Every Client Has A Problem. Do You Know What It Is?
Massachusetts Branch Approach to the Curiosity Wall
by Sharon Murphy
We started 2023 using Finding Underserved Needs as our theme/challenge. Along with the theme, we created our FUN wall and challenging the branch to ask questions and identify customer problems. We used our curiosity cards to post "problems" and we created a FUN committee which meets regularly to review the content with an eye on discovering an experimental idea.
In addition, the team members send along a challenge (example below) where we share something we have heard and challenge others to do the same. Currently we have a challenge where we will have an ice cream social when we receive 5 new customer problems.
We are excited to gain momentum and to uncover a problem we may move to experimentation!
Note from a team member in MA to the MA o ce:
What fun way can your o ce approach the Curiosity Wall?
Don't forget to brainstorm new ways that you and your coworkers can get inspired and come up with new ideas to help your department, your branch or Acadia as a whole.

Only experiments captured in SPARK! can be counted toward our goal of creating and measuring at least 100 experiments to generate $100 million in cost savings or revenue generation.
Check out https://berkleycloud.sharepoint.com/SitePages/100for100_welcometosite.aspx for the progress to meet this goal and stories shared by companies regarding their experiments.
We are continuing to highlight Acadia team members that are (the most) actively engaged in SPARK! The next active SPARK! user is Tom Hambrick, Senior Legislative and Regulatory Analyst. WeaskedTom:
Why is it important to you to be actively engaged in Acadia’s Innovation efforts?
"Innovation is so crucial -- it drives growth, enhances competitiveness and ensures relevance in what is a rapidly evolving marketplace. That is why I seek out opportunities to participate in the company's innovation initiatives, whether as a Spark moderator or through innovation experiments. They are ways I learn about the company and industry, collaborate across departments, and develop new skills. If I can help our teams address some of the company's more complex challenges or seize new opportunities, ultimately building a foundation for long-term success, that's motivating."
