Welcome message from BSSS President Dear Medical Students Worldwide, We would like to invite you all to the 4th Edition of BSSS Summer School Program “BOOST YOUR SKILLS” which will take place from 13th of August 2015 to 22nd of August 2015 at Egypt. The stunning, colossal monuments of Ancient Egypt never fail to astonish. The heat, sight and the light of the desert invigorate. The cool, turquoise waters rejuvenate. A romantic cruise along the world’s longest river dazzles the senses. A first class getaway resort in the Red Sea Riviera is pure escapism. No place has the magic, mystery and pleasures of Egypt. Message from BSSS Summer School Team Hello everybody, Please take a deep breath and read this thoroughly because what you are going to experience here is something mixed with adventure, fantasy and beauty. Being in Egypt is totally different than watching it on TVs and the medical field has many unique parts that you need to experience. That is what we were aiming at while making this program to let you enjoy Egypt to the max and get the most benefit from your visit here. The kind people, the magnificent nature, the great weather and the ancient monument will manipulate your feelings to adore it, and guess what we still feel excited here although it’s a 23 year living now. About Benha Students’ Scientific Society “BSSS” Benha Students’ Scientific Society “BSSS” is a non-political, non-religious association aiming to serve medical students and people. Benha Students’ Scientific Society “BSSS” was established in 1982 and joined in 1988 as a Full member in The International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations-Egypt (IFMSA-Egypt). Over 30 years of professional and research exchange BSSS has been working in collaboration with the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA). Mission: Our mission is to offer future physicians introduced to global health issues. Through our programs and opportunities, we develop well oriented medical students able to cope with the surrounding world and able to solve its problems. About Benha Faculty of Medicine One of Benha University colleges. Established by Presidential Decree No. 1143 of 25/1/1976, It is the 9th college to be established in Egypt. College began to accept the first division in the first year in 1981/1982 and they were 50 students then the number increased to 450 in 2003

About Benha University Hospitals Established the hospital in 1981, the efforts and contributions that have been collected from the people of the province have been developed the current structure, adopted the agenda and functions of the President of the Central Agency for Organization and Management of resolution No. (351) for the year 1981 and the number of employees at that time (134) workers and staff and a nurse and a doctor

It has a history as nearby are the remains of Athribis which was once the capital of the 10th Nome. Athribis was associated with the worship of the black bull. During the Roman period the city was at its greatest importance.. Some 26th to 30th Dynasty silver ingots and jewelry that were found at the Athribis site that are now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo Last but not least, that you will meet the most amazing team that will always want to draw the smile on your face.

In a student hostel about 1 minute walking from the hospital, it offers air-conditioned rooms with TV, Fridge and separate bathrooms. It has security where no one can enter without permission that guarantee you safety and no disturbance.
BOARDING We offer you 1 meal in a beautiful restaurant “Sun City” where you can choose from a set menu different dishes to enjoy. The restaurant is 2 minutes walking from the hostel .It’s air-conditioned with WIFI and has an outdoor place if you want to enjoy the sun and fresh air.

That was a comment from a student joined our summer school. The medical field in Egypt is very unique; being somehow short in resources and that patients need treatment with low cost made our doctors develop their skills to diagnose cases with just a look or with simple investigations.
BSSS presents you its 4th edition of its summer school where you will take lectures about how to manage cases in lowest cost , how to deal with patients in your daily routine and moreover live this daily experience in any department you choose. This will be a tremendous boost for your experience and skills that will make you able to perform in different conditions.

SCIENTIFIC PROG
Lectures will be about: 1. How to take history and what rings bells from the patients symptoms and sign, and how to manage these cases with low cost. 2. Doctor-patient relationship which is unique in Egypt . 3. A lecture about hepatitis and Bilhariziasis being so common in Egypt. we choose it as an example and also to know more about these diseases. Departments available: 1. General surgery 2. Internal medicine 3. Ophthalmology 4. Gynaecology 5. Orthopedics (Availability of departments is according to the presence of tutors at this period)

Cairo Because you never visited a country without visiting its capital and Cairo is a worth visiting one. Cairo is a city where you will go through ages in one day going from the pyramids, the citadel, Islamic Egypt, Khan El Khalily Bazar to the luxurious restaurants and malls. All this will blend take your breath from the awesomeness.

Alexandria Egypt’s pride overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and with its Ancient Greek remaining will let you enjoy it whatever happens. You will never forget standing at the wall of Qaietbey citadel watching the boats sailing in the sea resembling a great Greek leader scouting his navy, and don’t forget to visit the great library as one of the biggest libraries in the Middle East.

Dahab It’s the beauty of sand and the Red Sea, don’t miss the blue hole one the most famous snorkeling spots and Saint Catherine mountain where you can see the sun rise from 7500 meters above the sea level.

Luxor & Aswan It is like an open museum you walk in and enjoy. Luxor contain 1/3 monuments of Egypt, it is like you live in ancient Egypt. And Aswan is the exact place to enjoy the Nile and its nature.

Main Program 1. Scientific program 2. 2 days trip to Cairo: • The pyramids and Sphinx • The Citadel • Old Cairo area (Hanged church , Amr Ibn EL As mosque and Ibn Ezra synagogue) • Khan El Khalily bazar 3. 1 day trip to Alexandria: • Alexandria library • Qaietbey Citadel 4. A countryside trip (minimum 5 students to launch the trip). 5. An NFD party.

1. 4 days trip to Dahab and Saint Catherine mountain 2. 4 days trip to Luxor and Aswan
P.S:
• We will launch both trips in case that most of the attendance agreed. • Minimum 5 students to launch the trips. • A detailed timetable will be sent to accepted student 1 month prior to the summer school beginning.
Fees
1 person: 280 euros 3 persons group: 275 euros each 5 persons group: 270 euros each 10 persons: 265 euros each P.S:
• Fees includes : 1. Main program 2. Accommodation in air-conditioned rooms 3. One Meal / Day from a set menu made especially for you 4. Transportation in the social program. 5. Welcome package (SIM card , T-shirt) • Fees doesn’t include entrance fees of touristic sites • The invoice of payment will be sent to the accepted students.
