Raw for Cure event
We have participated in the national breast cancer event of " Raw for cure" in Al Mokawleen Al Arab club in October 2012 to support breast cancer victims & to raise awareness about breast cancer detection & give hoe of cure.
BSSS had 3 attendees in that event.
Obstacles: -
National call for delegations opened only 3 days before the event & deadline was set after 24 hours only of the call.
Suggestions & comments: -
There have to be good preparation for such an event to recruit more attendees for it from LCs.
-
This event has to be linked with local Breast cancer campaigns in each LC.

Local level: -

We held a local workshop for BSSS members & medical students to prepare them for the actual campaign Workshop given by Mr. Ahmed Hanger & Mr. Ahmed Tawheed who attended the national workshop Last year.
2- Phase 2 : World AIDS Day Campaign. -
-
We held a big campaign in the Faculty for 2 days to make awareness about our Message. More than 20 BSSS members participated in that campaign. A Stationary Information desk was prepared for 2 days with attractive decorations to attract people to come to it. 3 Ambulatory well prepared outreach information teams has surfed the Faculty & hospital with brochures & booklets to reach people who didn't come to the information desk & conduct our Message to them. Target Group: 1- Of the workshop: BSSS members & interested medical students in spreading our awareness. 2- Of the campaign: - Medical students. - Doctors. - Nurses. - Faculty clerks & security officers.
Slogan: "Getting To Zero Stigma, Discrimination & Infection".
Outcome: -
Positives: -
Good Fund. Good materials provided nationally. The already nationally trained core team.
Challenges & Obstacles: -
-

Very bad timing of the project: most of the team was working under severe stress due to the final term Exams "we have to take in our account that now most of the faculty has credit hours program with half term & term exams every 3 months. Very vague message that makes us exert extra effort to conduct all of it at the same time.
Comments & Suggestions: -
I would suggest more material support next year to cover more target group. More flexibility in Time choosing because December is a very tough period due to exams besides a lot of other projects in other committees are already running.
-
Minimize the message to only 1 aspect each year to be able to advocate it more accurately.
