Dear Residents,
We all hope you and your families have stayed safe and wish you the best of health in the future. The park district continues to operate under restricted guidelines established by the State of Illinois and follows CDC/IDPH guidelines. We require all park patrons to follow the established guidelines without exception. In anticipation of park district operations being allowed to move towards more programming, more services and more facilities open – the staff will plan for all these options for the upcoming year. Our Water Park is being prepared to open with restrictions. Water Park passes will not be sold this year as we do not know if we can keep a commitment to stay open without issues coming up that would possibly interrupt services. Our camp program will be offered this summer under strict daily guidelines and with restricted rules of operation for the safety of patrons and staff. We ask all to cooperate.

Fischer Farm
Fischer Farm
Fischer Farm is one of the oldest remaining homesteads in the county. The family settled here in 1836 and established a dairy farm. Their success was evident by 1919 when they had the beautiful foursquare farmhouse constructed. This homestead now forms the core of the Fischer Woods Preserve. This preserve is still home to remnant prairie and wetland and provides a glimpse of what the first settlers to the area saw. The land is valued both for these original seedbeds of native plants and for its historical integrity. The nine structures are all connected to the Fischer family and remain on their original foundations. The Bensenville Park District, in cooperation with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, has been working to preserve both the homestead and the native ecosystems while promoting education and recreational opportunities at the site.

School of Dance & Movement
Dance Information
To find the best classes to choose for your athlete, classes have been broken down to specific levels for the School of Dance and Movement. You can find these listed below. During this time we are making adjustments to help prevent the spread of disease. This includes but is not limited to keeping class sizes smaller, practicing hand washing before each class, and providing at home videos and/or exercises to help prepare students for their next classes. Pre Classes: Intended for the first time athlete to learn the very basics and be introduced to the class. These classes will introduce body awareness and work on motor skills as well as offer a learn through play approach. These classes range from 2-5 year olds, depending on the particular class. Level I Classes: Introducing students to the world of dance through classes with more structure and discipline. These classes will develop body awareness and placement. As well as the key points to making a routine and skills, students will learn to develop their individual passion for the sport. Level I classes are intended for 6-9 year olds. Level II Classes: As you move your way through the School of Dance and Movement, you will learn to master your skills as well as develop more challenging ones. Level II classes will be taught at a faster pace and students are expected to show discipline and enthusiasm for the sport they are continuing. Here you begin setting an example to other dancers moving up in the program. These classes are created for 10-14 year olds. Building Block Classes: These classes are made for all levels and intended for strengthening the core classes. You may take building block classes separately, or use them to challenge yourself even more. Created for the dancer who wants to take it a step further, you will find extra practice time and an opportunity to work on your individual skills.

They may bring their own guns, but we will provide extra nerf guns and “ammo in order to prevent losing their equipment. Min 4 | Max 9. (SV)
Looking to up your game? This program will consist of fun games and drills that incorporate many skills including ball handling shooting, passing, rebounding and defense. Loose Leash Walking
Do you like taking your dog for a walk or does your dog take you for a walk? Is walking your dog a nightmare with pulling and hyperactivity? Loose leash walking is a great skill to teach your pet. This session will get you and your dog on the way to wonderful walks. Min 4 | Max 8. (TG)
Coming When Called
Learning to come when called, or recall to you, is one of the most important skills your dog can learn. But teaching a recall can be challenging, as dogs find so much of the world so interesting. Patience and practice are all important aspects when working on reliable recall training. This session will get you started on getting your dog to come when called. Min 4 | Max 8. (TG)
Basic Obedience
Dogs can learn at any age. We help older dog’s unlearn any undesirable behaviors and teach them new, more appropriate behaviors. For Your K9’s Basic Obedience Class is for dogs 5 months and older (unless you have graduated from our Puppy Class). We use today’s more progressive positive motivational training techniques. Understanding the dog’s perspective, gentle handling, patience, respect and practice will make you and your dog a successful team. During this class you will teach your dog basic skills such as loose leash walking, sit, down, wait, etc. Subjects like nipping and biting, jumping on people, problem barking, digging and chewing will also be discussed. Training helps you establish a special bond with your dog using positive reinforcement methods. It is this positive relationship that increases the bond and teamwork between trainer and dog. A good relationship leads to excellence in the performance of learned behavior. Min 4 | Max 8. (TG)
Puppy Class
This is the most important class you will ever attend with your puppy. Your puppies experiences are the most crucial during these early months. The experiences they have during these formative months will last with them for the rest of their lives. Socializing your puppy and teaching them basic skills will help them live as happy and productive members of the family. Everyone in the family needs to be involved and committed because consistency is KEY! For Your K9’s Puppy Class is for new puppies from 8 weeks up to 5 months of age. We spend our time working on your puppies socialization skills, which includes playtime with the other puppies in class. In addition to this we work on developing your puppies basic commands. We also help you with real life topics like house training, crate training, mouthing and chewing. Training helps you establish a special bond with your puppy using positive reinforcement methods.
