Start by telling us where you are right now and what you are working on Right now I am taking stock of a 2016 that has been challenging, exciting and busy. I released my first solo album (Dark Bird) I have been playing a lot of live gigs and done lectures.

2017 welcomes new projects. Fx I am going to start teaching song writing and make music for a big danceshow. And then, the music from Dark Birds needs to travel further out into the World.

Tell us about the process of creating your first solo album and what it means to you personally?

After many busy years in the limelight with music og Television, i pulled myself back for 4 years to write my first solo album. It is extremely rare to spend that long time on an album, but for me it was necessary to sort through all of the inspiration in my mind to be able to find my true sound. It has meant that songs have been written, re-arranged and recorded a great amount of times.

Lyrics have been simmering and productions have come and gone. The record is probably recorded 10 times before the final result was ready.

I haven´t been the fastest animal in the forrest, more like an owl who has been sitting and looking around for a while.

You have spend a lot of time in LA, tell us about that journey?

An important part of the record process is the mixing part.

When everything is written, recorded and produced the next to last part is mixing it all.

I had listened to an album called Valentine by a band that has now split up, called Linus Young. The mixing was in my ears totally perfect, so I found an email for the guy behind it online.

I sent him two songs and asked if he wanted to mix me. After one week we had settled the deal. What I didn´t know was that the guy I had emailed with had won a Grammy for his work on Frank Oceans Orange album. In other words he was a Hot Shot.

His name is Jeff Ellis and lives in LA. I therefore decided to spend 3 months in LA to incorperate him in the process.

My co songwriter/producer Søren Vestergaard my son Tristan and my good friend joined me. We rented a house in Laurel Canyon where we put up the studio.

That journey put the record into perspective. To be able to go out and look at the night sky over this crazy city was exactly what i needed to get an overview of a very long process.

As an artist musician and mom, how do you balance it all?

It is something I am still working on and I am not a world champion at it. To choose an artistic road equals very uncertain income, never-ending change and the fact that you are constantly challenged by the uncertainties it leads to. It is just like any other extremely independent job, it take a seriously strong stomach.

I always say that I didn´t choose the music, it chose me. I simply work in its humble service. I see it as a form of fundamental research in the sounds of the soul. It is an honorable job that demands a lot from me as a human being.

However it is a never-ending source of wonder. Wonder of where the songs come from. And gratitude over the fact that I have gotten this gift so that I can communicate with other people on a deeper level.

How do you get to your peace and keep it during a busy every day?

Sleep. sleeping sleeping sleeping. And then I meditate when I drive my car, take a shower and clean the house.

You show a great deal of curiosity on other subjects that the music, any exciting new projects coming up?

I am very interested in the digital transformation of our society.

Recently I gave a lecture on exactly that subject at a conference where ECCO and SKAT (danish taxation red.) also spoke. It was interesting to hear how we had a lot of the same challenges, in Art, private Businesses and the State. It is most definitely a very nerdy side of me that most people don´t know that I have. But for me it is a gift to be able to move in other environments than the cultural.

What are your greatest sources of inspiration?

People who are nerdy and who really make an effort.

We live in a fast paste time which constantly demands a willingness to adapt and develop. I always celebrate the principle that we need to practice for a very long time before we become seriously successful at a craft.

Recently I had invited a group of different people to a speaking salon for my concerts. I talked for instance with a scientist, an ex politician and a composer. Everyone of them highly ganged people who have worked hard on their craft for many years.

All of them held a high level within their work life which allowed them to think in a visionary way.

See THAT I have a lot of respect for.

What is behind the choice to release the album under your own record company?

In these times where most artists are defined by their singles, I chose a completely different and far more costly road. If you calculate the time I spend on this album in dollars it makes no sense at all. To think that a record company would go behind me in this process, I didn´t even look into it.

What dreams lie ahead?

As I said I am about to start teaching. That is going to be fun.

Futhermore I would like to develop an App that controls the lighting at a concert. To me, stage light is one of the most important parts of a concert. Thats why I at this very moment is geeking around with light installations, app constructions and ideas in general.

What is the most important thing that life has taught you so far?

Ohhh, Life is wild. Our instinct often tells us to learn to tame life.

Figure it out, control it. I love the quote of John Lennon: life is what happens while youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re busy making other plans. That I often remind myself off.

What is the very best and most challenging about your job as a model?

The best thing about my job is all of the travel destinations I get to explore. Furthermore I am so lucky that I also get to meet many creative and inspiring people through my work. Without a doubt it´s the greatest gift. The most challenging thing is probably the long hours of waiting and of course a lot of time spend alone, that can be hard at times.

You have become quit a popular girl on instagram, what is it about you and your online universe that you think attract so many followers, and have you done anything particular to attract them?

I am not 100% sure what universe I have created, it sure isn´t something I have done on purpose. What I know for sure is that my followers love the diversity in me. I like to keep distance between my personal life and social media and I see it more as a part of my job to “feed” my followers on instagram.

I do try as much as possible to make it interesting for them to keep following me. I like to post all kinds of different things and not only work related photos. I think that´s one of the reasons why people like to follow me, because it´s not polished, it´s more real. In other words they feel like they get a piece of every little thing that represents me as a human being.

As a beautiful and cool it-girl of today, do you think a lot about what signal you send out through social media?

Of course I do â&#x20AC;&#x201C; and especially because of the fact that I know that there are 86,000 people watching.

I really hope that I have a positive affect on my followers, be it because of my style or something completely different doesn´t matter, the most important thing to me is having a positive influence.
