HMD Kontro Sealless Pumps are the pioneers of zero leakage, magnetic drive pumps, having been the first to develop the concept and supplied their first pump in 1947.

Sealless magnetic drive pumps are suited to a wide variety of applications, from standard pumps for use in many industrial processes, particularly those in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biochemical sectors through to specialist, engineered pumps for use in the petrochemical, oil and gas industries, including sealless pumps that comply with API 685 and the appropriate elements of API 610.

HMD Kontro supplies sealless magnetic drive pumps to ASME B73.3, ISO 2858 and 15783, and API 685 industry standards, with enhanced design options including the ZeroLoss non-metallic containment shell for improved efficiency and Secondary Control or Containment for added safety and environmental protection.

HMD Kontro pumps accommodate flow rates of up to 686 m3/h and differential heads in excess of 240 m, are suited to low and high temperature pumping applications from -100 degC to +350 degC, and system pressures from vacuum to 185 bar.

Tens of thousands of HMD Kontro pumps are installed worldwide in many hostile environments. Specific benefits include low maintenance costs with no seals to replace or seal support systems to maintain, total product containment providing increased safety for plant personnel and better environmental protection, and durability with many HMD Kontro pumps still operating after multiple decades of use.

HMD Kontro Sealless Pumps are a division of Sundyne.

Pump Testing and Diagnosis: After pump repair or servicing we fully test each pump, including temperature and vibration. A full performance test curve is also provided to confirm optimum performance and provide engineers with a datum to work from when installing the pump. On-site performance analysis can also be undertaken to test the performance of the pump in operation. All testing is carried out in accordance with BS EN ISO 9906-2000; API 610 or customers’ specified standards.

Mechanical Repair: We have machining and repair facilities to cover all the mechanical aspects of a pump repair and reverse engineering capabilities for obsolete and long lead parts. Parts can be radiographed, NDT tested, and PMI tested to ensure quality and maximise the life of the pump.

Fitting Facilities: Our workshops boasts a wide range of fitting facilities, including bench tools for all pumps, torque equipment, a full range of calibrated measuring equipment and a range of presses to enable the removal of impellers, couplings and bearings. We have lifting capabilities up to 40 tonne, 5m x 6m access and a 13m (42ft) working height to handle most pumps.

Balancing: With balancing facilities up to 10 tonnes for impeller and rotor balancing, all impellers are balanced prior to assembly. We strive to balance to as close to G1 as possible, without compromising the impeller, to ensure smoother operation and prolong bearing life.

Other Services: We also offer protective and performance coatings as required, to improve pump efficiency and prolong the life of the equipment. Where parts are obsolete or original spares are unavailable, on long lead-times or no longer fit for purpose we can reverse engineer all parts for improved performance. We can also design and specify systems from scratch and have full 3D CAD capabilities in-house to support these projects.
