About Fairy Godmother Foundation The foundation was formed to provide a free wedding for a deserving couple facing life altering circumstances or a terminal illness. We seek couples who have delayed their wedding because tragic circumstances redirected wedding funds to pay for medications, treatment and other costs associated with a serious illness or sustained injury. There is little to no cost for the couple. Our couple is carefully selected by a community board. You can join us in making a difference. Our first couple, Kurt Dudley and Blanca Grimes, were the recipients of the 2014 Foundation Wedding. Dudley was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2002 and had 80 percent of his stomach removed. He was declared cancer free, but in November 2013, as he and Grimes were planning their wedding, Dudley learned his cancer had returned. This time, it was Stage 4. Dudley entered an aggressive experimental study for the next several months. Unfortunately, the medication did not work and the study was cancelled. Kurt was fighter until the end, but sadly lost his battle in July 2016. Our second couple, Robert and Rachel, were married March 18, 2016. Their chance meeting in a cab (Robert was driving and picked up Rachel) led to love. Wedding plans were halted as Rachel’s son, 5 year old Isaac, was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer in 2012. While working full time, graduating from college and taking care of Isaac, Rachel didn’t have the resources to plan a wedding. With the Fairy Godmother Foundation’s help, Isaac was able to participate in Robert and Rachel’s wedding. While Isaac continues his chemo treatments, his family started the Team Isaac Facebook page to help raise thousands for the Kern County Cancer fund and show people everywhere Isaac’s enduring spirit.

Introducing our 2019 couple Jordan Adamcyk and Jordanne Barr Jordan Adamcyk and Jordanne Barr will be married on October 19, 2019. Their love story is one for the books! Jordan and Jordanne met while working at Enterprise. They became best friends and fell in love. Both attended the Route 91 concert in Las Vegas in October 2017. When the shooting began, Jordanne was shot twice, in the forearm and the back. At that moment, Jordan threw himself over Jordanne to protect her. This experience made Jordan realize that Jordanne was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. “Some days are easier than others, but I’ve decided that I won’t let what happened to me change the way I live and love my life. Jordan and I are survivors and I’ll never be able to express how grateful I am that we are both still here.” Jordanne Barr.
