Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Office of Global Health offers students the opportunity to deliver clinical care or conduct research under the supervision of OU-COM faculty, in the context of a foreign culture. Each year, an average of 150 students, physicians and allied health professionals participate in these programs, and the numbers are growing.
FACILITATING GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES “ There are many situations in Kenya that will frustrate you or break your heart, but it’s amazing how much people appreciate the little things you do for them. I always learn something new about myself … . It’s neat to watch students go through the same process.”
Gillian Ice, PhD, MPH Director of Global Health Founder of the Kenyan Grandparents Study Associate Professor of Social Medicine
