JORGE AYALA+UNITED NUDE
JORGE AYALA work in different disciplines. He studied architecture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, followed by a master’s degree from the Architectural Association in London. After living in China for a year, he settled in Paris, France, to start his own eponymous label. Established since then between Paris and Mexico, Jorge is a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to material research and experimentation within his practice, resulting in fashion design, applied art, object art and contemporary pieces, and allowing him a palette of collaborations with luxury brands. .
The now creative director of the fashion platform Futur Fashion, which empowers new talents in the fashion business, talks about his new collaboration with United Nude, a brand that has worked with personalities like Lady Gaga: “In architecture we talk very followed by the form, and the background in the design. Within my collaboration with United Nude and Rem D Koolhaas, this paradigm makes perfect sense; that is to say, not only the way of carrying out, materializing the shoes, making them, but the raison d’être, the message they carry, is what makes our collaboration fundamental and that results in a light and audacious footwear, designed by two architecs”, commented the artist from Mexico City.

In the case of this first collaboration, Jorge sought dematerialization, an almost invisible shoe that has no weight or almost 0 grams, a totally manifest positioning in relation to the current trend of chunky, volumetric shoes that involve a lot of matter and too much effort when walking, he explains.
In addition, the Sonar Hi, as his shoes are called, “They are a synthesis of light and the reflection, when walking, of a certain spirituality.” These pieces are perfect for “contemporary women who like to dress well, but don’t take fashion seriously, and for all who like to innovate with different brands.”

What caught his attention about collaborating with United Nude is that his pieces are classified as the designs of the future, with an allure of extreme architecture, audacity and innovation. Regarding this project, Jorge shares that he knows Rem D Koolhaas. They studied together at the Architectural Association, in London: “Since then, we have been, before being partners, excellent friends, two architects seeking to innovate in the world of fashion. This is how our dynamics came about, through the years and with the maturity that each one of us has in our field”. “I love creating, being creative and always carrying out the designs; I like theory, but I am much more attached to practice”, confesses the Mexican architect and designer who has seduced the entire world with his creations.
