Cruzcampo's Honor Day is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 6, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 06, 1992.
Cruzcampo Pavilion. The national leader of the beer sector dressed up at the Expo to mark the celebration of the Day of Honor. The president of the Cruzcampo group , Robert Hermans , and the president of Guinness , Anthony Tenannt , presided over that day the ceremonial and folkloric acts organized for this day. Thousands of visitors entered the largest brewery in Spain every day in order to feel the pleasure of sipping sixty centiliters of freshly brewed beer, which allowed them to face the Expo site again.
Entrance plate to the Cruzcampo Pavilion. The Cruzcampo pavilion had consumed more than two hundred thousand liters of beer in less than two months since the Expo began, made in the mini factory located in the basement of the building.
Cruzcampo. The visitor could contemplate in this pavilion, which leaves the general typology, the museum that housed curiosities related to beer, and the factory where the miracle of turning simple ingredients such as barley, water, hops and yeast into one of the natural and refreshing drinks that have existed for six thousand years.
Cruzcampo Pavilion - Visit of the Tunos. The Cruzcampo pavilion had a privileged location, next to the lake (entering through Barqueta Gate) and at the crossroads between the pavilions of Andalucía and Retevisión. The perspective of the building on the lake led to its architect, Miguel Oriol e Ybarra, author of the pavilion of the Holy See, to install two towers or vertices of thirty-six meters in height, whose steel cables hold and collect the roof in form of pavilion hemicycle.
Cruzcampo poster in the Expo 92 site. The roof was designed in saw teeth of minimum height and open to the north so that visitors could enjoy the landscape that was visible behind the glass wall of thirty meters in length.
Performance on the stage of the Cruzcampo Pavilion. The famous and unmistakable << Gambrinus >> presides over this pavilion from the top, throwing a toast and an invitation to all the visitors of the Exhibition to come to taste the ve thousand liters of beer that were made daily in the factory of the pavilion.
Gambrinus at the top of the pavilion. Visitors who entered the only pavilion of a company based in Seville, the rst thing they did was to ask for a 60-cl beer mug, which, for 300 pesetas, would smile back. Among the attractions of the pavilion was the Museum on the rst oor, and in the basement the Factory, which explained step by step the elaboration of the << loving blonde », praised by Camilo José Cela in his << Loa of the noble art to drink beer >>.
On the ground oor of the pavilion was the bar, where a long counter allowed a large number of occupants to dedicate themselves to one of the Andalusians' greatest hobbies: the copeo and the tapa. This space had a rectangular shape with a large window, from where at night the spectacle of the Lake was seen. A team of three hundred people, uniformed in the red and white colors of the Cruzcampo, attended both the bar and the lounge in the form of an amphitheater, in three shifts of one hundred employees each.
Interior pavilion of Cruzcampo. The president of the Guinness brewing group, Anthony Tennant, highlighted that day during the day of honor of the brewer, who had faith in this city and its future. He also praised the Spanish Government for its courage and imagination and how to organize the Universal Exhibition.

The National Day of Kuwait is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 19, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 19, 1992.
Kuwait Pavilion. Kuwait celebrated that day its national day in the company of the Minister of Information, Bader Al-Yaqoub, and the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, Ebrahim Al-Shahin. For the event, the Government of Kuwait offered to the Spanish authorities a statue, called << Kuwait, thanks to the world >>, which for the rst time was exhibited to the public at the Expo 92 site. Guarded by major security measures, the Kuwaiti Arab Emirate celebrated its National Day at the Expo with the inauguration of the monument that this participant bequeathed to Seville. It was a clear reference to the assistance provided by the international community as a result of the invasion of Iraq.
Kuwaiti ag. The Kuwait pavilion bore the slogan << The Kuwaitis are traders and explorers >>, they made the world see that before devoting themselves to oil, they were engaged in other trades.
Kuwait Pavilion. The pavilion during Expo 92 had a mobile structure and had been designed by Santiago Calatrava, who designed the longest bridge in Seville, the Alamillo, which was considered one of the most signi cant monuments of the city of Seville.
Logo Pavilion of Kuwait. The upper part of the pavilion simulated 19 leaves of mobile palms, made of wood. If the building was observed from a distance, several interpretations could be made of it, and all this was due to its mobile structure. When it was closed, it simulated the shell of an oyster that keeps a pearl inside, symbol of one of the main sources of wealth of Kuwait.
Shape of Palm trees of Kuwait in the structure of the pavilion. If we observed its mobile structure in an intermediate position, the building looked like a great " Jaima" , a large tent that gives shelter to the Bedouins in the desert and when it was completely open, it was similar to the sail of a ship. All these symbols were part of the life of Kuwait. In addition, the leaves of palm tree could take other 15 positions that were to the free interpretation of the visitor.
Views from 5th Avenue of the Kuwait Pavilion. The upper oor is made of transparent marble, able to let in light, both day and night. It was equipped with two openings, one crossed the Kuwaiti ag and the other was a large screen to project slides in the night show.
Kuwait in Expo 92. The pavilion was surrounded by water, which cooled the building and, in turn, contributed to its embellishment. The interior part of the Kuwait pavilion had an elevator to facilitate entry and travel for people with disabilities. The interior encompassed a large exhibition hall and all of this, building and exhibition, showed the history of a town through its art.
Interior view Kuwait Pavilion. The Kuwait pavilion, located on Avenida Uno, exhibited, among its contents, an extensive organization chart that re ected the numerous Kuwaiti oil investments made in the world and historical pieces from the Bronze Age, Islamic and Hellenistic. In addition, it was possible to contemplate typical utensils of the daily life of the country, such as carpets and teapots, others for female use, wood sculptures that evoked fertility and nine boats that re ected the old shing tradition as the main source of income in the past. , an audiovisual of nine screens projected, continuously, images of the country.

Extremadura's Day of Honor is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 14, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 14, 1992.
Extremadura Pavilion. The Extremadura pavilion was characterized by the large granite cliff that dominated the entrance and its transparent oors, which amused the youngest. The ground oor was presided over by the goddess Ceres, who kept watch over the << Custody of Azuaga >>, the << Treasure of Aliseda >> and multiple pieces belonging to the Copper Age until the 16th century.
Logo Pabellรณn de Extremadura. The pavilion of Extremadura was elevated next to those of Navarre and the Balearic Islands, in the zone destined to the Autonomous Communities. The entrance door to the pavilion was a granite cliff of twenty- ve meters high, torn in the center in the shape of an inverted V, which gave the visitor the feeling of entering through a gorge. The building consisted basically of a transparent glass and polyester cube, which housed in its interior a sphere of oak wood, fteen meters in diameter, that cut the glass oor.
Flag of Extremadura. Once inside the pavilion, the rst thing that attracted the visitor's attention was the clarity and transparency provided by the glass structure, as well as the light and the great acoustic resonance that the building materials caused in the interior. The route began on the ground oor of the pavilion, after the stewardess in charge of the information desk gave two copies of newspapers from Extremadura, so they would know the current status of this community.
Detail portico pavilion of Extremadura. The visitors observed the rst showcases dedicated to the meeting of cultures that had been shaping the being of Extremadura, from the Bronze Age to the sixteenth century. The visitor could also see a showcase with pieces of gold and silver, which were part of the treasures of the Age of metals. The Visigothic period was represented by a " Cancel" of white marble carved with clusters and vine leaves. The Islamic culture was present in the pavilion through a stele of Sapur, which served to bury the rst Independent King of the taifas kingdom of Badajoz.
Extremadura in Expo 92. The oak dome that dominated the center of the pavilion, splitting the oor of the rst oor in two, hosted a nine-minute audiovisual showing the history of Extremadura. This room had a capacity of one hundred and twenty-nine people and was also used as a conference room. The ceremony that opened the Day of Honor of Extremadura that day, was in charge of the television presenter Isabel Gemio, who made the introduction to each of the participants. On behalf of the State Society, Commissioner General Emilio Cassinello thanked Extremadura President Juan Carlos RodrĂguez Ibarra for the participation of a region that had ceased to be extreme and hard in Spain, to demonstrate in the framework of Expo 92 that it is a real and living land that could afford all the hopes for the future. The Day of Honor of Navarre is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 13, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 13, 1992.
Pavilion of Navarre in Expo 92. Members of the Government and Parliament of Navarra, and a truck with the << Gigantes y Cabezudos >> of Pamplona traveled that day to the Isla de la Cartuja in Seville to celebrate the Day of Honor of the Autonomous Community of Navarra at the Expo 92 The president of the Government of Navarre, Juan Cruz Alli, presided over the set of cultural and folkloric ceremonial acts that were celebrated to commemorate the presence of Navarra in the Universal Exposition of Seville.
Flag of Navarre. The pavilion of Navarra was distinguished by its architecture very much in keeping with the community it represents: a structure in the form of a farmhouse, as a container of simple volume, easily removable, without boasting or ostentation. The building was erected in a rectangle of 40 by 21 meters, on which were spread opaque sheets of solar protection that cushioned the heating of the roof and the sensation of freshness inside.
Logo Pabellón de Navarra. Navarra was located next to the pavilions of the Canary Islands and Extremadura, in the area dedicated to the autonomous communities. Wood and marble dominated the interior of the pavilion, together with some contents that required the strict follow-up of the instructions of the hostesses.
Forest of fteen trunks of beech trees in the Pabellón de Navarra. The rst thing that attracted the visitor's attention was the forest of fteen trunks of beech trees, whose shade and beauty represented the fteen million beech trees that live in thirty thousand hectares of beech forests in Navarra. On the ceiling, the light that penetrated is sifted through a great photographic transparency of the vault of a beech in spring. Among the trunks of these beech trees was a stream, whose seventy liters per second of water ran between the stones and mosses brought especially from Navarre. The route began on the right side of the ground oor, where the pavilion shop was located, which contained books and publications of the Savings Bank of the University and Diputación de Navarra. This tour continued through small rooms adjacent to the store, where inside were exhibitions of sculptures by Jorge Oteiza and another of photographs by Rafael Moneo.
Entry navarro pavilion. One of the attractions of the pavilion was the corner where the route continued, symbolizing the well-known Estafeta street with its bulls and the famous runners who, aided by rolling newspapers, directed the bulls. The visitors had fun taking pictures in front of these brave animals as if they were real professionals. After the experience of the Sanfermines, the visitor was accompanied by a stewardess to the theater of the pavilion to see the lm in three dimensions: << Navarra, in relief >>.
Two young people are photographed next to a representative mural of the con nements of San Fermín de Pamplona, in the pavilion of Navarra of the Universal Exhibition of Seville. (Photography EFE).
Then the visitor is invited to descend the stairs to access the ground oor of the pavilion where he could contemplate the hologram << Navarre, history and way >>. Before leaving the pavilion of Navarra, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the wines of Navarra, whose Regulatory Council of Denomination of Origin had the mission of promoting its quality, as well as offering typical products of the land, such as asparagus, peppers piquillo Etc.
Workers of the Pabellón de Navarra. Already at the Palenque on that day of honor in Navarra at Expo 92, the president of this community, Juan Cruz Alli, stressed that they wanted to project before Spain and the whole world the identity, historical, political, cultural and human, as well as the identity of region, highlighting that the challenge of Expo 92 had required a great effort to collect the reality of a country that struggles to place itself in the world and in Europe in the role that corresponds to it.
The Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón, newspaper in hand, before a set that represents a typical scene of the San Fermin estas that is exhibited in the Pabellón de Navarra. (Photography EFE). The commissar of the Universal Exhibition, Emilio Cassinello, made reference to the successes of the famous Navarrese cyclist Miguel Induráin, << The vision of the Navarrese pavilion led us to remember Caro Baroja, with her anthropological view of life, to Oteiza with her sculpture or the architecture of Rafael Moneo >>. save

The Day of Honor of the Community of Madrid is celebrated in Expo 92. Posted on June 28, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 28, 1992.
Pavilion of the Community of Madrid. The Community of Madrid dressed up to celebrate its Day of Honor at Expo 92. To commemorate it, the president of the Community of Madrid, Joaquín Leguina, and the mayor, José María Álvarez del Manzano, had moved to Seville. The pavilion of the community of Madrid, in the form of a cube, gave the feeling of being un nished if it was observed externally. The aim of the architects José Luis Solans, Pilar Briales and Ricardo del Amo was to offer a simple and clear image on the outside: without external borders, doors and windows. And an interior that was becoming increasingly complex.
Flag of the Community of Madrid. The pavilion had six oors, each with the name of one of the stars of the constellation of the Little Bear that make up the ag of the Community of Madrid. The visitors, from twenty to twenty, accessed from one oor to another through conventional stairs and escalators. Disabled and elderly people had elevators. From the ground oor one went directly to the second oor, where the rst exhibition space was, dedicated to the festivities of two Madrid locations: Pedrezuela and Colmenar Viejo.
Entrance pavilion of the Community of Madrid. As a link between the second and third oors, a compilation of Madrid newspapers was shown under the name of << Community History >>. The publications room, located on the third oor, offered ve bibliographical works produced to celebrate the Expo: a catalog of the pavilion containing 2,800 photographs of Madrid, << Los toros de Madrid >>, << The music of Madrid >>, << The artists of Madrid >> and << Madrid, active region >>. In it, a computer had been installed for all visitors who wanted to learn about a particular issue of the capital of Spain. Images of the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, the Stock Exchange of Madrid, the Library of the Royal Monastery El Escorial, the Velázquez Gate of the Prado Museum, the Royal Palace seen from the Campo del Moro and the main dining room of the Palace Hotel, invited visitors to know Madrid. In this area located on the fourth oor, the public could know the tourism potential of the Community of Madrid. The tour continued through the craft exhibition, where three pieces that combined traditional elements with the avant-garde of design were shown.
Interior pavilion of the Community of Madrid. Before leaving this plant had to make a stop by the projection room of the pavilion of the Community of Madrid. With a maximum capacity for one hundred people, it showed a videographic work, about fteen minutes long, in which urban images of Madrid were collected, the most signi cant architecture of the municipalities of the community and images of the people of Madrid. A microscope from the laboratory of Santiago Ramón y Cajal was the centerpiece of the exhibition of the fth oor of the pavilion, dedicated to Madrid and research, which also showed images of Federico García Lorca, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Antonio Machado, Luis Buñuel , among others.
Interior pavilion of the Community of Madrid. Before nishing the tour of this pavilion of the Expo, you could not miss your visit to the restaurant called << Taberna del Alabardero >>. One of the keys to its success was its strategic location, more speci cally that of its terrace, with a capacity for seventy- ve people, from which the spectacle of the Lake was contemplated in a privileged way.

The Day of Honor of the Holy See is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 29, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 29, 1992.
Pavilion of the Holy See. The building of the Pavilion of the Holy See was formed by a metallic structure with a coating of opaque glass. Steel and glass were the materials used for the construction of this pavilion formed by a geometric complex of vaults, reminiscent of ecclesial forms. The building had been designed by the architect Miguel Oriol. The presence of the Catholic Church in the Expo was born with the desire assumed by the Spanish Episcopal Conference to remember and document the work of evangelization and human promotion of the spiritual, social and cultural development of the New World.
Flag of the Vatican. The building, with a plant in the shape of a Latin cross, was divided into two oors, around a large central space. The heart of the pavilion housed pictorial works such as " El Descendimiento" , by Caravaggio, and " El Expolio" , by El Greco; sculptures such as the << Saint Christ of Clemency >>, work of MontaùÊs, and pieces of goldsmithing like the Custody of Arfe of the Cathedral of Toledo.
Interior Pavilion of the Holy See. Five rooms were dedicated to the ve centuries of the history of the Church. On the ground oor a series of works arranged according to a historical purpose were articulated; remember the evangelizing work and document its action. Thus, among others, the Catholic Monarchs were presented as the main sponsors of the Colombian company, several gures of the Supreme Pontiffs and the founders of the religious orders that arrived in America.
Interior Pavilion of the Holy See. The rst room, under the heading << The roots of the tree >> presented the origin of the conquest and evangelization, taking the participation of the Crown as a fundamental element of the project of Christopher Columbus. The most outstanding objects of this rst room were, among others, << El Discรณbolo de Mirรณn >>, by Fidias, corresponding to the classical Greek period. The second room is entitled << Dawn of a liberating evangelization >>. When Christopher Columbus discovered the West Indies, the Catholic Kings went to the Holy See, and Pope Alexander VI donated the territories they had discovered to the Kings. << A redeeming message >> was the epigraph of the third room and at the same time the cruise of the nave. This space, arranged in a circular way, offered in the center the Custody of the Cathedral of Toledo.
Pavilion of the Holy See at Expo 92. In the much room, named << The struggle for justice >> was clear the work of humanists who were concerned from the outset by the fate of the natives and their destiny. The works of art that were exhibited in the pavilion of the Holy See came from the diocesan, state and private museums of Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Santo Domingo, Peru, Portugal and Germany, as well as the Vatican Museums, the Vatican Apostolic Library and the San Pedro Factory in Rome.
Interior Pavilion of the Holy See. The Day of Honor of the Holy See at the Expo with the presence of a broad ecclesiastical representation, among which was Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Secretary of State of the Vatican. The acts in the Palenque concluded with the recital of polyphonic music offered by the Choir of the University of Cรกdiz. Subsequently, the delegation moved to the pavilion of the Holy See, whose facilities toured for half an hour.

The National Day of Egypt is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 30, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 30, 1992.
Pavilion of the Arab Countries. Egypt participated in the Universal Exhibition in the joint pavilion of the Arab countries, at the end of Avenida Cinco. A simulation of a pyramid inside the pavilion hosted ninety pieces of archeology and art that ranged from the most remote Pharaonic times (4,500 BC) to the present day. There were samples of Pharaonic history, Greco-Roman, Coptic and Islamic. Due to the incalculable value of the pieces that were exhibited in the pavilion, the people in charge of the pavilion had secured it in more than 4,500 million of the old pesetas.
Flag of Egypt. It is almost impossible to remember with full detailed description of each of the ninety pieces, totas of incalculable value, which was displayed inside the << pyramid >> that had been created in the pavilion. Each of these pieces were protected by a showcase, so they could only be seen at a certain distance, which gave it a greater touch of distinction. The pharaonic civilization, which goes from the Predynastic period to the second Persian period, developed in the Nile valley, and goes from 4,500 to 30 a. of C. The Egyptian was sensitive to the environment in which he lived. The National Day of Finland is celebrated at the Universal Exhibition of Seville. Posted on June 4, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 04, 1992.
Finnish Pavilion Finland chose June 4 to celebrate its national day at the Expo because it was precisely the date on which it commemorates the day of its independence from Russia. The hallmark of the Finland pavilion was the originality of its design: technology and nature, steel and wood, two buildings totally opposite with a single bond of union: an opening of lights and shadows, << The throat of hell >>.
Flag of Finland. The Finnish pavilion at the Universal Exposition of Seville was designed by ve architecture students between 25 and 27 years old who won the admiration of the rest of the participants. Once again, Finland showed off its indisputable creativity, combining aesthetics and functionality in its architecture. Both buildings expressed a part of Finnish life: << The machine >>, a symbol of industrial culture. << The keel >>, representation of nature.
Finnish Pavilion  The design of the Finnish pavilion had been designed with the intention of creating a place to breathe and thus give the visitor a sense of relief. For the rst time, Finland had a pavilion in which the elements of its nature and the culture derived from it were interrelated with the highly developed industry and technology of the country. The pavilion consists of two buildings: the keel and the machine. A long ramp between both buildings formed the entrance to the exhibition halls. The keel was built with beams, columns and arches of laminated wood of authentic Finnish pine. It was a tribute to the wooden boats. Along the keel had been distributed three works of art, designed exclusively for the Expo: an immense sculpture of an insect, made of steel and plastic, placed at the entrance, created a sense of suspense and expectation. The exhibition of the keel was complemented with other works and with twelve showcases referring to daily life, to the level of life and development in Finland.
Interior of the keel of the Finland Pavilion. The two buildings that make up the Finnish pavilion were linked through a narrow canyon two meters wide, but fteen meters high and thirty- ve meters long: << The Gorge of Hell >>, imitated the natural landscape which is located in the center of Finland.
The Gorge of Hell. Â The second building of the Finnish pavilion, with a length of thirty-six meters and a height of eight meters, is characterized by having a rectangular structure and being lined with steel plates. It is the opposite face of the keel. The machine was the symbol of the industrial and technological culture of the Finland pavilion. Along the two sides of the building, a multimedia projection was shown, for which one hundred twenty projectors and nine thousand six hundred slides were used, in which the ow of the four seasons of the Nordic nature was appreciated, melted the ones with others without beginning or end. The images that slowly passed from great panoramas to small details, were accompanied by ambient sound recorded in the Finnish forests. The national day of Finland that was celebrated during all that day in the Expo, was marked by the desire expressed by this country to join the European Economic Community.
Interior of the machine in Finland Pavilion.
The general commissar of the Expo, Emilio Cassinello highlighted the value to contribute to the map of the Europe of peace and progress with the approach of this country to the European Union. Subsequently the Commissioner of the Finnish pavilion, would also highlight the desire for integration in the European Community.
Finnish Pavilion The of cial speeches ended with the words of the Finnish Deputy Prime Minister, Pertti Salolainen, who, after praising the participation of his country in the Universal Exhibition, stressed that his country approved the principles of the new Europe. save

The National Day of Korea is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 5, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 05, 1992.
Korea Pavilion at Expo 92. South Korea celebrated that day its national day of the Expo, having as its highest authority, its vice president, Gak Kyu Choi . The absence of North Korea in the sample, one of the few countries that maintain a regime of communist style, had allowed its neighbor to be called in Seville always as "Korea", as if there were only one. The participation of Korea in the Universal Exhibition, gave visitors the possibility of knowing more deeply, the Asian culture of this country, loaded with strong doses of spirituality, so distant, culturally and geographically, of Western civilization.
Flag of South Korea. This country was presented under the slogan " The Discovery partner ", had as a priority objective, strengthen the bonds of friendship and understanding between all countries in the world, through a sample in which all the progress made by this Northeast Asian country. The pavilion, is located in what was called during the exhibition " Avenue 1 ", between the pavilions of Puerto Rico and Rank Xerox, with a plot of 2400 square meters, of which, 2170 square meters, were intended for the exhibition area. The construction costs of the building amounted to about 500 million pesetas, to which were added the costs of packaging and interior decoration and interior activities, totaling a total of 1200 million pesetas.
Korea Pavilion next to Rank Xerox Company Pavilion. The architectural design of the building was based on the traditional Korean house that has different structures, depending on the climatology of the area in which it is located. For this exhibition, we had opted for a typical rectangular typology of the homes in the north of the country, simulating the " Janchijip ", or "
party house "
Entrance of the Korea Pavilion. On the other hand, an underground heating system was developed that takes advantage of the heat generated from the chimney and the kitchen, very similar to the system used in Spain in the Castilla area. This traditional conception, harmoniously linked with the schemes of modern architecture, with the idea of offering an image of spaciousness and welcome to its visitors, through the design of a simple and familiar home in which predominantly the red and the white, symbolizing the colors of the national ag.
Main entrance of the Korea Pavilion. Before going inside the pavilion, at the entrance of the building, the visitor could go through the so-called " Door of eternal youth ", whose meaning symbolized the hope of human beings in immortality. This architectural element, which was built for the Royal Palace of Chang Duck-Gung, with the idea of extending the life of the king, contained a message in which the secret to long life without aging could be read, and that was to pass Through the door. This entrance area, composed of a wooden postdintel structure, a wall of earth that formed a prehistoric honeycomb design and an antisun roof to protect from rain and wind, hosted the rst courtyard of the building, called " Yonggo ", or " Dragon drum ", which symbolized peace, harmony and progress. This drum, which measured more than two meters in diameter and weighed 180 kilos, unveiled its sound for the rst time, at the inaugural ceremony of the Seoul Olympic Games, held in 1988.
Interior pavilion. In the center of the ground oor, was the " Patio de la Funiรณn ", or " Noridamang ", considered as a place of expansion, and in which oriental art is demonstrated in Korean calligraphy and in the manufacture of fans. In the second area of the pavilion, " Hands of Change ", showed the changes experienced in traditional cultures, linguistic and urban, over 5000 years of Korean culture. In relation to the culture, of the dress, a crockery of earth was exhibited that represented the gure of a knight and his rider, showing us the way of dress of the knights and the instruments of chivalry. An exhibition of multi-screen videos, presented the works of the avant-garde artist Nam June Paik, in relation to the V Centennial, highlighting especially the " Robot of Columbus ", and the " Rocket Tower ", which symbolized the Discovery of America and the exploration of the Moon by man, respectively.
Interior Korea Pavilion. Within this area was also included the presentation of the basic concept, objective theme, emblem and mascot of the " Exhibition Taejon 1993 ", through photographs and videos that showed the current state of the facilities, as well as a model of the general plan , the main focus of attention in this room. This International Exhibition, which was developed under the theme " The challenge of a new path to development ", took place between August 7 and November 7, 1993. This exhibition aimed to pay tribute to Universal Science, and serve as a link of union between technology, modern science and the ef cient use of natural resources and their reuse.
Expo 93 in Taejon (South Korea). The Deputy Prime Minister of Korea, Gak Kyu Choi, highlighted that day at the Expo, which the following year would hold an International Exhibition that would enhance the spirit of cooperation of the Sevillian show. Korea brought in its national day at Expo 92, the colorful and exotic of its country, the most traditional folk dances, as well as different demonstrations of martial arts. The commemorative events began in the morning with the reception offered by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Solchaga and the General Commissioner of the Expo 92, Emilio Cassinello, the Deputy Prime Minister of Korea and responsible for planning, Gak Kyu Choi, and the Ambassador of that republic in Spain and General Commissioner of the national section, Tae Woong Kwong.
Interior of Korea. Emilio Cassinello said, "for some Westerners, Korea is a dragon of the Paci c, a surprising being endowed with strange economic and commercial powers, capable of selling everything at a competitive price " Cassinello showed his deep admiration for the Korean people. Gak Kyu Choi confessed his great joy because his people could show their culture to the visitors of the site and he assured that he sincerely hoped that the distinguished guests deepened their understanding of Korea.

Fujitsu Honor Day is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 20, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 20, 1992.
Fujitsu Pavilion at Expo 92. The Expo-Hemeroteca goes away today to June 20, 1992, date in which the day of honor of Fujitsu was celebrated , Japanese company considered worldwide leader in equipment of microelectronics and telecommunications, besides being the second world-wide manufacturer of systems for the information processing. The building of this Japanese multinational was located in the western area of the site, speci cally on Avenida de las Palmeras between the pavilions of Switzerland and Eleven, and had been designed by Spanish architects JosĂŠ A. Aguinaga and Sergio Casado. With a total built area of two thousand ve hundred square meters on a plot of three thousand six hundred square meters, it has simple geometric forms and dominates a conception of pure volumes, nuanced in some areas by shadow games.
Avenida de las Palmeras, where the Fujitsu Pavilion was located. Fujitsu was one of the three non-Spanish companies that had its own pavilion within the sample, along with Siemens and Rank Xerox. As an associated company, its status as a corporate participant was added, by virtue of which it acquired the right to build its own pavilion within the premises.
Fujitsu Pavilion. Under the motto << Discover art in technology. And technology in life >>, the pavilion offered as the main attraction for the public the screening of the threedimensional lm, twenty minutes long, entitled << Echoes of the sun >>, which used the most advanced technologies to show the process of photosynthesis and the creation of energy through a journey through the microscopic world of plant and animal cells.
Brochure of the Ecos del Sol projection of the Fujitsu Pavilion. It was based on the path of a particle of light from the sun to its last transformation in human energy, passing through the intermediate biochemical processes to which this particle contributed its energy as a generator of the driving force that gives life to plants, animals and nally man. The main and distinct characteristic of << Echoes of the Sun >> was that it allowed to be seen in a super-panoramic format in three dimensions in full color, with live images that tried to preserve, above all, the scienti c reality. In a room with a capacity for three hundred and thirty people sitting, one could contemplate the projection of the lm on a curved, twenty-four meter diameter screen that corresponded to the cupola of the pavilion.
Fujitsu three-dimensional cinema. Thanks to three-dimensional glasses with an electronic shutter of solid imax, it was possible to view images that were projected alternately from right to left. These glasses equipped with << LCD >> lenses, became opaque or transparent depending on the impulses received, with a sequence of up to ninety-six times per second. << Echoes of the sun >>, with a cost of three thousand two hundred million pesetas, was considered one of the most expensive lms in the history of cinema. The Fujitsu pavilion also housed a permanent painting exhibition room, the work of the Japanese artist Seiran Yanahida. The content of the work took as a fundamental motif the graphics of traditional Japanese calligraphy, called << sho >>.
Exhibition of paintings inside the Fujitsu Pavilion. The company Fujitsu Limited had extensive experience in international exhibitions, appearing as a prominent participant in the 1985 exhibition in Tsukuba (Japan). The Fujitsu manager, Shigeo Muraoka, expressed his wish that the Japanese multinational was present in Cartuja 93, but indicated that day that its managers had to clarify some points and that this did not give reliability to the project.
The long lines of the Fujitsu Pavilion early in the morning. The representative of the company said that his pavilion pointed to the effort that Fujitsu had made in Spain and Europe in those years. save

The Canary Islands Honor Day is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 18, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 18, 1992.
Pavilion of the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands Pavilion at Expo 92, had an area of 1,814 square meters and was located on the eastern edge of the Lake of Spain between the pavilions of Castilla-La Mancha and Navarra. The Canarian pavilion re ected the importance of the islands in history and in the future, presenting the Canary Islands as the center of gravity of three continents. The visitor, therefore, had the impression of traveling back in time, from the fteenth century to the twenty- rst century, discovering the genesis of volcanoes, the sound of the wind and other characteristic elements of the islands.
Flag Canary Islands. The Canarian participation re ected an important link Canary-America. So much so, that in the fteenth century the Canary Islands became the obligatory road to the Indies. The archipelago offered to Columbus stop and provisioning in his trips. He was also the rst of the navigators who highlighted the Canary Islands as a starting point for adventures and colonization. All the expeditions had as reference the islands, considered as the last port in the known world, the frontier of Europe and a great leap towards the unknown Atlantic Ocean.
Pavilion of the Canary Islands. On the rst oor was the information area and the store with typical products from the islands. Before entering the second oor it was necessary to have a few seconds before a videowall where a lm about the Canary Islands was screened with music by Teddy Bautista. The rst stop on the second oor was in the prehistoric area where several pottery pieces were shown. The history that contains some of these pieces is more than interesting. Another of the pieces that made up the prehistoric exhibition was the << Idol of Tara >>, the goddess or the god of fertility, both of the human being and of the earth, since it was not known exactly what was their sex and utensils that the Guanches used in their daily lives.
Interior Canary Islands Pavilion. And from the area of Prehistory to that of << Canarias today >>. In it the visitor had at his disposal four easy-to-use computers that offered information on various aspects of Canary life: economy, tourism, history, geographical situation of the different islands. Another area of the pavilion presented to the visitor the origin and the volcanic nature of the Canarian archipelago and the adaptation of the population to the environment. There was a vision of the importance of volcanoes in the Canaries and the bene ts that had been derived from them. The central element was a volcanic segment reproduced on a real scale of the Cueva del Viento, located in Icod de los Vinos in the Tenerife room. The exhibition of this second oor ended with the so-called zone of the sea. The inner part of an octagon projected a documentary about the ora and fauna of the Canary Islands while on the ground were represented the marine currents that together with the trade winds are what determined that these islands enjoy their envied climate, which does not exceed 25 or 27 degrees.
Detail of the facade of the Canarian pavilion. The day of honor of the Canary Islands in the Expo was presided over by the president of his community, JerĂłnimo Saavedra , who highlighted in his speech the zeal that canaries show in the face of adversity. In the honorable speeches offered at the Palenque, the SabandeĂąos performed some sevillanas, with Canarian instruments. As for the meaning of the Canary Island pavilion on the Isla de la Cartuja, the president of this community would point out that his building wanted to show its foundations and its unique harmony to the four winds of the ocean. save

Murcia's Honor Day is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 9, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 9, 1992.
Murcia Pavilion. In the enclosure of the Island of the Cartuja, that day was celebrated the Day of Honor of Murcia , that counted on the assistance of the President of the Murcian Community, Carlos Collado. As more signi cant events of the day, for its popularity and color, was the celebration of two traditional festivals in the area: the << Bando de la Huerta >> and the << Burial of the Sardine >>.
PabellĂłn de Murcia (Photography Verdeden). The building of the pavilion of Murcia, work of the architect Vicente MartĂnez Gadea , summarizes, in its three bodies of height, the most characteristic of the Murcian geography; the littoral, the orchard and the high areas; having in its great front of natural owers (25,000 gerberas) its most outstanding singularity. Murcia was represented as a garden that slid from the Castilian highlands to the coast.
Flag of the Region of Murcia. Thus, the sloping ower cover descended, like the orchard, to the lower areas of the Mar Menor. Within the cultural offer that Murcia showed at the Universal Exhibition was the lm << The hell promised >>, directed by Juan Manuel Chumilla. The lm was shot in the region of Murcia and had a great cast of Murcia actors like Paco Rabal.
Interior Murcia Pavilion. The pavilion of Murcia followed the motto of the Universal Exhibition of Seville: << The Age of Discovery >>, in this way its pavilion contained two of the most outstanding inventions in this eld of our era: the submarine of Isaac Peral and the autogiro of Juan de la Cierva, without forgetting the geodesic dome of Emilio Pérez Piñero.
Underwater of Isaac Peral in the interior of the Murcia Pavilion. On the other hand, in the pavilion, aspects of the religious and festive culture of Mucia took on special importance: the passage of La Santa Cena de Salzillo, the embroidery of Lorca, cloaks of the Caravaca Wine Horses, the Almohad period with the gure of Ibn Al'Arabi or the sculpture of Lidó Rico.
Logo Pavilion of Murcia. The pavilion presented a sailor tour based on models of ships and authentic tools of the era with which they were shaped: galleys, jabeques and ships, not forgetting the most famous of all, the submarine, which could be seen in the basement of the pavilion.
Underwater of Isaac Peral. The pavilion of Murcia presented a sloping cover of owers that descended, similar to the Murcian orchard to the lower area, where the ponds, the footbridges of the Mar Menor spas through which it entered the interior of the pavilion, or the submarine of Isaac Peral, who composed the marine aspect of this land.
Murcia Pavilion at Expo 92.
Above, crowning the composition, four tall towers like those of the castles that de ned the populations of the interior. The region of Murcia wanted to project its historical development to the exterior, both in the discoveries of the past and in the present achievements and in the hope of the future, showing some discoveries.
Interior pavilion of Murcia (Photography Bruno Barbey). The day of honor of Murcia, was celebrated between the joy of the Bando de la Huerta and the gifts that the Autonomous Community distributed by the Cartuja, The president of the community, Carlos Collado, acted as representative of a modern, self-con dent Murcia and open to all initiatives that felt supportive of this common project. The General Commissioner of the Exhibition, Emilio Cassinello, declared that the Expo << re ects his country as no other event had done it >>, assuring that it was not intended only to re ect the external variety, but to provoke a look inside, to invite Know yourself. That is why he encouraged that day to take a tour of the autonomic wheel because it was worth it. save

The National Day of Peru is celebrated in Expo 92. Posted on June 21, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 21, 1992.
The pavilion of Peru was located in the Plaza de América. Peru celebrated that day its National Day in the precinct of La Cartuja. The events were attended by the Peruvian Prime Minister Oscar de la Puente Raygada . Under the theme << Peru: millennial presence >>, this Andean country approached the Universal Exposition (in the words of the President of the Republic, Alberto Fujimori), << with the primary intention of providing a panoramic view of the millennial cultural richness and to bring to each of the visitors the message of culture and sincere brotherhood >>.
Flag of Peru. The presence of Peru at the Expo was not limited to the contents of its pavilion. The most signi cant contents were shown in the exhibition " Gold of America" , located on the third level of the Plaza de América building. Peru occupied a prominent place with pieces belonging to diverse pre-Columbian cultures, among them the << mochica >> and the << nasca >>. What most caught our attention were the decorative pieces with which a warrior << chimú >> was buried . It was the costume of a great chief of the year 1,300 BC
Commemorative stamp in Peru.
Also worth mentioning is the series that made up the << lambeyadas >>, among which was a golden head, several ceremonial vessels and ritual knives. Other treasures such as the pieces << vicus >>: necklaces, nosepieces and masks completed the Peruvian representation in the sample << Gold of America >>. The pavilion of Peru also had an audiovisual entitled << Peru possible >>. The videos covered topics as diverse as miscegenation and communications, the ecology and ruins of Machu Picchu, mining and the Nazca Lines, but always highlighting the human side of Peru.
Promotional poster of the exhibition of the pavilion of Peru. Inside the pavilion of Peru, nineteen original pieces that belonged to the Lord of SipĂĄn could be admired. The treasure consisted of some six hundred pieces of gold, silver and golden copper, most of which had been sent to the Berlin Museum for an essential and delicate task of restoration. A large store was installed on the upper oor of the Peru pavilion. The commercial zone was divided into seven sections that responded to the names of agroindustry, alpaca, jewelry, cotton, crafts, souvenirs and entertainment.
Peru in Expo 92. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru, Oscar de la Puente, said during the national day of his country, that Peru is land to serve because they worked in a framework of solidarity with sister nations. Oscar de la Puente thanked the Spanish Government and the State Society for the opportunity they had been given to be present at the 1992 Universal Exposition.

The National Day of Puerto Rico is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 23, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 23, 1992.
Parade of Puerto Rican ags through the Isla de la Cartuja. That 1992 was the rst time that Puerto Rico participated with its own independent pavilion in an event of such magnitude and took advantage of its presence in Seville to establish contacts with the industrial and commercial world of the European Common Market. The old Borinquen, as the island was known in ancient voices, was discovered by Columbus in 1493. The Economic Development Company of Puerto Rico awarded one thousand three hundred and eighty million pesetas in contracts to fteen companies in Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, the United States and Spain for works related to the construction and operation of the Pavilion of Puerto Rico. Most of it had been devoted to the design, decoration and construction of the structure.
Pavilion of Puerto Rico. It was the governor Hernández Colón himself who said during a dinner with the Junta de Andalucía in the house of Spain of the Puerto Rican capital, that the ag of Puerto Rico would remain in Seville after the closure of the Universal Exhibition.
Puerto Rico's ag. The ag of Puerto Rico is located on the old Avenida 1, next to the pavilions of Mexico and Korea, three of the legacy pavilions of the Universal Exhibition. The one in Puerto Rico was built on a plot of two thousand ve hundred square meters, a building of avant-garde design, the work of the architects Sierra, Cardona and Ferrer .
Pavilion of Puerto Rico. Three structures formed the whole: a triangular building covered with stone, which evoked the walls and fortresses of the colonial era; a pergola of white marble composed of terraces, stairs and balconies, intertwined the whole. The open eld provided by the pergola symbolized the departure of the Puerto Rican people from the con nement of their insularism to enter into the exchange they maintain with other peoples.
The hostesses and workers of the Pavilion of Puerto Rico receive the Queen So a in the days of Expo 92. The third module consists of a cylinder with sheets of copper and glass, which symbolized the present and technology of Puerto Rico. This cylinder was surrounded by water, as a tribute to the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean that bathes the island. This space made up what everyone would call " the beach" of the pavilion, where every night a Puerto Rican group encouraged visitors to stay.
The visitors queued to enter next to the so-called Puerto Rico Beach. At the entrance to the building, a sculpture by the Puerto Rican artist Pablo Rubio named << Crystals of peace >> was exhibited . The basic concept on which this work was inspired is the meeting of two times, technology, progress, courage, culture and a people. The route started on the ground oor, on the left side of which was a sculpture by Jaime Suarez called << Interior topography >>. The visitor climbed the stairs to the second oor that housed a permanent exhibition of the past, the present and the future of Puerto Rico. Before arriving at this plant they could contemplate the sculpture << The island recreated >> by Susana Espinosa.
Interior Pavilion of Puerto Rico. The tour continued on the second oor with an allegorical exhibition, which combined photographs and objects related to different periods, from the forties until 1992 or even thinking about future projects such as hosting an Olympic Games. Then the visitors continued in another room with a domed screen of one hundred and sixty degrees, with capacity for two hundred and twenty spectators who enjoyed the fteen minute lm in seventy millimeter format. A projection about daily activities, culture, technological development and a varied and alive Puerto Rico. The visitor could obtain various items in the pavilion's shop: from the famous rum, to coffee, Creole cookbooks, juices accompanied by coconut cream for pina colada and some jewelery items.
Fan of the National Day of Puerto Rico at Expo 92. In this way, Puerto Rico celebrated its National Day on June 23, 1992, in the middle of a festive atmosphere. As soon as they set foot on Isla de la Cartuja, the visitors met Puerto Ricans who handed out ags of their country in colored papers, paypays, advertising brochures, and cards with a number, which if placed in the mailbox of the pavilion I could touch you a trip to Puerto Rico.
Interior pavilion of Puerto Rico. The stage of the Palenque was full of white uniformed musicians from shoes to caps. They were, in total, one hundred and fty members of the Mita Congregational Band. The song that they played that day of honor, << I am Boricua of blood and heart >>, provoked the enthusiasm of some stands full of enthusiastic << Puerto Ricans >> who waved their ags while whistling and shouting.
Puerto Rican groups encouraged visitors to stay each night in the pavilion.

The National Day of Sao Tome and Principe is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 22, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 22, 1992.
Plaza of Africa. The archipelago of Sao Tome and Principe celebrated its National Day at the Expo with the main objective of making itself known to the whole world. These two islands of the Gulf of Guinea, located one hundred and eighty miles from the coast, in southern Cameroon, were present in Africa Square, next to Angola, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea , Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal and Zimbabwe . The President of the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, Miguel Trovoada presided over that day the ceremonial and cultural events planned for the National Day of his country at Expo 92. The delegation of Sao Tome and Principe visited that day of honor the thematic countries , the Cathedral and the royal Alcazar of Seville.
Flag of Sao Tome and Principe. Sao Tome and Principe were discovered in 1471 and colonized in 1486. These islands served as slaves to America, until the year 1869 when slavery was abolished. Until that date, the hardest jobs in the cultivation plantations were carried out by people recruited from Africa and natives of the island, while the Europeans formed societies with commercial ends. African participation became a reality within this Universal meeting thanks to the help of the Confederation of Andalusian Businessmen, who had subsidized and built the Plaza de África building. For its part, the State Company and the EC nanced the contents of the pavilion with one thousand two hundred million pesetas. The director of the pavilion noted that the important thing is that Spanish and foreign visitors nd out where the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe are, since they were internationally unknown at that time.
Plaza of Africa. The tour of the São Tomé y Príncipe pavilion, located on the ground oor of the Plaza de África, started on the right side where the visitor came across a snake-shaped sculpture made with tree roots by the sculptor Juan Carlos Silva . The contents of this pavilion were established following the main concern of those responsible for this country, who wanted to take advantage of these six months to promote the islands. This general idea was particularized by areas where the elements of the main production of this country, agriculture, were exhibited in a rst space. Cocoa and coffee beans, and agricultural instruments were the rst to be shown to the visitor. The only treasure of the pavilion was composed of four silver crowns from a church and later transferred to the National Museum of Santo Tomé. The visitor could contemplate the art of these islands through handmade rag dolls, dressed in typical costumes, which represented a theater group called << Tchiloli >>.
Interior Africa Square. One of the main attractions of the pavilion had been the artisanal objects made with turtle shell. In the last area of the pavilion was some furniture made with embedded wood. save

The National Day of South Africa is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 24, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 24, 1992.
Pavilion of South Africa. The National Day of South Africa was chaired by the wife of the President of South Africa, Marike de Klerk, and Deputy Foreign Minister Reninr Schoeman. The South African pavilion presented a simple image due to its size, a pavilion that was in the Universal Exhibition to make itself known to the world in a transcendental moment that this country lived in its history. The pavilion was formed by two domes topped by brass cones and a spherical, three-dimensional and rotating element, composed of panels of colored mirrors, which symbolized the mineral wealth and technological competence of South Africa.
Pavilion of South Africa. The interior of the pavilion with a cool, dark atmosphere, with high blue ceilings and bright spots, gave the effect of a night sky. In the four corners of the pavilion, large video screens continuously displayed images of South Africa, its people, its traditional and modern features and its contribution to the development of Africa and the rest of the world. The South African pavilion symbolized the future and wealth of a country that wanted to forget about its past and begin to live harmoniously without racial and ethnic problems. The roof of the pavilion was composed of two towers, an architectural adaptation that simulated the traditional houses where the majority of the black population lived, but with an avant-garde touch, which symbolized their openness to change.
Flag of South Africa until 1994.
Among the contents that housed inside, highlighted the skull of a child, discovered at the beginning of the twentieth century and dating back more than two million years. This skull, together with other later archaeological ndings of great relevance, formed a stand baptized as the << Cradle of Humanity >>, which wanted to imply that all the inhabitants of the earth have a common past, according to Alexander Stander . The pavilion showed, also later ndings, with documentation related to the archaeological investigations of each one of them.
Pavilion of South Africa. Under the slogan << Ready for the 21st century >>, South Africa has announced to visitors of its pavilion numerous high-tech tools, such as diamond cutting. He also informed in his pavilion of his participation in 150 international satellites. The tests were done in the South African sky and orders were given from there. Of its geography, the pavilion presented Cape Town as a large tourist area, with excellent hotels, beaches, nature reserves, vineyards of great importance and the practice of numerous sports, many of them related to the sea.

The National Day of Sweden is celebrated at Expo 92. Posted on June 15, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 15, 1992.
Swedish Pavilion. Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and his wife Queen Silvia , presided over that day the commemorative events of the National Day of Sweden at Expo 92 , which they organized with a broad cultural program for the whole week on the premises. Los Reyes Carlos Gustavo and Silvia de Suecia were received at the Camino Real by the general commissioner, Emilio Cassinello, and Minister of Relations with Parliament, Virgilio Zapatero. After the signing of honor in the book of illustrious visitors inside the Royal Pavilion, the delegation went to the scenic space of Palenque, where they waited for the Swedish monarchs more than two thousand citizens of this country, who moved to the site of the Universal Exhibition to celebrate the Honor Day of your country at the Expo.

The Swedish pavilion was a gateway to the discoveries that revolutionized daily life, which usually went unnoticed, but which, however, could not be dispensed with. Few people know that the zipper, the wrench, the refrigerators, the Celsius thermometer, the three-point safety belt or the dynamite, among many others, were Swedish inventions.
Flag of Sweden. Most of these inventions were exhibited inside the Swedish pavilion not in a natural size but with great dimensions.
More than half of Sweden's area is forest area. Therefore, it was not surprising that the rst thing that was wanted to recreate in the pavilion were its forests. Trunks of trees of different species, all natural, and the song of the blackbird and the cuckoo, together with a dim light and a drop in temperature, we wanted to convey the feeling of being in one of the many Swedish forests.
Interior Sweden Pavilion. In the center of the pavilion a large blue dome was installed. Its exterior represented the raids of the Vikings around the world, its passage through England, Ireland, North America, Iceland, Greenland, Russia, Constantinople, Seville and Cordoba. The inner area of the dome symbolized a summer night in Sweden. There was real grass with wild owers, a stream and three salmon, the typical sh of this Nordic, crystal country.
Interior Sweden Pavilion. I could not miss the mention of the Viking age in Sweden. As a reminder, the pavilion exhibited a sculpted stone with an inscription: << Bibble raised the stone in honor of his wife Rotjud, daughter of Rodgeir, in Anga >>. Among the many inventions that were exhibited in the Swedish pavilion and that we have already named, it should be noted for its large size, a refrigerator with a snowman inside. The refrigerator was invented in this country in 1922 by Platen and Munters and its construction was developed by the company Electrolux.
Interior of the Swedish Pavilion. Already one step away from the exit of the pavilion was the famous girl with the red braids, Pippi Longstocking, lifting her horse. Pippi to the delights of adults and children who did not hesitate to photograph with her.
Speeches at the Palenque in the day of honor of Sweden. The building, with 1,600 square meters of surface was 18 meters high and was designed by a group of young architects, who on the cover of the building tried to remember the birch forests by numerous stylized columns, the pavilion had an indoor oor and another Exterior.

In the rst there were two circular structures between which a large room was extended, in the second with a vestibule, enough space was transformed for the expression of the chosen artists in the form of sculptures and images in which the luminous nuance of the countries dominated Nordic save

The National Day of the Philippines is celebrated at the Universal Exposition of Seville. Posted on June 12, 2017 Hemeroteca Expo - June 12, 1992.
Pavilion of the Philippines. The Philippines , an archipelago formed by more than seven thousand islands, occupied that day the center of attention of all visitors to the Cartuja site, the reason was the celebration of its National Day at Expo 92. The Philippines pavilion was located on Avenida Uno, along with other Asian countries: Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Under the motto, << Philippines, a diverse land >>, this country presented the world with a new image through an audiovisual that lasted seven minutes and through slides towards a tour of the archipelago, emphasizing tourism and trade. , and inviting those present to come and visit.
Flag of the Philippines. The exhibition hall featured pieces of gold with an antiquity of more than eight hundred years before Christ, engraved in glass of the famous rice terraces of the Cordillera Norte, indigenous weavings made by hand and as a novelty the Virgin of Peace. The Philippine pavilion consisted of several parts, but the most important was the audiovisual room, exhibition hall, Filipino shop and the restaurant that was called << Viva Manila >>. The audiovisual presentation was presented simultaneously in English and Spanish and showed a brief view of the Philippines, with a special attraction of its beaches and gastronomy.
Pavilion of the Philippines at Expo 92. In the exhibition hall we had to highlight the Virgin of Peace and Good Journey, of Spanish origin, who left our country in the sixteenth century. What symbolized the Spanish presence in the Philippine Islands were the models of the facades of the Hispanic buildings built during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, among which were the churches of Miagao de lloilo, Manila Cathedral, Malate Church, Santo NiĂąo Cebu and Fort Santiago. All these pieces were made of mactan stone and represented the most important heritage of the Spanish era. On the other hand, it also highlighted the famous Ifugao rice terraces, located in the area of the northern mountain range of Luzon and where nine ethnic groups live that remained alien to all foreign in uence and practiced numerous rites related to planting and harvesting. The architecture of the Philippine pavilion was inspired by a manor house that showed the traditional heritage of the country and its diverse cultural in uences. Of the pavilion it emphasized his tower composed by shells.
Philippines in Expo 92. The people in charge of the pavilion made during that day of honor of the Philippines a lottery by means of which they gave a trip to the Philippines to that person who guessed the number of cochas of which the aforementioned tower consisted.
Tower of the Philippines Pavilion. The pavilion of the Philippines consisted of a glass façade with lacquered sheet metal panels, and a large tower covered with colorful gourd in pastel tones that recalled the Alexandrian papers from afar. The same architecture of the pavilion already symbolized part of the Filipino tradition, by taking bamboo as a substitute for glass, lacquered sheet or clay tiles.
Folklore groups and Filipino stars of the melodic song performed in the venue. But its main attraction was a collection of goldsmith's pieces, in gold, dated in the 10th century, as well as panels of Muslim textiles, embroidery and ceramics. save
