The MARCH issue 2024 3

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF BOOSTING

COVERAGE IN EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of employee health and well-being in the workplace. While physical health has traditionally been the focus of employee health insurance, mental health has emerged as an equally vital aspect of overall well-being. In this article, we will discuss the relevance of mental health coverage in employee health insurance, highlighting its significance for employees and employers alike.

Mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and stress-related disorders, have become increasingly common in the workplace. According to a study in the World Health Organization (WHO), depression and anxiety alone cost the global economy an estimated $1 trillion per year in lost productivity. This statistic serves to bolster the need for employers to assure adequate mental health coverage is in their employee health insurance plans.

Providing mental health coverage as part of employee health insurance can significantly enhance the overall wellbeing of employees. Mental health issues can affect an individual’s ability to function optimally in the workplace, eading to decreased productivity, increased absenteeism, and higher turnover rates. By offering comprehensive mental health coverage, employers can help address these challenges and promote a healthier and more engaged workforce.

One of the barriers to seeking mental health treatment is the persistent stigma associated with mental illness. Including mental health coverage in employee health insurance plans can help reduce this stigma by normalizing the discussion around mental health and encouraging employees to seek the care they need. Additionally, by providing coverage, employers can ensure that employees have access to a range of mental health services, including therapy, counseling, and psychiatric consultations.

Investing in mental health coverage can yield significant returns for employers. Employees who have access to mental health support through their health insurance tend to be more productive, have higher job satisfaction, and are less likely to take sick leave. By addressing mental health concerns proactively, employers can create a positive work environment that fosters employee well-being and enhances overall productivity and performance.

Although the inclusion of mental health coverage in employee health insurance plans may require an initial investment, it can prove cost-effective in the long run. By addressing mental health issues early on, employers can prevent more severe

problems from developing and minimize the associated costs, such as absenteeism, reduced productivity, and increased healthcare utilization. Furthermore, healthier and happier employees are more likely to remain with the organization, reducing turnover and the expenses associated with recruitment and training.

HELPING LOCAL BUSINESSES GROW FOR OVER 25 YEARS.

Founded by Greg Cawood and Bob Campbell, two Doylestown residents driven by a passion to assist local business owners in realizing their growth aspirations, IQnection has remained steadfast in its commitment to solving clients’ marketing challenges. The core belief that a stunning website is only valuable if it attracts targeted traffic has been a guiding principle. As they often say, “Good marketing tells a story. Great marketing delivers results.”

Darianna® Bridal & Tuxedo and Doylestown Gold Exchange stand as testaments to IQnection’s dedication. Both are family-run businesses that have experienced remarkable success since partnering with IQnection 8 and 10 years ago, respectively. By crafting visually appealing websites that enhance brand visibility and implementing strategic web marketing campaigns, these businesses have seen significant growth. This growth has been further fueled by subsequent website updates and additional marketing services, aligning

perfectly with the vision of IQnection’s founders.

Adapting to the evolving internet landscape, IQnection’s team of web developers and highly skilled marketers offer a range of services, including website design, search engine optimization, social media campaigns, Google Ads management, video production, and copywriting.

IQnection’s success is fueled by their exceptional team, who work in partnership with their clients to deliver outstanding results. As Franco Salerno of Darianna Bridal put it, “they are interactive, knowledgeable, responsive, and truly interested in our content. We appreciate having them.”

In addition to local retailers, IQnection collaborates with contractors, nonprofits, technology firms, healthcare providers, manufacturers, and other enterprises. As

they continue to uphold their commitment to supporting local businesses, they invite you to reach out to discuss how they can contribute to your future growth and innovation. Don’t forget to inquire about their unique Market Maximizer process.
