Our beginner courses provide a solid foundation in pumping technology, with a focus on the pump basics and technical aspects and are ideal for anyone new to the world of pumps

• Introduction to Pumping Technology (E-Learning): This online course is the perfect starting point for anyone new to the industry. It covers the basics of pump technology and sets the foundation for further learning.

• Pump Fundamentals (Classroom or online): This one-day course builds on the knowledge gained from the introduction course and on correct terminology usage and the more technical aspects of pump technology. An essential course delivered regularly at our offices in the West Midlands, live online and can be delivered as a closed course, or onsite at your premises.

Our intermediate courses are stand-alone one-day courses, perfect for those who have completed the Pump Fundamentals course and are looking to take their knowledge to the next level. We recommend that students choose from the courses below that best supplement their job role or function.

• Pump Selection: This covers the process of selecting the right pump for a specific application, taking into consideration factors such as flow rate, head, and efficiency.

• Pump Testing: Covers the testing and performance analysis of pumps, including the use of test rigs and instruments.

• Pump Systems: Looks at the design and operation of pumping systems, including the use of multiple pumps, control systems, and instrumentation.

• Introduction to Hydraulic Design Principles of Centrifugal Pumps: This is a specialised course covering the hydraulic design principles of centrifugal pumps, including the use of performance curves and system curves and is usually delivered as an on-site course

• Pump Repair & Maintenance: This popular two-day course covers the repair and maintenance of pumps, including disassembly, inspection, and the importance of planned maintenance, and is only available as a face-face course

• VSD: This new course covers the use of variable speed drives (VSDs) for controlling the speed of pumps, including the benefits and limitations of VSDs. Delivered as a basic one-day introduction course and a further oneday course concentrating on more advanced aspects.

• The Certified Pump Systems Auditor Course (CPSA): A four-day residential course designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct a full pumping system audit to identify energy savings for their company and their customers
