Week 7 Journal Off Campus

The exteriors on a part of the building have already been completed. Hence, all the structural members are already in place, but interiors and other neccessities such as utilities and services remain to be installed.

The site observed was an apartment complex under construction.

The foundations and the frame of the superstructure have been completed. Scaffolding around the building remain to help the construction process by supporting the structure temporarily.

Some of the exterior members still remain without proper support, such as these concrete panels. Hence, temporary supports such as these steel posts must be installed in order to keep the panels standing upright while construction is under way.

Other support members such as these timber beams for the roof structure have already been implemented, as some members are crucial in terms of priority. In this case, the rafters must be installed first in order to support the roof, so that construction in other parts of the structure can be underway.
