PARK PROPERTIES

WILLIAMS PARK 940 S. Locust Lane

Williams Parks’ 77 acres is home to Blast Off Playground, a spaceship-themed wooden play structure, and the Watermill splash pad. Maple Ridge Trail is a .79-mile crushed stone nature trail in the wooded area along White Lick Creek. Other amentities include six shelters, a second playground, basketball courts, and a paved .78-mile oval track.

ARBUCKLE ACRES PARK 200 N. Green Street

Arbuckle Acres Park is the oldest park in Brownsburg. It boasts beautiful mature shade trees on its 68 acres. Amenities include baseball fields, lighted basketball and tennis courts, 1.3 miles of trails, seven shelters, and a playground shielded with a canopy of trees. This park is also the home to Brownsburg Lions Club’s Bundy Lodge.

PARK HOURS

Stephens Park is a four-acre neighborhood park that has one picnic shelter and a playground. Future amenities include pickleball courts and an expanded play area.

This property is in the process of being developed. Brownsburg’s newest park will include a shelter, playground, dog park and parking and a trailhead to the B&O Trail just south of the property.

SHELTER S

PRICING POLICY

The Brownsburg Park Board has established cost recovery goals through the strategic business plan that staff are responsible for implementing. Brownsburg Parks’ programs are priced at market value. Brownsburg residents receive a discounted rate for most programs since they contribute to the overall maintenance and operations of the park system through property taxes. Those who live outside of the corporate town limits pay the regular fee. Brownsburg Parks approaches the fees for all of the services we provide with careful consideration and research before determining any necessary fee changes, taking into account market value for the services.

*All shelters that are not previously reserved with Brownsburg Parks’ Adminstrative Office are on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is no “Reserved” sign outside of the shelter, it is free to anyone for that day. *All rentals are for one day only. The shelter reservation is from 5:00 a.m., when the park opens, until the park closes at dusk.

SPECIAL EVENT POLICY

Brownsburg Parks welcomes the use of our facilties and shelters for many types of occassions. If you are planning to reserve a shelter or facility for an especially large group, want to host a sports clinic/ tournament/corporate gathering, or plan to have inflatables, please fill out the special events application, which can be found at: www.brownsburg.org > Community Links > Events on Town Property.

FACILITY REFUND POLICY

In order to receive a full refund for a shelter reservation, customers must request a refund at least 60 days prior to the reservation date. Refund requests made 30-59 days prior to the reservation date will receive a 50% refund. All refund requests made less than 30 days prior to the reservation date will be denied a refund, but customers may reschedule their reservation for a later date up to one year from original date reserved. In the event of severe weather resulting in park/amenity closures, Brownsburg Parks has sole discretion to determine if you may be eligible for a household credit allowing the registrant to reserve a new date up to one year from the orginal date reserved.

MORNING STRETCH

Eaton Hall

Better flexibility may improve your performance in physical activities and increase circulation to your muscles. During this class, you will enjoy soft, gentle music, a slow warm-up with a range of motion movements to increase flexibility, followed by a complete stretching routine. This class is recommended for any age and fitness level. Join us and see how great you can feel with a little stretching! Do you want to improve your balance and strength? Find a relaxed state? Then yoga is for you! In Yoga/ Stretch, a stable chair is offered for comfort and reassurance. This is a Silver Sneakers qualifying class. Hatha Yoga is the traditional mat style and offers a bit more of a challenge. Participants are asked to bring their own mats or can use one of ours. Tone your body, strengthen your muscles and heart, and improve your flexibility while enjoying your favorite “oldies” tunes! The first 30 minutes of the class consists of moves to increase your heart rate; the last 15 minutes will be for toning and stretching. Mats are required for the floor work segment of this class. Brownsburg Parks & Facilities

Swim, bike and run your way to complete your own Ironman race! Participants will have the month of October to complete 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking, and 26.2 miles of running. The first participants to complete the run, bike and swim will receive gold medals, all other participants will receive various prizes! October 1 - 31 Registration: August 7 - October 4 $20 per person

BALLROOM SOCIAL DANCING

Social dancing made easy! Whether new to dance or a seasoned pro, this six-class session is for you! The class is taught by professional dance instructors Scott and Yulia Shook. Thursdays, September 7 - October 19 & October 26 - December 14 Beginner: 6:45 - 7:30 p.m. | Intermediate: 7:45 - 8:30 p.m. $95 per couple Participants may enroll in classes online or by visiting the Parks Office. Key fob will be given at first visit. Key fob may be used for any class except Ballroom Social Dancing and Ironman. Classes will not meet December 18 - January 2.

WILDLIFE EXPLORERS

Williams Park, Alpha Shelter

This fun, hands-on nature discovery program of the National Recreation and Park Association connects children to nature by encouraging exploration of and increasing kids’ comfort with the great outdoors. Using their Wildlife Explorers Workbook, children will log the animal habitats they find, note the sounds they hear in the park, and much more! September 13 – October 18 Wednesdays | 5:30-6:30 p.m. Ages: 5-10 Cost: $15

ALL ABOUT BIRDS!

Eaton Hall

This fun STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program engages children in learning about birds through hands-on, take-home projects, including creating hummingbird feeders and bird call kits. Kids will learn about all kinds of birds – including birds of prey! October 25 – November 15 Wednesdays | 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Ages: 5-10 Cost: $20

WINTER ANIMALS HIKE

Williams Park Outdoor Classroom/Maple Ridge Trail

The animals along Maple Ridge Trail are preparing for winter. How do animals survive Brownsburg’s winter conditions? How do frogs freeze solid and still survive? Walk the trails with a Hendricks County Park Naturalist to look for animal homes and other signs that the animals are ready for colder weather. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Registration is not required. November 11 Saturday | 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Ages: All ages Cost: Free

PICNIC FOR ANTS!

Williams Park, Shelter #2

Search for ant hills and other evidence of ant activity with a Hendricks County Park Naturalist while setting out a picnic for ants! Which foods do ants like best? What do the ants do with the food? After observing the ants, make an ant craft to take home. Registration is not required. September 2 Saturday | 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Ages: All ages Cost: Free

Williams Park

Jump Start Sports facilitates this fun introduction to baseball for 3- to 4-year-olds. Players learn the basics of throwing, catching, fielding, batting and base running. Children then apply what they have learned in fun, non-competitive games. All players will receive a team shirt and an authentic MLB cap! Parents are encouraged to participate in the program. HUMMINGBIRDS SOCCER

Williams Park

Hummingbirds Soccer is a creative, ageappropriate and highly instructional program facilitated by Jump Start Sports. All soccer skill instruction is conducted by trained staff and situational game play is used to teach game concepts in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. EXTENDED BREAKS AT CARDINAL ELEMENTARY

B.A.S.E. Extended Breaks provide children with the active experiences they need during scheduled school breaks. B.A.S.E. Team Members provide a variety of physical and educational enrichement activities daily, including field trips!

Here is what you need to know about Extended Breaks: Extended Breaks require a separate registration from the regular B.A.S.E. program. Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. B.A.S.E. passes (including the 20-visit pass) do not transfer to Extended Breaks. Scholarships are not available for Extended Breaks. * B.A.S.E. Extended Breaks operate under the latchkey service ratio of 1 staff member to 15 children. (Space is limited.)
