Some Goals I have for our division is: • Expanding our Shark Population- Currently, we have an estimate of 320 members and what I’m hoping for us to achieve by the end of the year is 400 members • Communication- It seems that Gig Harbor is a far distance to Tacoma which makes it difficult for two schools in Gig Harbor to attend our DCM and be more involved with our division. Starting in July I’m hoping to be able to hold two DCMs in both cities. It helps them stay connected and have the human interaction that’s hard to achieve over social media. • Fundraising & Volunteering Opportunities- I want to offer more volunteering opportunities to our divison to help our Sharks bond together while also raising money for our Division and our District Project!

Over at GHHS we participated in several events: Great Strides Walk for MS, Street Scramble Stomp Rockets, Shoes for C.H.E.W Dog Rescue, and the Maritime Gig Festival. Great Strides is a walk that brings attention to Multiple Scoliosis and helps find a cure. We helped out by giving out water to runners and checking in participants. At Gig Harbor Street Scramble, we helped kids young and old alike build stomp rockets and got out the word about Key Club with this fun and interactive avenue. We also hosted a successful fundraiser for C.H.E.W Dog Rescue that involved collecting shoes that would be donated to third world countries in return, money would be given to C.H.E.W Dog Rescue to help save dogs! The Maritime Gig Festival is a festival held annually. On Saturday, we helped out by marshaling the parade and keeping kids safe by not wandering into parade traffic. On the Sunday, we ran a bouncy house and helped clean-up garbage from all the food vendors. To end the school year strong, we had a picnic in the park with yummy Mexican food and good company from alumni of GHHS Key Club. We are all super excited for the summer and the upcoming year for all of the new volunteer opportunities it brings!
The Wilson High School Key Club has been continuing to find opportunities erve in their community. One of the most prominent places we work at is the a Rescue Mission where we are able to prepare and serve food to women and n who are homeless. It is a very fun experience to work closely to provide food e who need it and immediately seeing how grateful they are while hanging out h Key Club friends. This club has also been able to volunteer at a couple of alks around Tacoma. The Tacoma Marathon was an event where we were able ide the runners and cheer them on as they continued on their very long race. g this event raised $300 for the Wilson Key Club that will go towards future events sending member to DCON. Another run we participated in was the March for s which is officiated with the March of Dimes. Even though it was rainy and wet, any of our members enjoyed cheering on and handing out merchandise to support a great cause. We look forward to continuing to work at the Rescue ission along with finding other great ways to serve our community this summer! Go Sharks!
