We hope you are all keeping safe and well. We understand that things are challenging at the moment and you should remember that planning for your future is still essential! Maybe you have a bit more free time now and are wondering how to fill it? Maybe there is something that you have wanted to learn but never quite got round to? Now is your chance! With a whole ream of online courses to choose from and all available absolutely free there is no better time to add that extra skill to your CV to put you a step ahead when searching and applying for jobs. Open Learn offers courses from languages to leadership and also offers personal development courses in subjects such as managing your money! The website just requires you to set up an account which is free of charge and you will then have access to as many of the free online courses as you would like to take. Linked-In are offering free training in a diverse range of subjects for at least the next month and again you just need to sign up at linkedin.com/learning. My Bucks Career can offer great tips on writing your application, writing and updating your CV as well as interview and assessment centre preparation. There is a career route plotter which can give advice on how to get into your chosen industry and if some of you are having doubts about the path you’ve chosen, or maybe you haven’t chosen a path yet the Careers and Employability Service at the University can give tailored advice if you contact them at careers@bucks.ac.uk Our Bucks Award sessions are also available remotely. These conversations can be used as a reflective tool to understand what you have already done during your time at university, how to effectively articulate these experiences and the valuable skills you have gained from them and how you can transfer them to the workplace.
