THE INTERNET & IDENTITY YOUR VIEWS
HEXAGONSON
Do you feel the internet has changed the way you view yourself?
Have your say here:
bit.ly/internetidentity
Maybe you’re a bit shy and the internet has allowed you to be more outgoing and show people the real you. Conversely you may feel that the web has negatively impacted on your identity. This could be the case if you feel you’re not the
real you unless you are online or that your virtual life is negatively affecting your offline relationships.
Has the internet helped or hindered your sense of identity?

Raindrops By b00kw0rm99 Rain, falling around me, Blurring my vision. These raindrops are not really rain. They are tears. Tears, streaming down my face. They burn my eyes, And wet my cheeks. I cannot wipe them away. Rain, real rain now. Mixing with my salty tears.
Adventures Of An Airship Captain’s Daughter Chapter One By CarrotVakarian The engines, oh, the engines. This was my domain. They worked so smoothly under my hands; as beautiful and efficient as clockwork, they responded to my touch as readily as any person. After finishing my duties for the morning I decided
to go up to get breakfast. Usually I’d take my plate down to the engines to eat - as the captain’s daughter and chief engineer I commanded respect from all the crew and even admiration from some, but little more than that - but today the new apprentice, Tobias, that old Pricey the navigator had taken on was there and had caught my eye. MUSIC
theSprout speak to local rapper
TOOYOUNG Hi Jamie, tell us about yourself. I’m 19 years old, live in Splott and am passionate about rapping. How long have you been rapping? For the past 10 years… although I only got the confidence to perform in the last year and a half. Why do you rap? I rap because it is a fun hobby that I’ve grown into, rap is an important part of my personality and it helps to define my feelings and character. What are your biggest achievements? Last year I performed at the O2 Academy in Birmingham.

What do you rap about? I rap about life which covers a lot of ground. My lyrics come from life lessons, whether it’s my experience or not. I hope sharing this may help others realise what I have come to realise. Where do you see yourself in the future? I’d like to be further on in my music and youth work career. I’d like to own my own studio, which would be accessible by the community.
Can you share some words of wisdom for new rappers? My advice to anyone who wants to kick off their music career is you gotta take the lows with the highs. Keep practicing and get yourself out there. You won’t live your dream rapping or singing in your bedroom. Jamie is a member of the Ministry Of Life. To learn rapping, singing, DJing, music production and/ or business skills contact info@ministryoflife.co.uk.
Can you share some of your lyrics with us? “I’m making movements designed for improvements. I’m schooling these teachers like these youths were my students. They see themselves in me, I see myself in them, on an inevitable route to the pen,” – TooYoung Photo by Dayana Del Puerto / ProMo-Cymru

Retro is the new cool and this couldn’t be closer to the truth when talking about video games. With the rise in downloadable content and information on the net, more people are interested in the classic games that have shaped the gaming industry. And what better place to learn more than a retro gaming shop? Super Tomato is a hidden gem, catering for gamers, manga readers and geeks in general. Instantly you are greeted by plushies of famous gaming characters, retro games and an impressive manga collection. The employees are passionate about their subject and can prove it, a rare treat in an increasingly online market. The cosy atmosphere is enhanced by the array of things on offer and is perfect to find that old game or just share your interests.
Stepping into Super Tomato filled me with a great deal of nostalgia. It was a delight to see old games from the old game consoles. -WeepingWillow
