DENVER METRO YOUNG LIFE

Letter From the Metro Director Young Life

is traditionally funded by the support of parents and other concerned adults in the community that it serves. However, within financially-challenged communities, such support is not as readily available. While we have sought creative partnerships with churches, businesses and foundations, there sill exists an ongoing struggle to provide the quality ministry we are committed to. It is crucial that we find individuals to partner with us so we can thrive in communities that are financially-challenged. With this desire, we ask you to consider building a legacy of changed lives and communities with us. It is my prayer that we can be an advocate for kids in these communities, as we join in the work of watching God raise up a new generation of leaders for His kingdom.

our

goal

The Denver Urban Legacy Fund will raise $3 Million to develop healthy ministry in the present, while maintaining the funding capacity for years to come. We will allocate the invested returns on an annual basis for: • Developing new ministries in both Denver and Aurora Urban areas. • Providing affordable Young Life camping experiences for kids in disadvantaged and financially-challenged communities. • Providing funding for Young Life operating budgets in disadvantaged and financially-challenged communities.

Misson Statement Young Life

is a world-class organization for adolescents where our staff and volunteers enter the

world of kids, focusing on what matters to them—fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. We believe that every kid, every where has the right to hear about the amazing person of Jesus Christ. In the metro area, we minister to adolescents from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds that are located in communities all over the city of Denver. We do this by staying true to our core values. Radical Faith, Radical Community and Radical Ministry.

“Young Life has mastered the techniques for reaching contemporary young people with the gospel and has provided a model that is being imitated by youth workers everywhere. — Tony Campolo, Eastern College, PA

D Group

Young Life leaders invest time with kids, get involved in their activities, take a genuine interest in them, build relationships with them and model God’s love for them. Young Life leaders also encourage school attendance, promote education, help kids find jobs and assist in family emergencies.

D-Group is a small group interaction time including Bible studies, asking tough questions, discussing challenging life issues and learning what it means to grow in a relationship with Christ and as an individual. A meal is served at every D-Group.

Camp Young Life Club and WyldLife Club Clubs are weekly meetings within a local area that are open to any kid who wants to attend. Young Life clubs are for high school students, and WyldLife clubs are for jr. high students. Kids attend club each week to sing, laugh, play games and hear a leader share great news about God’s love in terms they can understand.

Young Life owns 27 premier properties nationwide for the purpose of giving kids the opportunity for the purpose of giving kids the opportunity to get away from their usual surroundings, enjoy spectacular scenery, participate in new and exciting activities and experience unconditional acceptance while coming face to face with one who created them. Camp is commonly referred to as “the best week of my life” by thousands of kids each year.
