Dear Residents,
As another summer leaves so quickly, we hope you had a chance to enjoy our wonderful parks and facilities. The early rains made our parks green and lush with natural beauty. While making our parks nice and green, this same rain caused standing water making mowing a challenge for our maintenance department. We always strive to provide you with outstanding parks and facilities, in both appearance and programming. The fall is an exciting time for us as our staff has planned outstanding programs and special events. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for some annual favorites. Monster Mash is a great family-friendly Halloween event and our Santa Train Ride is always a sell out so sign up early.
Jim Geils Secretary
Our vision is for the Bensenville Park District to be an integral
member of the cooperative inter-governmental group providing quality services and programming of high impact at low cost to the community. We embrace life-long learning in both recreation and leisure fostered through diverse and unique facilities. By maximizing alternative revenue sources, we are recognized for providing the highest level of services and facilities and consistently exceeding our residents’ expectations.

Fischer Farm
Fischer Farm
Fischer Farm is one of the oldest remaining homesteads in the county. The family settled here in 1836 and established a dairy farm. Their success was evident by 1919 when they had the beautiful foursquare farmhouse constructed. This homestead now forms the core of the Fischer Woods Preserve. This preserve is still home to remnant prairie and wetland and provides a glimpse of what the first settlers to the area saw. The land is valued both for these original seedbeds of native plants and for its historical integrity. The nine structures are all connected to the Fischer family and remain on their original foundations. The Bensenville Park District, in cooperation with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, has been working to preserve both the homestead and the native ecosystems while promoting education and recreational opportunities at the site.

Youth Crime Initiatives
The Bensenville Park District supports the Village of Bensenville, City of Wood Dale, Village of Addison and DuPage County Youth Crime Ordinances. We will continue to work cooperatively with all prevention and protection agencies regarding this matter.
We Welcome People with Disabilities
The Bensenville Park District complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and strongly supports inclusion. Inclusion looks at the needs, interests, and abilities of the individuals instead of focusing on their special needs. In partnership with our Special Recreation Association, NEDSRA, reasonable accommodations are provided to ensure successful participation in programs. When registering for a program, please inform our customer service staff if you, or a family member, require assistance related to the ADA.
