Welcome to a brand new season Thanks to a grant from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, The Hawth is set to bring some of the best international artists and culturally diverse work to the town over the next two years as part of Going Global. The funding allows us to build on previous work in programming quality theatre, dance, music and visual arts from around the world as well as presenting work for developing communities in the town and helping to create new work. Box Office Opening Times Please note for a trial period, and to reflect changing demand from customers, from Monday 3 January the Box Office will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am – 8.15pm when there is an evening performance but will otherwise close at 6pm. When there is a performance on a Sunday the Box Office will open an hour earlier for the sale of tickets to that performance. The Box Office will be open for telephone bookings from Monday to Saturday, 10am – 6pm.

The Hawth ArtsCafé Combine your theatre visit with a meal, or meet up with friends over coffee at The Hawth’s ArtsCafé. With its warm and inviting atmosphere and friendly service, the ArtsCafé offers a wide selection of fresh salads and light bites, home made cakes and pastries. If you fancy something a bit more substantial choose from freshly filled breads and jackets, Mediterranean dishes, burgers and grills. We also have daily chef’s specials and a children’s menu. ArtsCafé is open Monday – Friday from 11am for breakfast, coffee, tea, soft drinks and cakes and then from 12pm – 2pm for our full lunch menu. The ArtsCafé and bar are also open evenings and weekends prior to all shows. Pre-show meals can be purchased up to two hours prior to most performances until 30 minutes before a show. Marche Slave Piano Concerto No.1 Symphony No.5 Conductor Nicolae Moldoveanu Piano Natasha Paremski The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra continues its tribute to the Great Composers in a concert featuring three of Tchaikovsky’s most popular scores. The fiery Marche Slave provides a stirring introduction to the immortal First Piano Concerto, arguably the best-known of all Romantic piano concertos, with its soaring opening melody supported by massive piano chords. Born and raised in Paris, MarieChristine has frequently moved home with visits to England, South Africa and the Netherlands and has lived in Crawley since 2000. Greatly influenced by the strong light and bright colours of life in South Africa. The key to her paintings is the interaction of colour and shape.

Art In Motion An open art competition running each year until 2012. Winners’ artworks will contribute to a new permanent art exhibition at K2, celebrating sport and physical activity in Crawley. The image can be anything sporting which took place in Crawley, in the year preceding the submission date - from organised events to skateboarding or a kickabout in the park. Amateur and professional artists of all ages are invited to submit works - photography, drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, computer-aided design, collage or montage. An open workshop for mixed ability beginners to intermediate (including deaf, disabled and non-disabled) with former CandoCo dancer Chisato Minamimura who performs as part of Stepping Out East on 3 February.

Introduction to Argentine Tango
A class for beginners with a strong interest in dance led by two experienced teachers. You’ll need to be physically fit to fully take part although challenging, the main aim is to have fun!
You’ve seen it on Strictly, now it’s your turn! A three hour fun workshop introducing the basics of tango. There’s no need to bring a partner but if you are booking alone please book early. Couples are rotated so you’ll get to meet and dance with lots of new people.
Focusing on breathing, posture and fluid movement, the class will feature a simple warm up, travelling work, learning a technical phrase, improvisation and a brief choreography exercise. Please wear loose clothing, bring a warm jumper and water. Tickets: £5
