EXPERT TIPS FOR AN EASIER EXPERIENCE Going on a trip with children is often a unique experience for many parents, regardless of whether it’s the first time or the fifth. From what to carry to where to stay and what to do, there are numerous aspects to consider. However, by following some expert tips, the experience can be a safe and enjoyable one for everyone.

01. P A C K W I S E LY ( A N D S P A R I N G LY ) When children are part of the trip, the tendency is to overpack in the hopes of being able to cater for every imaginable situation. However, many things can be found (and bought) at the destination, so only pack what’s necessary.

AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, PLAN FOR EVENING FLIGHTS, EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN BE RELATIVELY EXPENSIVE.

FLIGHT PLANNING As much as possible, plan for evening flights, even though they can be relatively expensive. Traveling in the evening can be a blessing as children can sleep during the trip, which is a good thing. If there’s a need to connect flights, leave enough time to relax, play and eat before boarding the next flight.

IS A LOW-COST T R AV E L O P T I O N WORTH IT? It can be tempting to travel using a low-cost travel provider if the family is big, but this can come with various trade-offs. It might mean moving more, for starters, and the reduced fare could mean having to do without some conveniences.
