even. It is this evolution which we chose to highlight during the upcoming season at the Centre for Fine Arts: from the static Gothic (Paintings from Siena, Ars Narrandi in the Gothic Age of Europe) to the much livelier Renaissance (Renaissance Portraiture in the Low Countries) and Rubens’s energetic Baroque art, during the CounterReformation. Sensation and Sensuality, Rubens and his Legacy tells the story of the master’s impact in images and takes a closer look at some of the key themes in painting, and by extension in life: violence, power, lust, compassion, elegance and poetry. But image is also associated with clichés and preconceptions, with admiration and a fear of the unknown. The Renaissance artists’ perception of the Ottoman Empire for example (The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art). Portrait art is a binding factor in the spring of 2015, from the Renaissance (Rennaisance Portraiture in the Low Countries) to the present (Contemporary European Portraits). This season starts and ends with a summer. The 2014 Summer of Photography focuses on feminism in art. Female artists from the United States and Europe (Woman) as well as Africa (Where we’re at!) re-appropriated the image of women in art. Their own body became their preferred medium, which they used to convey their message. In the summer of 2015 (A History of Belgian fashion) we will zoom in on the nude body as well as showing how clothes make the man/women. Belgian fashion has caused an international furore since the Eighties. We think the time is ripe for a retrospective. Not something you’d expect to see at a “culture temple” like BOZAR? Met zijn werk, dat herinneringen oproept aan Velázquez, Goya en Manet, beklemtoont hij de absurditeit van het bestaan en doet hij een beroep op de macht van de verbeelding. Deze tentoonstelling kende al heel wat succes en reist na Brussel naar Tel Aviv en Dallas. Mis ze niet.

WOMAN. The Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1970s.

Works from the SAMMLUNG VERBUND BOZAR belicht de rol van vrouwelijke kunstenaars uit de jaren 70. Je ziet het zeldzame werk van 29 fotografen als Renate Bertlmann, Martha Rosler of Valie Export. Deze vrouwen becommentarieerden de traditionele rolpatronen en bekritiseerden de voorstelling van de vrouw in de kunst en de media. Ondanks hun verscheidenheid kan je een internationale collectieve beweging zien. Het ‘beeld van de vrouw’ werd eeuwen door mannelijke projecties en fantasieën geschapen. Pas in de jaren 70 hebben vrouwelijke artiesten dat beeld radicaal veranderd door zelf een beeld van hun sekse te scheppen. Heel vaak staan ze kritisch tegen stereotypen en maatschappelijke clichés. Bovendien braken ze met de hegemonie van de schilderkunst en gingen aan de slag met nieuwe media als video en fotografie. NL

BOZAR met en lumière le rôle des artistes féminines dans les années 70. Vous découvrirez le travail exceptionnel de 29 photographes, dont Renate Bertlmann, Martha Rosler et Valie Export. Ces femmes ont commenté les rôles traditionnellement associés à chaque sexe et critiqué la représentation de la femme dans l’art et les médias. Malgré leur diversité, vous discernerez un mouvement collectif international. Pendant des siècles, ce sont des projections et fantasmes masculins qui ont façonné l’« image de la femme ». Ce n’est que dans les années 70 que cette représentation a été radicalement modifiée, lorsque des artistes féminines ont créé elles-mêmes une image de leur sexe. Elles portent très souvent un regard critique sur les stéréotypes et les clichés masculins. Elles ont aussi rompu avec l’hégémonie de la peinture en s’intéressant à de nouveaux médias, comme la vidéo et la photographie. FR

BOZAR highlights the role of female artists from the Seventies. You can see the rare work of 29 photographers such as Renate Bertlmann, Martha Rosler or Valie Export. These women commented on the traditional role patterns, criticising the representation of women in the arts and in the media. Despite their diversity this is an international collective movement. For centuries the “image of woman” was shaped by male projections and fantasies. Female artists succeeded in radically changing this image in the Seventies by creating an image of their gender themselves. They often take a critical view of stereotypes and social clichés. Moreover they finally broke down the hegemony of painting, choosing to work instead with such new media as video and photography. EN

Other voices on gender Where we’re at! Other voices on gender brengt het werk samen van vrouwelijke fotografen en videokunstenaars met een culturele achtergrond in Afrika, de Caraïben en eilanden van de Stille Oceaan. Zowel het werk van de nieuwe generatie als van de pioniers is nog altijd brandend actueel, want de artiesten laten zich inspireren door gendergelijkheid, seksuele identiteit en stereotypen over geslachten. Where we’re at! Other Voices on Gender présente le travail de photographes et vidéastes féminines dont les cultures s’enracinent en Afrique, aux Caraïbes et dans le Pacifique. Les œuvres de pionnières autant que celles de la jeune génération sont d’une actualité brûlante, car les artistes ont basé leur travail sur la question du genre, les identités sexuelles et les représentations sociales qui les visent. Contemporary Greek Art in Times of Crisis 33 Griekse hedendaagse kunstenaars tonen hun werk over de impact van de crisis op hun land. Ars Narrandi in the Gothic Age of Europe Samen met de prestigieuze Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena en het Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen brengt BOZAR hulde aan Siena, een stad met een grote schildertraditie. De evolutie van de figuratieve schilderkunst kende er een heel eigen verloop: van de statische laat-Byzantijnse iconografie naar meer verhalende kunstwerken. We tonen een zestigtal verfijnde meesterwerken die getuigen van de revolutionaire kunst die tussen de 13e en de 15e eeuw beoefend werd. De meesters uit Siena toonden een toenemende interesse in de voorstelling van ruimte alsook menselijke emoties en kozen voor een innoverend kleurenpalet. Ze fascineerden ook de andere centra in Italië en drukten uiteindelijk hun stempel in heel Europa. Een unieke kans om deze belangrijke werken in Brussel te zien! NL

BOZAR pays tribute to Siena and its magnificent pictorial tradition in collaboration with the prestigious Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena and the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen. Sienese artists developed their own style over time, evolving from the rigid patterns of lateByzantine iconography to more narrative works of art. The exhibition showcases sixty masterpieces which bear testimony to a revolutionary form of art which, from the thirteenth century until the fifteenth century, took an increasing interest in space and in exploration of human emotions and used brilliant, unusual colours. The Yellow Side of Sociality Italian Artists in Europe Het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten en de Dena Foundation for Contemporary Art brengen een tentoonstelling met hedendaagse Italiaanse kunstenaars die in de rest van Europa de typisch Italiaanse manier van ‘samen-leven’ belichamen. Sensation and Sensuality Rubens and his Legacy Rubens was de Quentin Tarantino van zijn tijd. De Vlaamse meester-schilder zette scènes neer vol geweld en wellust, maar ook met compassie en elegantie. Die thema’s inspireerden vele eeuwen de kunstenaars na hem. In deze unieke tentoonstelling van BOZAR samen met het Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerpen en de Royal Academy of Arts in Londen maak je opnieuw kennis met het oeuvre van dit universele genie en dat van zijn erfgenamen. Je ontdekt ook doeken van Van Dyck, Watteau, Delacroix, Manet tot Kokoschka, naast etsen van Rembrandt en Picasso. Daarnaast is er een concertreeks met het muziekrepertoire uit de tijd dat Rubens verbleef aan het hof van Albrecht en Isabella op de Coudenberg, vlakbij het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten.

Renaissance Portraiture in the Low Countries Status Update

De portretkunst bloeide in de renaissance als nooit tevoren. In tijden van religieuze conflicten en wetenschappelijke ontdekkingen gingen kunstenaars op zoek naar de correcte afbeelding van het gelaat. In de Lage Landen waren Antwerpen, Brugge, Brussel, Amsterdam, Utrecht en Haarlem belangrijke centra van de portretkunst. Kunstenaars als Quinten Matsijs, Joos van Cleve, Simon Bening, Ambrosius Benson, Joachim Beuckelaer en Catharina van Hemessen vereeuwigden hun tijdgenoten in verbluffend knappe schilderijen. De kunstwerken zijn ook het onderwerp van jarenlang wetenschappelijk onderzoek, dat belicht wordt in deze eerste grote overzichtstentoonstelling in vijftig jaar. NL

During the Renaissance the art of portraiture flourished in an unprecedented manner. In times of religious conflict and scientific discoveries artists embarked upon a quest to correctly portray the human face. Ze neemt de identiteit van de Europese burgers onder de loep sinds de val van de Berlijnse Muur in 1989, een periode van grote sociale en politieke veranderingen. Sindsdien stellen steeds meer mensen zich de vraag welke identiteit ze aannemen. De tentoonstelling belicht het individu aan de hand van tegengestelde concepten: rijk en arm, allochtoon en autochtoon, groep en individu, stad en platteland. Daarnaast toont de tentoonstelling aan hoe kunsthistorische stromingen zoals de renaissance de esthetiek van de portretfotografie tot vandaag beïnvloed. What is the meaning of identity? Does someone feel French, Latvian or European? That is the key question of the European Portraits exhibition that examines the identity of European citizens since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, a period of great political and social change. People are increasingly wondering which identity to assume. The exhibition focuses on the individual based on dichotomies like rich and poor, indigenous and foreign, group and invidivual, city and rural areas. On the other hand the exhibition also explains how art-historical movements such as the Renaissance continue to influence the aesthetics of portrait photography even today, establishing a direct link with the exhibition Renaissance Portraiture in the Low Countries. The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art Na de val van Constantinopel op 29 mei 1453 groeide de westerse fascinatie voor de hoogstaande Ottomaanse cultuur en wetenschap. Ondanks de vooroordelen en militaire conflicten was er een wederzijdse culturele aantrekkingskracht. Terwijl de handel floreerde, reisden Europese kunstenaars naar de Bosporus en de culturele uitwisseling bereikte een hoogtepunt. De tentoonstelling The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art (Het Ottomaanse Oosten in de kunst van de Renaissance) toont de dynamische, maar vaak dubbelzinnige aantrekkingskracht die het MiddenOosten uitoefende op westerse kunstenaars. De tentoonstelling focust op de invloed van de islamitische wereld op het renaissancedenken. After the Fall of Constantinople on 29 May 1453, Western fascination for Ottoman culture and science only increased. In spite of the prejudice and the military conflicts, there was a mutual cultural attraction. While trade flourished, artists crossed the Bosporus culminating in an extraordinary cultural exchange. The exhibition The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art highlights the dynamic yet often ambiguous appeal that the Middle East exerted on Western artists. reflecting on five centuries of cultural relations Brussels – Krakow – Vienna – Istanbul – Rotterdam - Biella Dit internationale project plaatst de culturele relaties tussen Europa en het Ottomaanse Rijk/Turkije in de kijker. De invloed van de Ottomaanse wereld op de westerse renaissancekunst komt aan bod in de tentoonstelling The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art in zowel BOZAR als het Nationaal Museum in Krakau. Daarnaast werkte ook het Kunsthistorisches Museum in Wenen een parcours uit doorheen haar impressionante collectie. Conferenties in Rotterdam, Krakau en Istanboel belichten de nog altijd complexe, maar erg dynamische betrekkingen tussen oost en west. Europese en Turkse kunstenaars gaan bovendien op ‘blind date’ sessies in Italië en Istanboel.

Ce projet international met à l’honneur les relations culturelles entre l’Europe et l’Empire ottoman/ la Turquie. L’influence du monde ottoman sur l’art de la Renaissance occidental sera au centre de l’exposition The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art à BOZAR et au Musée national de Cracovie. Quant au Kunsthistorisches Museum de Vienne, il a imaginé un parcours à travers son impressionnante collection. Des conférences à Rotterdam, Cracovie et Istanbul mettront en lumière les rapports toujours complexes, mais très dynamiques, entre l’Occident et l’Orient. Enfin, des artistes européens et turcs se rencontreront en Italie et à Istanbul à l’occasion d’une « blind date ». FR

This international project puts the cultural ties between Europe and the Ottoman Empire/Turkey in the spotlight. The influence of the Ottoman world on western Renaissance art will be examined in more detail in the exhibition The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art in BOZAR and in the National Museum in Krakow. Besides this the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna has developed a thematic tour through its impressive collection. Conferences in Rotterdam, Cracow and Istanbul highlight the dynamic albeit still very complex relations between east and west. Chinese Utopia's Revisited - The Elephants In een geglobaliseerde kunstscene nemen Chinese kunstenaars een steeds belangrijker plaats in. Zij zoeken sinds de jaren 80 aansluiting bij de westerse avant-gardekunst, maar in het oude Europa zijn we niet snel geneigd ons voor deze ‘news kids on the block’ te openen. In deze tentoonstelling krijg je sleutels en inzichten om tien verrassende Chinese kunstenaars voor het eerst in het Westen te ontdekken.

Young Belgian Art Prize 2015 Sinds 1950 is de Young Belgian Art Prize (voorheen de Prijs Jonge Belgische Schilderkunst) een van de belangrijkste evenementen voor jonge kunstenaars uit de verschillende gemeenschappen. De wedstrijd wil jong talent in België aanmoedigen en promoten. Een jury van internationale curatoren komt in november 2014 samen om te beslissen welke finalisten tijdens de zomer van 2015 nieuwe werken mogen tentoonstellen. NL

Depuis 1950, le Young Belgian Art Prize (anciennement Prix de la Jeune Peinture Belge) est l’un des événements majeurs de la jeune création issue de nos différentes communautés. Ce concours tend à encourager et à promouvoir les jeunes talents en Belgique. Un jury international de commissaires d'expositions se réunit en novembre 2014 pour sélectionner les finalistes qui sont invités à présenter de nouvelles œuvres au Palais des Beaux-Arts pendant tout l’été 2015. Het Brusselse architectenbureau Vers plus de bien-être V+ heeft opmerkelijke gebouwen neergepoot. Het ontwierp onder meer het cultureel centrum van Deinze, MAD in Brussel, Porte des Arts in Charleroi en het Museum voor Schone Kunsten in Verviers. Het bureau kwam in 2008 als eerste aan bod in NICHE, een reeks over jonge architecten in BOZAR. In de zomer van 2015 organiseert BOZAR ARCHITECTURE/A+ een eerste solotentoonstelling over V+. NL

A History of Belgian Fashion Surrealistisch, avant-gardistisch en expliciet: dat zijn de sleutelwoorden van de Belgische mode, die internationaal een ijzersterke reputatie heeft. De tentoonstelling schetst een uniek historisch beeld van het DNA van de Belgische mode, van de legendarische Antwerpse Zes met onder meer Dries van Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck en Ann Demeulemeester, tot de eigenzinnige creaties van Martin Margiela, A.F. Vandevorst en Raf Simons. Naast de gevestigde waarden worden invloedrijke spelers uit verschillende modeen kunstdisciplines belicht. We zetten ook het belang van de Belgische modescholen in de verf, vooral de Modeacademie in Antwerpen en La Cambre in Brussel. Opkomend talent mag uiteraard niet ontbreken, denk maar aan Jean-Paul Lespagnard en Christian Wijnants. NL

AfricaMuseum @ BOZAR AfricaMuseum@BOZAR is een ontmoetingsruimte van het Koninklijk Museum voor MiddenAfrika, die ze opzetten in het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten voor de duur van de renovatiewerken tot in 2017. Naast Studio Congo (een atelier voor kinderen), en een presentatie van de renovatiewerken aan de hand van de maquette van het project, biedt deze ruimte ook plaats aan tijdelijke opstellingen. De thema’s houden verband met het museum.

AfricaMuseum@BOZAR est un espace de rencontre du Musée royal de l’Afrique centrale installé au Palais des Beaux-Arts pendant sa rénovation jusqu’en 2017. Outre le Studio Congo (un atelier pour le jeune public), et une présentation de la rénovation autour de la maquette du projet, cet espace abrite également des installations temporaires. Les thématiques retenues pour ces installations sont liées au musée.

AfricaMuseum@BOZAR is the meeting space of the Royal Museum for Central Africa set up at the Centre for Fine Arts during its renovation until 2017. In addition to its Studio Congo (a workshop for young audiences) and a presentation of the architectural renovation model, this space also presents temporary installations on themes relevant to the Africa Museum.

La première installation, 500 000 pages de connaissance. Plus d’un siècle de recherche au musée concerne les publications du MRAC depuis la création de l'institut en 1898. Vingt-cinq mètres linéaires de livres – présentés sous la forme d’une ligne du temps – retracent l'histoire et la dynamique de cette institution scientifique. Des ouvrages sont également proposés en consultation pour le public.

The first installation, 500 000 pages of knowledge. Over a century of research at the museum features the publications of the Africa Museum since the institution’s creation in 1898. Twentyfive linear meters of books retrace the history and the output of this institution as research and knowledge centre. Next to a timeline, books are presented to the public for perusal.

Meer dan een eeuw onderzoek in het museum, heeft betrekking op de publicaties van het KMMA sinds de oprichting van de instelling in 1898. Een vijfentwintig meter lange rij boeken, opgesteld in de vorm van een tijdlijn, doet de geschiedenis en evolutie van de wetenschappelijke instelling herleven. Het publiek kan bovendien de publicaties inkijken.

BOZAR BRASSERIE De BOZARBRASSERIE werd gerestaureerd in de zuiverste artdecostijl. De open keuken naar de nieuwste mode is het evenbeeld van die in La Paix, het bekroonde restaurant waar chefkok David Martin ook aan het fornuis staat. Op het menu: een brasseriekeuken nieuwe stijl, in de houtoven gegrild vlees met gegarandeerde herkomstbenaming en formules op maat van het cultuurhuis waarin het onderdak vindt.

La BOZARBRASSERIE, restaurée à l’identique dans le plus pur style Art Déco, propose une cuisine dernier cri, exactement comme à La Paix, le restaurant étoilé du chef David Martin qui en a pris les rênes. The BOZARBRASSERIE, faithfully restored in pure art deco style, offers contemporary cuisine just like that served at La Paix, the Michelin-starred restaurant run by chef David Martin, who is also at the helm of the BOZARBRASSERIE.
