THE LAY OF THE LAND IN BIG SKY, MONTANA GALLATIN RIVER CANYON As you wind your way toward Big Sky, through the Gallatin Canyon along the famous Gallatin River, you may catch a glimpse of an eagle soaring overhead among jagged spires, a fisherman battling with a rainbow trout or get caught up in the excitement of rafters navigating through the river’s many rapids. Many of Big Sky’s residents choose to live in the Canyon. Not just for the obvious, hunting, hiking, rafting, kayaking, fishing, rock climbing and wildlife viewing, but because it is the link to both Bozeman and Yellowstone National Park. BIG SKY MEADOW VILLAGE & TOWN CENTER The Meadow Village is nestled in a charming little valley dominated by 3 major mountain ranges. It is the heart of the Big Sky community. Most full time residents live here. At about 6,500 feet, the Meadow is easy breathing and has everything you need to make your stay perfect. The two commercial areas in the Meadow Village are the Meadow Village Center and the Big Sky Town Center. There are many hikes and walking trails throughout the Meadow Village and in winter, x-country ski the many miles of the Lone Mountain Ranch’s groomed trails. Enjoy ice skating, hockey or curling in the Big Sky Town Center. Ski Joring is Big Sky’s newest spectator sport. Meadow Village Neighborhoods include condos, townhomes, and single family residences to 20 acre estates. BIG SKY MOUNTAIN VILLAGE & BIG SKY RESORT Big Sky Mountain Village is the area that surrounds the base of Lone Mountain. It is also home to Big Sky Ski Resort. All visitors are welcome to the Big Sky Ski Resort. It is a public Ski and Summer Resort. Six miles from the Meadow Village. The average snow fall is about 400 feet of light, dry powder. Big Sky Resort does an amazing job of keeping both powder hounds and those who prefer groomed slopes happy on 5,850 acres of trails. Over the years, developments in Beehive Basin, Ulery’s Lake, and Cascade Ridge have also become grouped into the Mountain Village. The Mountain Village is the area closest to Big Sky Resort and has the highest concentration of condominiums in Big Sky, several of which have existed in some form since the resort’s inception in the 1970’s. The iconic Mountain Village operates as the ski area’s hub of activity and nightlife. MOONLIGHT BASIN Tucked around the north side of Lone Peak sits the Moonlight Basin community, an oasis that boasts incredible views, on-site amenities, and many ski-in, ski-out properties, some right off the slopes of Big Sky Resort. Once an independent ski area, Moonlight

Basin was developed with conservation efforts in mind, integrating wildlife corridors and keeping a good portion of the acreage in conservation easements to preserve the view shed and the natural wild lands that abound.
