WOMEN IN BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

BUSINESS CARES CHARITABLE GIFT PROGRAM

The Women in Business Committee’s purpose is to support the role of women in the workforce and foster their business growth through networking opportunities and seminars designed specifically for women. The committee awards an annual scholarship to women needing further education to re-enter the job market or shift career direction.

Business Cares is designed to enrich the lives of those in need. The program’s goal is to provide some of the comforts that most people take for granted such as fuel for heating, food, transportation, child care, shelter, medical attention, holiday gifts for children of the poor and single parents, and/or services that improve mental health. Business Cares is a 501C3 Foundation.

2022 contributions were given to: Bucks For Kids • Coalition to Shelter and Support the Homeless • The Fiara Project Inc. • The R.J. Leonard Foundation • Meals on Wheels of Bucks County • Rolling Harvest Food Resue

THE RECENT TREND IN EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

The latest trend in employee benefits is a shift towards more personalized and flexible offerings that cater to the needs and preferences of individual employees. This trend is being driven by several factors, including the growing importance of work-life balance, the rise of the gig economy, and changing demographics in the workforce. One example of this trend is the increasing popularity of “cafeteria-style” benefits plans, which allow employees to choose

from a menu of options to create a personalized benefits package. This can include options such as health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs, as well as more unconventional benefits such as pet insurance or paid time off for volunteering. Another trend is the focus on mental health and well-being. Many companies are recognizing the importance of supporting employees’ mental health and are offering benefits such as access to counseling services, mindfulness and meditation programs, and flexible work arrangements.

Finally, companies are also recognizing the importance of financial wellness and are offering benefits such as student loan

repayment assistance, financial planning services, and access to low-interest loans. Overall, the latest trend in employee benefits is a move towards more personalized, flexible, and holistic offerings that reflect the changing needs and priorities of today’s workforce.

The Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce offers its members access to My Benefit Advisor as a solution for employee benefits, including voluntary offerings. For more information about My Benefit Advisor, visit our website at cbcc.mybenefitadvisor.com or contact Christopher Sloane at (610) 684-6933.

If a tree falls in the woods,

and it topples over into another tree that displaces a large group of highly territorial raccoons that run amok in a local campground, which causes a family to pack up and leave in the middle of the night, and while driving home in a rush, one of the hubcaps on their station wagon comes loose and rolls down the street, which then hits a large rock on a cliff, dislodging it, causing it to tumble down a hill, where it smacks into a utility pole that tips over and knocks into the flagpole in front of your business that crashes onto your roof and creates a hole that acts like a funnel for rainwater to spill into your building, which results in water damage,
