DAVIDS
Gendarmenmarkt is one of the most beautiful squares in Germany. Its concert house between the German and French cathedrals is a worthy place for classic tunes in the open air. The popular festival was opened back in summer 1992 by none other than the popular star tenor José Carreras. Since then it has gained a large regular audience. Every evening has its own theme. Three tenors Björn Casapietra, Fabio Andreotti and Alexandru Badea will appear on stage on the second evening singing Italian operas and popular operetta melodies. On the first evening there are highlights from classical music, film and pop. With baroque sounds from Bach, Händel and Vivaldi, and on the final night the band Söhne Mannheims – the programme couldn’t be more varied.
