Prepare for a party as the UK’s most successful touring rock ‘n’ roll production returns with a 25th anniversary show.

with Dick Pearce and Shane Hill

Hanging By A Thread

The ‘Chet Baker cool’ of Dick Pearce’s trumpet and flugelhorn and Shane Hill’s guitar combine for a relaxing Sunday jazz lunch.

A yarn knitted from old jumpers, worn, torn and reborn into characters, landscapes and a misshapen story. Cared for by her daughter, an old woman has knitted herself into her bed – a bed which has a powerful and surprising will of its own. Using puppetry, objects, performers and music, this is theatre that is both playful and hypnotic, spellbinding and absurd.

If you have a sick sense of humour maybe laughter is the best medicine. Not to be taken if you have a sensitive disposition. Recommended dose: one new show to be taken annually (I said annually). Suitable for ages 16 plus. Please note this is the same show as the October 2010 date. www.jimmycarr.com

Bringing on back the good times with a combination of the most popular feel-good comedy routines and hits from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s which have been performed in the show over the last 25 years. Guaranteed to get you on your feet and dancing before the night is over, this is one birthday party not to miss! www.thatllbetheday.com Pre-Show Offer: Special of the Day plus a dessert for £10.50. To reserve a table call 01293 438150.

Dick Pearce played for many years in Ronnie Scott’s quintet and Shane regularly plays with Maria Ewing. Enjoy the music alongside a traditional roast with a choice of meats followed by a dessert of your choice. Fish and vegetarian options available.

Tribute To The Great Big Bands

by Gilbert and Sullivan

The band return to The Hawth after their sell out success in 2010.

Ever popular Opera della Luna return with a brand new production. Their staging of Gilbert and Sullivan’s first success moves the story from its quaint Victorian setting to sleepy rural Britain in the 1970s.

One of the leading Genesis tribute bands celebrate the 1970s Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett era. Nearly three hours of scintillating musicianship and a state of the art light show featuring music from the band in their early heyday, up to Wind & Wuthering. www.losendos.co.uk Hire – A Los Endos production

John Wellington Wells, the celebrated dealer in ‘magic and spells’, spreads chaos and havoc in an unsuspecting country village when he places a powerful aphrodisiac in the village hall teapot!

Pre-Show Offer: Two course carvery or special with dessert, from 12.30pm for just £10.75, bookable in advance at the Box Office.

Opera della Luna have earned themselves a matchless reputation, and are celebrating 15 years of acclaimed productions.

With guest vocalists Jeff Hooper and Eleanor Keenan and introduced by Sheila Tracy.

Following the huge success of his Radio 4 series, TV appearances and his Out Out tour, Micky returns to the road. Drawing on his East End background, Micky ruthlessly deconstructs the cockney myth with razor sharp observational wit. He tells a comic tale of a working class upbringing, where alphabetti spaghetti is a luxury. Milestones play Kind Of Blue

Death on the Orient Express

A scintillating performance celebrating the music of Miles Davis, including a reprise of one of his landmark albums, Kind of Blue.

Thur 17 March

Caruso and the Quake Italian opera singer, Enrico Caruso was at the height of his fame when he performed Carmen at the San Francisco Opera House in April 1906. He woke-up the next morning to find his hotel room collapsing on top of him. Quake tells of Caruso’s escape through the earthquake, the fires and the army gun powdering the city. But can he shake off the ghosts from his past and the terrible choices he has to make to survive? Beautiful storytelling and live opera singing combine to reveal the heart behind a legend. Featuring live music from Puccini, Rossini, Leoncavallo, Tosti and the immortal song that Caruso introduced to the world, O Sole mio.

It’s 1935 and the Orient Express has left for Shanghai. As the train enters a tunnel, the carriage is plunged into darkness as shots and screams are heard... Unravel the clues to the murderer’s identity while you enjoy a delicious four-course meal - you could even win a bottle of sparkling wine! Guests are seated in tables of 8 - 10, so get a group of friends together or join other guests to make a team.

G*MANIA

Not What We Expected by Tim Fifield ‘I instinctively knew something was wrong when Colin ordered me to take off my apron - ‘we’re going for dinner’ he said, ‘what, on a Wednesday?’ I replied. Next thing I know I’m staring down at two garlic dough balls... I braced myself and looked him in the eye’. Meet ten characters whose lives started off in one direction only to swerve into what was most certainly ‘not what we expected’. Tim Fifield’s innovative new one man show is an uncompromising look at the way we live our lives today as seen through the eyes of nine humans and one rather disappointed dog. In a series of high octane monologues we see characters struggling with death, divorce, religion, compulsion, vegetarian children and plastic bags.

When they appeared on their first UK tour in over five years last spring, women demanded more - and now that’s just what they are going to get! A non-stop party of live music, audience interaction, dancing and fantasy that will excite your senses and leave you breathless. That’s English Touring Opera at The Hawth this Spring.

a barge in Paris, and the other is a sparkling comedy about a family inheritance in Florence. Composed by a mature master of drama and character, whose lyrical genius is epitomised in the lovely aria ‘O mio babbino caro’.

La clemenza di Tito is one of Mozart’s final works, and his most magnificent. Its epic story of terrorism, betrayal and forgiveness is set in blazing colours, requiring fearless singers. Julia Riley (our acclaimed Jane Seymour) plays the tortured hero who chooses passion for a dynamic woman (Gillian Ramm) over loyalty to a noble emperor (Mark Wilde).

Fantastic Mr Fox based on Roald Dahl’s much-loved tale is an irrepressible opera, pitting the wild animal world against three farmers and their devilish (soprano!) digger. Colourful, light hearted and highly physical, this is a perfect night at the opera for adults and young people alike.

Puccini’s two hour-long operas Il tabarro (The Cloak) and Gianni Schicchi could hardly be more different: one is a moody romance ending in a grotesque murder on

The Beast Of The Blistervilles

The legendary baritone Willard White is joined by a group of outstanding musicians incorporating the renowned Pavao Quartet. Together they pay tribute to the great Paul Robeson, along with a selection of other music, including numbers from Porgy and Bess, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jerome Kern and Duke Ellington.

The unmissable Sherlock spoof! Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson embark on the most dangerous adventure yet. Throughout history Blisterville Hall has been embroiled in dark mystical legend of a supernatural creature that haunts the nearby moors. In a race against time Holmes and Watson try and solve the mystery in this most gripping comedic thriller.
