BBC MUSIC BBC Music is proud to support British music across our television, radio and digital services. We are very excited to base ourselves at the British Music Embassy for 4 nights, broadcasting 24 acts across BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6Music and our network of 36 BBC Music Introducing shows across the UK. Our new music initiative BBC Music Introducing launched in 2007 and leads the way in supporting the best emerging talent across the UK. With over 650,000 tracks (over half a million) uploaded to BBC Music Introducing and upwards of 233,000 artists registered, BBC Music Introducing provides a network dedicated to supporting new UK talent locally and nationally across BBC radio, television and online. Introducing also offers the chance to perform at major festivals and showcases in the UK and internationally. Big name artists including Florence + the Machine, Slaves, Little Simz, James Bay and Catfi sh and The Bottlemen all received BBC Music Introducing support at the start of their careers. BPI BPI is the Trade Association for Record Labels in the UK which represents over 400 independent labels and the UK’s three major labels, which account for 90% of music released in the UK. BPI promotes British music overseas through its various Trade missions and the Music Export Growth Scheme. It provides insights, training and networking with its free member training, Innovation Hub, Insight Sessions, and reports. The BPI administers the Certifi ed Awards, co-owns the Offi cial Charts, organises The BRIT Awards and is also home to the Mercury Prize. BRITISH UNDERGROUND Celebrating 19 years helping musicians and music-makers navigate and succeed at international music showcases. Since our fi rst UK showcase at SXSW in 2002 (featuring Elbow and Oxide and Neutrino) we have learnt a huge amount about the international showcasing landscape and have worked with some amazing world-class talent. We mainly focus on music outside the mainstream - from folk and hip-hop to metal and beyond - and produced an amazing grime showcase for Team GB at the Rio Olympics. We are funded by Arts Council England and other public agencies and our offi ces are in the Musicians’ Union in Oval, London. We offer help with travel and accommodation for musicians through our relationship with the PRSF International Showcase Fund and provide artist development tools including exploreinternational.co.uk. We also host a touring cultural exchange between the UK and Brazil called Bass Culture Clash and create playlists and videos and produce new music radio shows for British Airways in-fl ight entertainment system. britishunderground.net

PPL PPL is the UK’s music licensing company for over 110,000 performers and record companies, working to make sure they are paid when their recorded music is played in public and used on TV or radio. We represent independent and major labels, together with performers ranging from emerging artists to festival headliners. We have collected over £3 billion since we were formed in 1934. We also collect for these performance rights internationally when our members’ music is played around the world.
