Let us save you time and energy! We can assemble your alfresco space for you. Our in-home and in-store services will help you every step of the way, from exploring our wide range of products and placing your order, to delivery, assembly and installation.

OUTDOOR FURNITURE ASSEMBLY

Great furniture is an essential element of a comfortable outdoor space. Once you’ve chosen your setting or pieces, Bunnings Warehouse can connect you with a service agent to assemble your outdoor furniture. Look for this yellow icon in-store to see which prices include free delivery.

OUTDOOR HEATER ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION

To keep your outdoor space toasty, warm and useable year-round, purchase an outdoor strip heater or patio heater from Bunnings Warehouse and we’ll install or assemble it for you. Outdoor Strip Heater installation is available in selected stores; Patio Heater assembly is available nationally.

POOL EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION

Prepping your pool for summer fun has never been easier with our Pool Pump installation and Pool Chlorinator and Filter installation services.

BBQ ASSEMBLY

This service is available nationally for barbecues purchased from Bunnings Warehouse. Speak to the Special Orders Desk to organise a time that best suits you.

ALFRESCOPLUS™ BBQ CABINET ASSEMBLY

Dreaming of an outdoor kitchen? Select your favourite style from the AlfrescoPlusTM barbecue cabinet range and we will deliver and assemble it for you at your home.

Need to know: AlfrescoPlusTM BBQ Cabinet Assembly service excludes the installation of a stone benchtop or assembly of a barbecue and fitting of plumbing and gas; however, Bunnings Warehouse offers additional services to help complete these tasks! Contact the Special Orders Desk for more information. This service is available in selected stores only and pricing includes the delivery and assembly of up to three AlfrescoPlusTM cabinets; charges apply for additional cabinets.

Make friends and family members feel welcome by installing play equipment for kids. We have a wide range of products to choose from and we can arrange assembly on products purchased from Bunnings Warehouse.

SPECIAL ORDERS

If you’ve fallen in love with the perfect lounge set or a must-have barbecue online, but can’t find it in store, chances are this product is a part of our Special Orders range. In addition to our in-store range, we also offer thousands of beautiful, and even custom, pieces online that can be delivered right to your doorstep. Order in-store or online – just look for the blue Special Orders icon.

JUST GAS

Purchase a full gas bottle or exchange your empty bottle for a full one at your local Bunnings Warehouse to keep your barbecue running smoothly.

SHOP ONLINE

Shop anywhere, anytime online (bunnings.com.au). When you place your order on the website, select from a wide variety of services like Click & Collect and Click & Deliver, which provide you with value and convenience whenever you shop with us online.

GET IT HOME

If you’re shopping in-store, Bunnings Warehouse can assist with getting your products back home safely and securely. Most stores have options to arrange delivery to your home, depending on your location and the size of your order. A delivery fee will be added to your order at the time of purchase. Contact your local store to find out more. The Get It Home service includes a courtesy trailer, free for up to two hours. For an easier move, the trailer is fitted with tie down racks, an ‘H’ frame and a jockey. Bunnings Warehouse also has a fleet of utes and vans with a 1 tonne carrying capacity, which can be hired by the hour. Need to know: Contact your local store for vehicle availability and rates.

Your backyard can be a haven at home. Create a place you’ll want to spend time in year-round with comfortable furniture and outdoor heating or shade. Make your friends and family feel welcome by adding a pool, play equipment, barbecue and accessories for entertaining.

Initial considerations

Your choices will be influenced by available space and your lifestyle. Are you big entertainers? You’ll need a generous dining table, space to cook and a barbecue. Is your backyard a relaxation space? Increase your comfort with cosy outdoor furniture and temperature controls. Is your outdoor area a multi-purpose zone? You’ll need a little bit of everything, with some play equipment, a pool or a spa to increase the fun-factor.

Size up your space

The dimensions and shape of your area will influence your options. A deep deck is ideal for a social set-up with adjacent sofas and a coffee table, while a slender patio can create a quiet retreat with a daybed and side table. If you’re pushed for space, prioritise the items you’ll use the most, like a lounge setting for entertaining or a round table with armless chairs for a smaller area. Bench seats can often squeeze on an extra body when needed – just add bench cushions for added comfort! Don’t forget to consider proximity – for example, do you want your outdoor dining area to be near the cooking zone or slightly separate to it? Would you prefer play spaces to be close to the house, or some distance apart?

Find your right style

To ensure your alfresco areas flow with your home’s overall style, choose similar materials and colours to the interiors, creating interest and personality with soft furnishings and accessories. For classic homes and cottage gardens, add comfort with wicker sofas teamed with neutral cushions, floral fabrics and textural rugs. For a resort feel, choose coastal-style outdoor furniture (timeless teak pieces, for example) and fabrics in neutrals and whites with a dash of blue. For a more contemporary look, aluminium or metal finished pieces create an atmosphere of modern elegance. Overall, your selection comes down to personal preference and the look you’re after. Combining a variety of textures and colours can make an impact, but be sure to include a common linking element for a harmonious result.

Protect your furniture

Maintain your outdoor furniture to ensure it will look its best, season after season.

Daily/weekly

• Give outdoor tables a thorough wipe down with a damp cloth and general surface spray.

• To minimise the impact of bugs, remove cobwebs, insects (and their eggs) and droppings from rafters, light fittings, walls and corners with an extendable broom, brush and dustpan.

Seasonally/annually

• Remove covers from outdoor furniture and cushions and give them a good wash. Follow the care advice on the label. Deal with mould marks by soaking in a suitable stain removing solution.

• Give furniture a scrub with a soft brush and a cleaning product suitable for its material (timber, metal, plastic, fabric). To inhibit mould, scrub with a solution of one cup of vinegar to four litres of warm water.

Whatever your culinary ambitions this summer – low ‘n’ slow meats in a smoker, backyard pizza, or just classic grilled snags – Bunnings has the tools for the task.

Who doesn’t love an alfresco cook-up? These days, there’s not only a barbecue to suit every size of space, from a balcony to a generous, sprawling backyard, but there’s also one to suit what you love to cook, too. When you’re making your choice, look at the space you have available, and what type of food – and how – you like to cook as a starting point. We’re sharing some tips to help you on your barbecue-buying journey.

Consider the size you need

For couples and small families, a two or three burner is generally big enough, while larger families or keen entertainers may prefer the flexibility and capacity of a four or six burner barbie. Where you plan to use the barbecue may also influence the size and style. “Portable barbecues are great for those with limited outdoor space, such as apartment balconies or townhouse courtyards, and allow flexibility to move it to different locations,” says Matt Hoffmann, Bunnings national barbecue and heating buyer. “Alternatively, an in-built barbecue or barbecue kitchen, complete with extra bench space, storage and even a sink, can be a fantastic addition to an outdoor entertaining area.”

Preferred fuel type – gas, electric or charcoal – will also influence which model you choose. “Cooking on quality solid fuels is widely thought to add greater depth of flavour to your cook, while gas barbecues are generally less expensive to run and can get up to cooking temperature more quickly, making them incredibly convenient,” explains Matt. LPG bottles allow portable models to move where desired, while plumbed natural gas is ideal for inbuilt models and ensures you won’t run out of gas mid-cook.

To assess durability and functionality, Matt recommends looking at the main components and favouring models made from stainless steel, with cast iron burners. Beneficial, user-friendly features include a self-cleaning glass viewing window, side burner, temperature gauge and LED lights.

Beyond the barbecue

To expand your culinary repertoire, you might also like to explore specialised cooking devices. “If you love the ambience of woodfired cooking, but prefer a simpler method, a gas-fired pizza oven is a great option,” suggests Matt. “It provides fast high temperatures ideal for convenient cooking, without the need for wood or cleaning up ash and soot.”

If it’s smoky American-style low ‘n’ slow cooking you crave, Matt recommends a wood pellet grill. “It’s easy to use and, with the ability to grill, smoke, bake, roast, sear, braise, chargrill and barbecue, it’s far more capable than a traditional charcoal or gas barbecue. Much like an oven, the natural hardwood pellets give you precise temperature control, while dispersed heat and smoke infuses food with a wonderful smoky flavour.”

Going big with your barbecue fare? Then consider a spit roaster, which can tackle cuts you might not be able to accommodate in an oven, such as a whole lamb.

Barbecue hunter’s checklist

FUNCTION: What type of cooking do you want to do: grilling, roasting, baking, smoking?

NUMBER OF BURNERS: How many people are you catering for?

AESTHETICS: How will it look and is a suitable cover available?

FUEL SOURCE: Natural gas, LPG, solid fuel or electric?

FEATURES: Does it have functions or accessories that promote convenience, ease of use and varied cooking? For example: a temperature gauge, wok burner, rotisserie attachment, sear burner, hood lighting or self-cleaning.

MAINTENANCE: Is it easy to clean and look after?

PRICE: Is it within your budget?

With wood-burning appliances such as pizza ovens, avoid burning any timbers that have been painted, stained or treated with preservatives.
