Drawing & Painting PLANT LIFE DRAWING 2 with Virginia Reid Following on from Plant Life Drawing 1, we will continue to explore plants and natural forms through a variety of mediums and processes. Experimenting with a range of drawing and painting techniques, exploring composition, mark-making and materiality, students will be guided through working on both small format to large scale compositions. DREAMING IN COLOUR 1 with Virginia Reid

Have you often imagined you might like painting but are not sure how to start? If you are a complete beginner or have painted in the past but want a refresher, this course will cover all the basics. How to mix colour and understand hue, value, saturation and temperature to compose satisfying images. Week by week this class will step you through a process to help you paint expressively and develop your own painting signature. ART OF JUXTAPOSITION 2 with Virginia Reid The Art of Juxtaposition 2 will extend the 2D graphic collage explorations of The Art of Juxtaposition 1 and provide an opportunity to consider collage as the basis for making paintings and sculptures. Collage is easy and relies only on a willingness to play with possibilities. During the course students will be individually supported to develop ideas that come from this practice and build a body of work. BREATHING THE LAND 1 with Virginia Reid This art course will focus on deepening our relationship to the landscape we inhabit. We will make use of materials from the landscape to respond to country and incorporate a range of modalities including meditation, walking, observation, drawing, painting and assemblage. Students will be encouraged to work expansively with nature over the duration of the course to refine ideas and bring them to resolution.
