Wicked

Long before Dorothy landed in Oz, Galinda (Grande) and Elphaba (Erivo) — Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West, respectively — were once good friends. After the unintentional release of her powers while seeing her sister off to Shiz University, a school of magic, Elphaba is invited to be privately tutored at the institution. She accepts in hopes of meeting the Wizard (Gold-

blum) and to be “de-greenified.”

Although Elphaba is disappointed to be roomed with Galinda at first — as the two could not be more different from one another, with Galinda being widely beloved and Elphaba being ostracized due to her skin color and her inability to control her powers — the two develop a loving bond. Elphaba eventually learns of the discrimination against the school’s animal professors and that animals

across Oz are losing their rights and ability to speak. Both Galinda and Elphaba’s attempts to rectify the unjust actions against the animals cement their future reputations in the Land of Oz.

Werewolves

During a supermoon event, the light from the moon activates a dormant gene in humans, turning them into werewolves and resulting in millions of gruesome deaths. One year later, the super-

moon is on the verge of rising again, and the survivors must band together to try to control the outbreak of lycanthropy. When scientists Dr. Chen (Law) and Dr. Aranda (Phillips) fail to treat the mutation, ordinary people are forced to become soldiers in the attempt to survive another outbreak. Family man Wesley Marshall (Grillo) coaches his wife (Hadera) and daughter in how to protect themselves while he bands together with other unaffected humans to try to control the situation.

Americans have donated more than $50 million to the effort [California wildfire relief] ... and it’s not just Americans who are pitching in because Canada and Mexico are sending teams to help fight the fires. Gracias, Mexico. Gracias. And, to Canada, gracias-eh? I don’t

speak Canadian but I’m very grateful.

We’re less than a week away from Trump’s inauguration and I know, I know, as much as I’m not looking forward to it — waiting for it is just so tense. It feels like we’re all James Bond strapped to the table and the laser is slowly inching toward our crotch and it’s like enough

about your evil plot to conquer Greenland, just zap America’s junk off already.

Complete the grid so each row, column and 3-by-3 box (in bold borders) contains every digit 1 to 9. For strategies on how to solve Sudoku, visit sudoku.org.uk.

2025 is bringing a lot of difficult change to the country that we all love. For instance, at the end of the month [January], Starbucks will start making customers pay if they want to use the bathroom. What do you mean start making them pay? Whenever you go into a Starbucks bathroom you pay a heavy price. No amount of cake pops could ever remove the memory.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

It’s looking like the Supreme Court is going to uphold the ban on TikTok starting this weekend.

TikTok doesn’t have much of an argument. The only thing they told the court was a ban would not be very mindful or demure.

If the ban goes into effect, Americans can still see TikToks, but the app will stop working due to a lack of updates. It’s pretty much what happened to President Biden.

Delta Airlines just announced a new partnership with DraftKings. Yes, soon you’ll be able to bet on which passenger goes full Karen on the flight attendants.

Amazon announced that it’s phasing out its “Try Before You Buy” option. That’s too bad. I’m going to miss buying underwear that 10 people have already tried.

Jimmy Kimmel Live!

If you’ve been to this neighborhood before, our neighborhood, you know that Hollywood Boulevard’s crawling with people dressed like superheroes. We got Catwoman, we got a lot of Spider-Man, I mean there are so many Spider-Man, Spider-Man after SpiderMan, and when the fires broke out, those heroes did nothing.

There are also some notso-good deeds happening. There have been reports of looters showing up to go

through people’s houses. This guy was caught going through a house dressed as a firefighter, which is so gross. I mean, if you can’t trust a male stripper who can you trust nowadays?

Late Night With Seth Meyers

In a new interview on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg criticized Apple and said that the rival tech company hasn’t “Really invented anything great in a while.” And I got to say, there’s nothing quite like hearing you’re out of good ideas from the guy who invented Threads. Dunkin’ has partnered with a personal care brand to offer a new collection of deodorant, shampoo, conditioner and body wash in a Boston cream scent. And in a related story, Ben Affleck has been eaten by ants!

Beer company AnheuserBusch announced yesterday [Jan. 12] that they will be raising keg prices by $5 for New York City customers. In response, your landlord raised your rent by $500.

President Biden delivered his farewell address from the Oval Office tonight [Dec. 15] after more than a half-century of public service. And by the time he was finished, there wasn’t an open eye in the house.
