“One Piece” - Season 1

Eiichiro Oda’s “One Piece,” Japan’s highest-selling manga series in history, takes on a new seafaring adventure on Netflix. The new eight-episode, live-action series “One Piece” premieres Thursday, Aug. 31. Set in a world of magic, monsters, mythical creatures and pirates, the series stars Iñaki Godoy (“Who Killed Sara?”) as Monkey D. Luffy, a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom for as long as he can remember — and who happens to be made out of rubber. Setting sale from his small village, Luffy embarks on a perilous journey to find One Piece, a legendary, fabled treasure that will help him to become the king of pirates. Pulling together what he hopes will be the crew he’s always dreamed of, Luffy and his fellow pirates face off against enemies and monsters of all species and sizes in their quest for glory. “Women Talking” (2022)

Written and directed by Canadian filmmaker Sarah Polley (“Stories We Tell,” 2012), the critically acclaimed, 2022 film, “Women Talking,” will make its streaming debut Tuesday, Aug. 29, on Prime Video. Based on the novel of the same name, written by Canadian author Miriam Toews (itself inspired by a remote and isolated Mennonite community based in Bolivia), this carefully crafted adaptation features an all-star ensemble cast including Rooney Mara (“Carol,” 2015), Claire Foy (“First Man,” 2018), Judith Ivey (“The Devil’s Advocate,” 1997), Jessie Buckley (“Wild Rose,” 2018), Ben Whishaw (“The Lobster,” 2015) and Frances McDormand (“Fargo,” 1996), who also served as a producer on the film. Together, the ensemble tells the story of a group of similarly isolated American Mennonite women – women who begin to question their past, present and future once they begin sharing with each other, and discover an overarching truth: the men of their colony have a disturbing history of committing acts of sexual violence and assault against them. “Chip ‘N’ Dale: Park Life” - Season 2, Part 2 Nervous worrier Chip and laid-back dreamer Dale are back with more hilarious shenanigans when “Chip ‘N’ Dale: Park Life” releases a second batch of episodes from its second season, Wednesday, Aug. 30, on Disney+. This children’s computer-animated series — presented in a classic, non-verbal cartoon comedy style — follows the lovably mischievous chipmunks Chip (Matthew Géczy, “Les Légendaires”) and Dale (Kaycie Chase, “The Smurfs”) as they live the luxurious park life and go on sky-high adventures. As the duo take on bigger and wilder adventures than ever and face down larger-than-life bullies, they continue on their quest to increase their acorn stash to gargantuan proportions. All the while, Chip and Dale are joined in their mayhem by Disney favorite characters including Pluto (Bill Farmer, “A Goofy Movie,” 1995), Donald Duck (Sylvain Caruso, “Kingdom Hearts,” 2002) and more. From creator and writer Kathleen Shugrue (“Camp Camp”) and director Jean Cayrol (“Paprika”), the series also voice stars David Gasman (“Mush Mush & the Mushables”), Lee Delong (“Invisible Network of Kids”) and Barbara Scaff (“Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” 2017).

“Star Wars: Ahsoka”

After joining the franchise in 2020, starring as the liveaction Ahsoka Tano in Season 2 of “The Mandalorian,” Rosario Dawson (“Rent,” 2005) returns to a galaxy far, far away to reprise her role as Tano in the Star Wars miniseries, “Ahsoka,” now streaming on Disney+, with new episodes airing weekly. The “Mandalorian” spinoff – developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni (both of “The Mandalorian”) – takes place during the same time-frame as the initial series, set somewhere after the events of 1983’s “Return of the Jedi.” It also serves to continue the plot of “Star Wars Rebels,” following Tano (a Jedi Knight) as she investigates galactic threats following the fall of the Empire. Initially, Tano was first introduced in the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” (there voiced by Ashley Eckstein, “Tales of the Jedi”), but her popularity in “The Mandalorian” led to interest in a series focused solely on Dawson’s character. “Ahsoka” is set to see the return of more familiar faces, including Lars Mikkelsen (“Headhunter,” 2009) as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Hayden Christensen (“Star Wars: Attack of the Clones,” 2002) as Anakin Skywalker – or someone much darker, perhaps – while also welcoming newcomers to the franchise, like Natasha Lui Bordizzo (“The Society”), Ray Stevenson (“Thor,” 2011), Ivanna Sakhno (“The Reunion”), Diana Lee Inosanto (“The AM Archives”), David Tennant (“Doctor Who”) and more.

“The Conversations Project” - Season 1

“Spellbound” - Season 1A
