THE MONARCH’S CHALLENGES
THE NEWLY CROWNED CHARLES III OF THE UNITED KINGDOM FINDS HIMSELF FACING A GREAT CHALLENGE IN HIS NEW ROLE AS MONARCH.
From an economy that is going through unpleasant moments after the contingency caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, Brexit and in general the consequences of the controversial governments of the last four prime ministers: David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss, to the UK’s role on the international stage on issues such as the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Charles will have to work with government leaders to find a solution that is beneficial to his country in the long term. Despite welfare programs and free healthcare, there is notable economic instability in the UK. King CHARLES III will have to be the link between the British people and their institutions.
Finally, the role of the United Kingdom in the international community will be a major challenge for King CHARLES III. The UK has a long history of playing a global leadership role.
All these challenges must be faced by the monarch who, due to his low charisma, the controversy over his advanced age and scandals related to his stormy marriage with Diana Spencer, the story of his relationship with his current queen consort, Camilla, and the most recent turbulence Caused by his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, he does not have the popularity enjoyed by his mother, the late Elizabeth II, or his eldest son and heir, Prince William.
The issue is that charisma is an overrated gift, and the greatest tyrants in history lived with plenty of charisma and charm, while low profiles like CHARLES III of the United Kingdom, over time, managed to write great pages in the history.
